Kyle Busch Ties Nationwide Wins For A Year By Driving Dirty

Las Vegan, Kyle Busch won the Nationwide race in Bristol tonight, in large part by intentionally crashing driver Brad Kesolowski towards the end of the race.
From ESPN: Kyle Busch moved one step closer to sweeping the weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, winning the Nationwide Series race on Friday night after intentionally wrecking Brad Keselowski....
He had to work hard to get the Nationwide win, battling for at least a dozen laps with Keselowski for the lead. He finally made the pass with 31 to go, but as he slid in front of Keselowski, Busch didn't have him cleared and contact between the cars sent Busch down the track and back to second.
He promptly drove back up to Keselowski's bumper and intentionally spun him. Keselowski, the Nationwide Series points leader, wound up 14th while Busch survived several late cautions to go to Victory Lane.
"I raced him, raced him, raced him, I don't know, 12-15 laps? I thought I had him cleared up the back and I moved up in front of him and instead of him doing an [Dale] Earnhardt crossover, he decided to just run into the back of me and put me in the fence," Busch said.
"That's Brad Keselowski. So I went down into the next corner and I dumped him. He does it to everybody else, why can't I do it to him?"

http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar/nationwide/news/story?id=5480903
"He does it to everyone else so why I can't do it to him?" Sorry, but what a pathetic and childish response. Maybe Busch is lucky because Keslowski didn't spin Busch when he had a chance.
Hopefully, there will be pay back to Kyle this week or next.

Teacher Quits Because Extremist Liberal Beliefs And Actions

From Fox News: "The Oregon teacher who declared his mission to “dismantle and demolish” the Tea Party
movement resigned before getting the ax, a school spokeswoman told FoxNews.com.
“He resigned earlier this week, on Monday,” Maureen Wheeler of the
Beaverton School District said. “He resigned in lieu of termination...
Conestoga Middle School media lab teacher Jason Levin became national news back in April when he announced his intention to bring down the Tea Party on his “Crash the Tea Party” website and in media interviews.
The now-ex Conestoga
Middle School media lab teacher said in April that he would seek to embarrass Tea Partiers by attending their rallies dressed as Adolf Hitler, carrying signs bearing racist, sexist and anti-gay epithets and acting as offensively as possible -- anything short of throwing punches. In a post on his now defunct website, Levin once called on his supporters to collect the Social Security numbers—among other personal identifying information—about as many Tea Party supporters as possible at rallies taking place across the country on Tax Day."
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/08/20/tea-party-crasher-resigns-getting-ax/?test=latestnews
It is one thing to have a belief, but it is another thing to encourage identity theft and dress as Hitler.
This is a person who should not be allowed in a classroom and he should have been fired. Not because of his beliefs, but because of his actions.
Levin was a disgrace to the teaching profession.

Union Organizer Gets Fired From a Union?

From The New York Post: "In a move of stunning hypocrisy, the United Federation of Teachers axed one of its longtime employees -- for trying to unionize the powerful labor organization's own workers, it was charged yesterday.
Jim Callaghan, a veteran writer for the teachers union, told The Post he was booted from his $100,000-a-year job just two months after he informed UFT President Michael Mulgrew that he was trying to unionize some of his co-workers.
"I was fired for trying to start a union at the UFT," said a dumbfounded Callaghan, who worked for the union's newsletter and as a speechwriter for union leaders for the past 13 years."

You stay classy teachers. Oh, crap, I am one. I feel embarassed.

Obama Care Costing Jobs In The Private Sector

The conservative blogsphere has been abuzz with this story: Assurant Health is eliminating 130 jobs at its offices in Milwaukee and Plymouth, Minn., by Oct. 1 as the health insurer prepares for changes under federal health care reform.
The company, which sells health insurance for individuals and small employers as well as short-term policies, faces an onslaught of new federal health care reform regulations, including the requirement that it spend 80% of premiums on medical care.
"While it always is a tough decision to eliminate jobs, the health insurance industry is undergoing unprecedented change that requires our company to adapt and transform," Don Hamm, president and chief executive officer of Assurant Health, said in a news release.

http://www.jsonline.com/business/101101889.html
This going to be going on all across the country. No wonder our our unemployment numbers suck.
And Harry Reid, Dina Titus and Shelly Berkley any comments?

Obama Prays Everyday?

From Yahoo News: White House spokesman Bill Burton said most Americans care more about the economy and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and "they are not reading a lot of news about what religion the president is." He commented on Air Force One as Obama headed for a vacation in Massachusetts on Martha's Vineyard.
Burton added, "The president is obviously a Christian. He prays everyday."

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only time Obama prays is when he says "Jesus Christ!!" on the golf course or when he sees his poll numbers.

And, Just Who Is Extreme?

h/t Charlie Sykes http://www.620wtmj.com/shows/charliesykes

University of Nevada-Reno Goes To MWC: Where Are They Going To Get The $5 Million?

The University of Nevada-Reno (UNR) is planning on leaving the The Mountain Athletic Conference (MAC). it will cost them $5,000,000 to leave. Where are they going to get the money?
I didn't realize that the State of Nevada had such a nice budget and the higher education budget was so flush with cash, that they can come up with $5,000,000 within a couple of weeks just to switch conferences.
From ESPN: Fresno State and Nevada should not expect any parting gifts from the other members of the Western Athletic Conference when the Bulldogs and Wolf Pack leave for the Mountain West.
WAC commissioner Karl Benson said Thursday that each departing school will have to pay a $5 million fee to his league and wait until 2012 to move after accepting the MWC's invitation and dismantling an agreement the WAC was on the verge of completing with BYU...

Although Nevada did not actually sign the buyout agreement and loyalty pledge, Benson said WAC lawyers believe the Wolf Pack are still subject to the terms of the deal and will seek the money, due 60 days from Wednesday.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=5477045
So, how does UNR (and Nevada taxpayers) propose to pay for this move? If we had $5,000,000 laying around I would be surprised. Maybe we don't have a massive budget shortage as we once thought.

Another reason Not To Let The Mosque/Community Center By Ground Zero

From Fox News: A Saudi judge has asked several hospitals in the country whether they could damage a man's spinal cord as punishment after he was convicted of attacking another man with a cleaver and paralyzing him, the brother of the victim said Thursday.
Abdul-Aziz al-Mutairi, 22, was left paralyzed and subsequently lost a foot after a fight more than two years ago. He asked a judge in northwestern Tabuk province to impose an equivalent punishment on his attacker under Islamic law, his brother Khaled al-Mutairi told The Associated Press by telephone from there.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/08/19/report-saudi-judge-asks-hospital-damage-convicts-spine-paralyzed-man/?test=latestnews
The Imam of this supposed Mosque/community center is not a moderate Muslim.
Maybe when Muslims become part of the civilized world, then they can be taken seriously.

Obama: I Will Not Rest Until..., Ahh, Screw That

Well, everything must be just dandy as Obama takes his 6th official vacation of the year. How many unofficial ones he has taken, I don't think anybody knows.
From the U.K. Telegraph:
President Barack Obama will be accompanied by his wife Michelle and daughters Malia, 12, and Sasha, nine, and are expected to stay at the historic Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark.
Bill Burton, the deputy White House press secretary, said that the
US president was “going to spend a little time recharging his batteries” at the Massachusetts island ahead of the November midterm elections.
“There will be some hiking, some time at the beach, some time at the ice cream store - all the sort of things you do when you’re at Martha’s Vineyard. You enjoy the people and the good food.”
He is also expected to work on his swing at Mink Meadows golf club in Vineyard Haven and to work out every day, as he did when the First Family visited Martha’s Vineyard last year.
The tally of vacation days for an American president has become a contentious issue in recent years. President Bill Clinton conducted a poll about where best to holiday. President George W. Bush spent a total of 879 days on holiday in his eight years in office, according to Mark Knoller of CBS, the unofficial statistician of the presidency.
Mr Bush was usually working at his Prairie Chapel ranch in Texas, which was named the “Western White House” during his long summers there when he was accompanied by dozens of staff.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/7952796/Obamas-to-begin-sixth-holiday-of-the-year.html
This guy must think he is still a tenured professor when he thinks he can work when ever he wants.
I'm sorry, when the economy is tanking because of his policies, he shouldn't be fiddling when the U.S. is burning.

Obama needs to grow up.

Truth Hurts Sometimes

Isn't Library Time Supposed To Be Quiet Time?

Our family has been going to the Gibson Henderson Library several times a week this summer to get the kids reading books instead of watching T.V.
But some people just don't get it. The library is supposed to be quiet, but they turn on their I-Pods as loud as they can, so the entire section of the library can hear it. People make and receive phone calls in the library and talk at a normal voice. Apparently their conversations must be important to everyone around them.
People just carrying on a normal conversation with their friends, like I want to hear about what their plans are for the evening.
This isn't just kids, but adults as well.
These are probably the same ones who are loud at restaurants and shows.
Maybe they can grow up someday but I doubt it.

Fed's Pay For Private Building's Green Projects

From The Las Vegas Sun: Federal funding is coming to a Las Vegas apartment complex to assist with retrofitting it to be green-friendly.
Rep. Shelley Berkley on Thursday released a statement announcing $2 million of Recovery Act funding will go toward improvements at Stella Fleming Towers, near the intersection of Alta Drive and South Decatur Boulevard.
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/aug/19/recovery-act-fund-green-upgrades-las-vegas-apartme/
Well, that's nice to see that the Fed's are going to pay for green energy improvements for a local public housing authority complex.
Oh, wait, it's not. It's a private company: About Stella Fleming Towers
Is this your company? Claim This Profile Stella Fleming Towers is a private company categorized under City Government-Housing Programs and located in Las Vegas, NV. Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of $500,000 to $1 million and employs a staff of approximately 1 to 4.
http://www.manta.com/c/mmn8qpz/stella-fleming-towers
It's a Section 8 housing unit.
So, what makes this apartment complex so special that it needs the Federal government to pay for it's improvements. This puts it at an unfair competitive advantage to other apartment complexes in the area and the Valley. I live in a town home complex, when are the Fed going to pay for my upkeep so I can have a lower electricity bill?
What a waste of money and it is not fair that other people who live in apartments in the Valley and across the country who have to subsidize this apartment complex and their improvements.
Thanks, Shelly Berkley. You certainly are pig enough to bring home the bacon.

Muslim Disney Worker Sues The Mouse Over Headwear

From Breitbart: A Muslim woman is suing Disneyland, accusing the company's California theme park of discrimination for telling her she could not serve customers if she chose to wear a headscarf.
Imane Boudal, 26, asked her employers at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel several months ago whether they would permit her to wear a headcovering while working as a hostess, a spokeswoman for a worker's union said.
But when no reply was forthcoming, she decided to don the headscarf anyway, timing her decision with the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Leigh Shelton, a spokesman for the UNITE HERE Local 11 union said.
"Disney told Boudlal that if she wanted to work as a hostess she had to remove her hijab because it did not comply with the 'Disney Look,'" Shelton said in a statement
.
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.5e4d052d8a65c3e244b3cae1bab6a2bb.291&show_article=1
Disney is a private company and they have a dress code. This woman, when she was hired knew about the dress code or should have known about it.
Further, she waited to put on the scarf, so it was not that important to her. If it was so important to her, she should have worn it to her interview and first day of work, now when she felt like it.
What a moron.

Since Roger Clemens was indicted today for lying to lawmakers, can we ever file charges against lawmakers who lie to us?

If that was the case, Washington D.C and all the state capitols would be ghost towns.

Victor Davis Hanson: One Reason Why Dem's Want High Taxes

From Victor Davis Hanson: "Two thoughts on the Senator Kerry embarrassment. Was it really a “judgment call”? It seems to me a pretty open-and-shut case of tax evasion, in the manner of the Timothy Geithner’s illegal write-offs and FICA avoidance. When an average taxpayer tries to avoid paying sales tax on his car or boat by the sort of machinations that Kerry employed, is the state franchise tax board (or, in some cases, the IRS) so silent?Second, there is a disturbing pattern here: Those who are most adamant in pressing for higher taxes, rather than emphasizing spending cuts, themselves seem to be the most ready to cheat on their own taxes — think of a Dodd, Geithner, Kerry, or Rangel. That narrative of hypocrisy ties into a larger and disturbing trend: Could it be that leftist populists who rail against the unfairness of the system and activists who call for radical political and lifestyle changes are motivated by a need for psychological exemptions for their very concrete indulgences?Surely if one were to collate what John Edwards has said about two Americas, what Al Gore has said about frivolous consumption and its effect on the environment, and Tom Friedman’s eloquent warnings about unsustainable Western lifestyles, one would never imagine the thousands of square footage in living space that each sees as essential to his own existence."
http://www.victorhanson.com/articles/hanson081810.html
Maybe the dem's are seeking to rais the taxes on everyone, not just those making over $250,000, is out of guilt for their failure to pay taxes.
Interesting thoery.

Hard Core Pawn Ratings: Not Too Bad But Pawn Stars Kick Butt

From The Hollywood Reporter: TruTV's "Hardcore Pawn" debuted Monday to 2 million viewers, and 1 million in the adult demo -- the network's most-watched series premiere ever.
http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/08/trutv-hardcore-pawn-ratings.html
However, Pawn Stars still kicks the butt of Hard Core Pawn:
Pawn Stars (10pm)- 6.082 million viewers- 3.7/6 HH- 2.2/6 A18-49
Pawn Stars (10:30pm)- 6.238 million viewers- 3.8/7 HH- 2.3/7 A18-49
6 million vs 2 million. But for the pawn shops of America, that is 8 million people watching pawn shows. It has to be a boom for the industry.
http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/08/17/monday-cable-with-monday-night-football-rizzoli-isles-the-closer-drop-but-pawn-stars-american-pickers-thrive-much-more-more/60241
To be honest, I did like the Hard Core Pawn, except they had a character on the show who reminds me of a person who I dislike, so I can hardly stand to watch the show.
So, it will be interesting to see how the ratings stick.

R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr.: Obama Worst President Ever

R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr., in a piece in the Washington Times says President Obama is the worst president ever. Well, I knew that and many, if not most conservatives know it, but Tyrell put's it in much better language than I ever could.
From the Washington Times and R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr.: It is becoming apparent for all to see that a man who made his name as a community organizer does not have the skills to be president of these United States. Maybe he could develop the requisite skills as a governor. Possibly he could develop such skills were he to sit in the Senate for a couple of terms. Yet there are delicate sensitivities, the ability to listen, to stick by your guns, occasionally to remain reticent. These are the fundamentals of a leader, and President Obama has demonstrated that he lacks all of them, most notably reticence. I think it is clear even to official Washington that Mr. Obama is the worst president of modern times. President Jimmy Carter is redeemed....
Mr. Obama represents the leadership of a sterile elite. His weird lectures play at the University of Chicago or in the communities he has organized in Chicago but not among the mainstream of the American electorate. He has brought them together, and they are against this idiocy. As I said in this space two weeks ago, he represents the leadership of the ruling class. It is not the leadership of the consensus of the American people. Only the most extreme voices in this debate are speaking intolerantly about Islam and its right to build a mosque. Most of the American people are siding with the dread Sarah Palin, who was quick to say, "Mr. President, should they or should they not build a mosque steps away from where the radicals killed 3,000 people? Please tell us your position. We all know that they have a right to do it, but should they? And no, this isn't above your pay grade."
Yet it is. It is above the pay grade of a community organizer. That is what our president is. Increasingly, it is clear that the Democrats brought down on the country a community organizer as president. Maybe in the future they will consider experience a qualification for the presidency. Possibly, the age of charisma is behind us. Possibly,
Mr. Obama even lacks that dubious quality.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/18/our-incompetent-president/

Couldn't have said it better myself. (and no, I could not have said it better)

10th Circuit Court Of Appeals Travesty

Maybe the pinheads of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that call themselves judges have been living in the high altitude of Denver too long and have come down with Alzheimer's. Perhaps someone spiked their Geritol with crack cocaine or meth. Or perhaps, they just don't like police officers. But whatever the reason, they have ordered that crosses that memorilize fallen Utah state patrol troopers as illegal because instead of thinking about that an officer died, some ignorant fool with two teeth might think that Utah is endorsing Christianity instead memorializing a fallen officer.
From Fox News: "The 14 crosses erected along Utah roads to commemorate fallen state Highway Patrol troopers convey a state preference for Christianity and are a violation of the U.S. Constitution, a federal appeals court said Wednesday.
The ruling reverses a 2007 decision by a federal district judge that said the crosses communicate a secular message about deaths and were not a public endorsement of religion. It's the latest in a recent rash of mixed-bag rulings on the public use of crosses.
A three-judge panel from Denver's 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said in its 38-page ruling that a "reasonable observer" would conclude that the state and the Utah Highway Patrol were endorsing Christianity with the cross memorials."

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/08/18/federal-appeals-court-rules-utah-memorial-crosses-highway/
First, I have been to one of these memorials on an Interstate (Not sure which one) and while it had a cross, it did not mention Christianity. It told what happened and gave a brief history of the police officer. It also had a rock monument to the officer. I am not sure if you could have seen the monument from the road.
I work with severely mentally disabled kids and these kids have more intelligence and common sense than these judges.
One hopes that if one of these judges happened to be pulled over by a Utah State Patrol trooper, that the judges may feel first hand, the taste of police brutality. Though, the troopers probably won't because they have far more class than these vermin on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Fact Check.Org: Obama Lied

Well, well, lookee here. Fact Check.org calls out President Obama and they don't mince words. They said Obama told a whopper about the GOP stance on Social security. (I think you can add Harry Reid in this whopper lie)
From FactCheck:
Obama’s (Latest) Social Security Whopper: The president claims Republican leaders are as eager to 'privatize' Social Security as they are to repeal his health care law. That's not true.
August 16, 2010
Summary
President Obama claimed that Republican leaders are pushing to make "privatizing Social Security a key part of their legislative agenda" should they regain control of the House and Senate. He said this is "right up there on their to-do list with repealing" parts of the new health care law.
We find the president’s claim to be mostly false.

http://factcheck.org/2010/08/obamas-latest-social-security-whopper/
Further, from FactCheck:
The president said:
Obama, Aug. 14: [S]ome Republican leaders in Congress don’t seem to have learned any lessons from the past few years. They’re pushing to make privatizing Social Security a key part of their legislative agenda if they win a majority in Congress this fall. It’s right up there on their to-do list with repealing some of the Medicare benefits and reforms that are adding at least a dozen years to the fiscal health of Medicare – the single longest extension in history.
That’s mostly false. It’s simply not true that the Republican leadership of either the House or the Senate is currently pushing to allow any portion of Social Security taxes — let alone all Social Security taxes — to be invested in the stock market. Only one House member who could be characterized as a GOP "leader" — Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin — is currently voicing public support for limited, voluntary private accounts for workers age 55 and under.

(Emphasis mine)
Even if Sharron Angle wanted to privatize parts of social security, she wouldn't get very far with the GOP leadership.
So, Obama and the Democrats are just flat out lying when they complain about the GOP trying to privatize Social Security (though I do support some privatization of Social security)
Unfortunately, some elderly people believe the Dem's and their lies.

High Priced firefightersd Complain About Staffing

From Firehouse.com: That's when the blame game began.
"We are telling you it is the reality. We have no money," Lawrence Mayor William Lantigua said. "The main reason why the Lawrence fire department was hit so far, is because it is the one that makes the most money in the state of Massachusetts."
Lantigua said if firefighters made concessions he might be able to rehire the 23 firefighters recently laid off. Firefighters were outraged.
Fire chiefs said they simply want to figure out a rotation schedule so the cost is evenly spread around, but firefighters put the blame squarely on the governor's shoulders.
"Can you please go back and tell the administration that we're in crisis in Lawrence? And surrounding communities and we need his help," said Robert McCarthy, of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts. "We need to do it before a firefighter gets killed or a citizen gets killed."
But Lantigua argued the state has helped enough and there is no crisis.
"I think we're safe. I think with the numbers of men and women we have from mutual aid we should have not problem," he said.

http://www.firehouse.com/topics/firefighter-safety/mass-dept-staffing-crisis-leads-blame
Substitute Lawrence with Clark County and the CCFD union and the Lawrence firefighters union and you basically have the same story.
Union blames management, management blames unions. Unions use scare tactics. Same old same old throughout the country.

Dodge Ram Vs PETA

Favre Is Back

According to ESPN Sports Center, Brett Favre is returning to the Vikings. Another year to cheer for Favre and the Vikueens, except for two games this year.
August 18, 2009 is the same date that Favre reported to the Vikings last year.
Not a big deal.

Dr. Laura: I Quit

From CNN: Embattled radio talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger announced Tuesday she will not renew her contract that is up at the end of the year, telling CNN's "Larry King Live" she wants to "regain my First Amendment rights."
Schlessinger, 63, has been under fire for using the n-word repeatedly during an on-air conversation with a caller last week.
In announcing her decision "not to do radio anymore" after being in the business for more than 30 years, Schlessinger said, "I want to be able to say what's on my mind and in my heart and what I think is helpful and useful without somebody getting angry or some special-interest group deciding this is a time to silence a voice of dissent."

http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/celebrity.news.gossip/08/17/doctor.laura.ends.show/index.html?hpt=T1
Well, the liberals bagged another one. Dr. Laura was criticized for using the n-word last week and if you read or heard what was said in context, 95% of the people would have agreed with her.
I have listened to her now and then and she seem to give good advise most of the time and was entertaining.
She doesn't need this job because I am sure she is financially well off and she is close or past retirement age.
So, good luck, Dr. Laura, we will miss you. Maybe you can pull a Brett Favre and unretire a few times.

Can You Grade A Teacher? L.A. Times thinks We Can

The Los Angles Times and it's writers have written a provocative article about how teachers can be evaluated using student tests and they can show, over time, whether a teacher is effective or not.
From the L.A. Times: Seeking to shed light on the problem, The Times obtained seven years of math and English test scores from the Los Angeles Unified School District and used the information to estimate the effectiveness of L.A. teachers — something the district could do but has not.
The Times used a statistical approach known as value-added analysis, which rates teachers based on their students' progress on standardized tests from year to year. Each student's performance is compared with his or her own in past years, which largely controls for outside influences often blamed for academic failure: poverty, prior learning and other factors.
Though controversial among teachers and others, the method has been increasingly embraced by education leaders and policymakers across the country, including the Obama administration....

Some students landed in the classrooms of the poorest-performing instructors year after year — a potentially devastating setback that the district could have avoided. Over the period analyzed, more than 8,000 students got such a math or English teacher at least twice in a row.
• Contrary to popular belief, the best teachers were not concentrated in schools in the most affluent neighborhoods, nor were the weakest instructors bunched in poor areas. Rather, these teachers were scattered throughout the district. The quality of instruction typically varied far more within a school than between schools.
• Although many parents fixate on picking the right school for their child, it matters far more which teacher the child gets. Teachers had three times as much influence on students' academic development as the school they attend. Yet parents have no access to objective information about individual instructors, and they often have little say in which teacher their child gets.
• Many of the factors commonly assumed to be important to teachers' effectiveness were not. Although teachers are paid more for experience, education and training, none of this had much bearing on whether they improved their students' performance.
Other studies of the district have found that students' race, wealth, English proficiency or previous achievement level played little role in whether their teacher was effective.

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-teachers-value-20100815,0,258862,full.story
The Times also came up with a composite of effective teachers: On visits to the classrooms of more than 50 elementary school teachers in Los Angeles, Times reporters found that the most effective instructors differed widely in style and personality. Perhaps not surprisingly, they shared a tendency to be strict, maintain high standards and encourage critical thinking.
But the surest sign of a teacher's effectiveness was the engagement of his or her students — something that often was obvious from the expressions on their faces.
(emphasis mine)
The Times may be on to something here. (BTW, that is not how you are taught teach in college school of education classes)
But the education system is not in favor of this. The teacher's union in Los Angles has called for a boycott of the Times. The administration and teachers are caterwauling about whether this is fair or an effective way to evaluate a teacher.
It would be a mistake to use standardized test over a one or two year period to evaluate a teacher, however using this approach or many years, you can generally see if a teacher is doing a good job or not and there is no reason why you can't use this information to evaluate a teacher and their effectiveness.
Maybe CCSD can look into this.

Mosque/Community Center Controversy Explained By Muslims

From the Ottowan Citizen:
New York currently boasts at least 30 mosques so it's not as if there is pressing need to find space for worshippers. The fact we Muslims know the idea behind the Ground Zero mosque is meant to be a deliberate provocation to thumb our noses at the infidel. The proposal has been made in bad faith and in Islamic parlance, such an act is referred to as "Fitna," meaning "mischief-making" that is clearly forbidden in the Koran.
The Koran commands Muslims to, "Be considerate when you debate with the People of the Book" -- i.e., Jews and Christians. Building an exclusive place of worship for Muslims at the place where Muslims killed thousands of New Yorkers is not being considerate or sensitive, it is undoubtedly an act of "fitna
"

I would by sympathetic to Muslims if most did the following:
1. Apologize for all the U.S. victims of Muslims terrorism that have been committed over the years.
2. Muslims in Saudia Arabia allow a Christian Church in or around Mecca
3. Muslims would put up a memorial at Ground Zero, Pentagon and the crash site in Pennsyvania to memorialize the dead in the 9/11 attacks.
If they did this, I may have a little bit more sympathy for Muslims.
Otherwise, I think I will have some pork chops tomorrow evening in their honor.

Russiian Company Gets No Bid Contract From U.S. For Helicopters

From Fox News: Sikorsky, a U.S. helicopter manufacturer
whose headquarters in Connecticut, is formally protesting the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (Navair) and seeking the ability to bid of the federal government contract, saying its S-61 model is comparable to and just as effective as the Russian Mi-17 that the U.S. is now eyeing.
And the company is now drawing the support of Republican candidates.
"It is outrageous to me that Sikorsky wasn't afforded the opportunity to bid on this contract," former WWE CEO Linda McMahon said in a written statement to FoxNews.com. "The Pentagon has both a fiscal responsibility and a patriotic responsibility to, at a minimum, allow American manufacturers to compete with foreign firms for these important contracts, particularly given that Sikorsky's helicopters are the world standard in military helicopters."

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/16/connecticut-gop-candidates-seize-use-russian-choppers-afghanistan/
So, the Obama administration decides to go with a no-bid contract to a Russian company when there is at least one helicopter factory that claims they build a helicopter at least equal to the one's we are buy from Russia.
Apparently, the Obama administration is so tone deaf that they don't realize there is high unemployment in the country and that Connecticut has an unemployment rate of 8.8%
It would be one thing to have a bidding contest to see who has the better helicopter and better price, but the Obama administration chose not to do that.
Worst president ever.

Catherine Cortez Masto: Policitcal Hack

Catherine Cortez Masto, the Nevada Attorney General shows that is the typical Democrat- Hypocrite. From today's Las Vegas Sun: "Nevada’s foreclosure pandemic has attracted a slew of scam artists hoping to take advantage of homeowners desperate to avoid losing their homes. In response, Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto on Tuesday announced a new public awareness campaign to help citizens spot fraud and point them toward legitimate businesses.
At a Tuesday news conference, Cortez Masto, along with Las Vegas Ward 6 Councilman Steven Ross, introduced the Stop Foreclosure Fraud initiative and website,
StopNVForeclosures.org. Homeowners can fill out an online form and request assistance from counseling agencies approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Department."
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/aug/17/ag-announces-campaign-fight-foreclosure-scams/
Well, it's about time. The foreclosure crisis has been going for 3 years and now they are public awareness campaign to help people spot fraud? Nothing like closing the gate after the cattle have left the barn.
So, why now? Why not in March? Last year? The year before?
Maybe because there is an election in a little over 2 months? Nah, that can't be it.

Funky Weather In Henderson

Right now we are getting some very strong winds in Henderson, by Black Mountain. At least 50 mph at times. We are also seeing black skies, lighting and hearing thunder in the distance. There are big storms south and east of here and there is a severe thunderstorm warning for Central Clark County.
Hang on your hat.

Blago: 1 Count Guilty 23 Counts-Hung Verdict: Who Cares

The news networks are going hog wild about the Blago verdict. He was convicted to the FBI on one count and a hung jury on the other 23 counts. The government is going to try him on the other 23 counts, so we will have another circus show trial.
http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/08/14th-day-for-blagojevich-jury.html
This stems from Blago trying to sell the Senate seat that used to belong to President Obama. It is something that almost every governor has done from the time the Constitution was passed and governors were allowed to select senators and members of the House of Representatives. Blago just got caught because 1. he was stupid and bragged about it and 2, he pissed off Obama by not selecting Obama's choice for the seat to be the next Senator from Illinois.
BTW, in the above link, count the number of times, Blago was described as a Democrat. Oh, I'll save you the time. The answer is 0. Zero. None.

Someone Is Wrong

We have conflicting information about Food Stamps today. In the LVRJ, they write a story about food stamps, the rising number of recipients and how people can sign up for it.
They put out this chart with the maximum income limits:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Nevada recipients
2008 147,361
2009 209,999
2010 283,683
Maximum monthly incomes to qualify
One-person household $1,806 a month
Two-person household $2,430 a month
Three-person household $3,052 a month
Four-person household $3,676 a month
Five-person household $4,300 a month
Six-person household $4,922 a month
http://www.lvrj.com/news/getting-food-stamps-a-snap-100867994.html?numComments=35
So, according to the LVRJ, a family making $59,000 is eligible for food stamps. That doesn't make much sense. Hell, with a family of 4, I almost qualified for food stamps, according to the LVRJ.
But according to the Nevada Division of Health and Human Services, the income requirements are much lower, or 130% of the poverty level.
Household Size Maximum Gross Maximum Net
1 $1,127 $867
2 $1,517 $1,167
3 $1,907 $1,467
4 $2,297 $1,767
5 $2,687 $2,067
6 $3,077 $2,367
7 $3,467 $2,667
8 $3,857 $2,967
Each additional person $390 $300
https://dwss.nv.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=91&Itemid=242
So, I am pretty sure the LVRJ got it wrong today and there are going to be a lot of disappointed people out there when they find out that they could have gotten food stamps because of the LVRJ article.

And please remember, the Democrats are slashing the Food Stamp budget for teachers and other public union members.

Update: I apologize for the poor graph. I couldn't copy and paste and this web site did not let me to create a graph. Just go to the link and it will loook much better.

His home run is one of the all time biggest moments in baseball.

Pawn Stars vs Hard Core Pawn Or Jerry Springer Vs NPR

Tonight was the beginning of the Pawn Store wars. Pawn Stars vs Hard Core Pawn.
Start with the store, Hard Core pawn store- American Jewelry and Loan, has a much bigger store than the Gold and Silver shop, or any other pawn store in Vegas. It has far more items for sale than Gold and Silver.
Second, the location of the stores. Las Vegas vs Detroit. Enough said.
Third, clientele: Pawn Stars- calm and collected. Hard Core Pawn- Jerry Springer material.
Employees: Both are family run.
Well, clearly, Hard Core Pawn, at this time, is not an Operation Repo, where they stage their shots.
Fourth: Things to be pawned: About the same, though Pawn stars deal a lot more in historic items. Though the horse, pony and donkey in Hard Core Pawn was interesting. This is something that should have happened In Vegas, as we have a lot of horse farms and wild donkeys. The AJL bought the animals for $1250, though the pony on the stripper poll was a little weird.
Fifth: Dickering, about the same. AJL, a little bit more rough, Gold and silver, more smooth, at least on camera.
Sixth: Knowledge of items: The same
Seventh: Side shots off the selling floor: about the same.
Eighth: Continuing stories: Pawn stars basic story line is they see the product, they will call in a in expert. Other times, they will attempt to try and a story line and most of the time, it fails miserably.
Hard Core Pawn has stories and they continue between segments and even episodes. It is a lot smoother than Pawn Stars.
So, in essence, the shows compare like the Jerry Springer show (AJH) vs NPR (Pawn Stars).
Each has it qualities and drawbacks and I like both shows.

Is Dina Titus Telling The Truth In Her Latest Ad?

Dina Titus, PhD, is running a new advertisement saying she is helping people with their mortgages.
From the Las Vegas Sun: "Titus, a Democrat, has made the foreclosure crisis the top priority, and she features several families who faced -- and staved off -- foreclosure in her ad.
"I made over 100 calls to the bank, but Dina made them listen to us," Marisol Repko tells the camera.
"Dina helped us renegotiate our loan," Cate Costanzo explains.
"And she saved our home," Chatauna Robinson says"

http://www.lasvegassun.com/blogs/nevada-wonk/2010/aug/16/dina-titus-focuses-foreclosures/
So, here is the problem. If you go to the Clark County Court web pages and look for cases involving these people mentioned, there is nothing listed. So, how close were they to filing foreclosure?
Did Titus or the Las Vegas Sun exaggerate these people's closeness to foreclosures?
I have no doubt that these people may have had problems with their loans and they asked Titus for her office's help. I think that Titus's people probably called the bank on their behalf. I am also sure that they did not get federal help with their mortgages, which is a plus.
But, these people were not close to losing their homes. They were not foreclosed on and there was no court action against them to start foreclosure proceedings.
So, a little white lie in politics. I guess that is what they teach in political science courses at UNLV.
Or did the Las Vegas Sun lie for Dina Titus?

Poor Obama Kid

It's one thing to take you kid on a family vacation (how many have they had now?) It's another to use the kid in a photo op. Doesn't the Obama child look thrilled? Or is she having a "get me outta here" moment.
(the other thing that looks strange- Obama and Michelle are walking down the course, putter in hand. The child is just sitting there, without her club. How strange is that, especially when they don't have caddies on putt-putt courses.)

New Season For Pawn Stars: August 16, 2010 Review

Well, we are a cross roads of Pawn Stars. There is a new kid on the block, Hard Core Pawn, so will the Pawn Stars succeed or fall to the competitors?

In the first episode, the first guy, former employee, brought in a grenade from WW II. It's a rare looking grenade and not the usual pineapple looking type grenade. The grenade was made by Eastman Kodak, not exactly a Kodak moment they used to advertise. Tony, the expert came in said the grenade came from the OSS, which was the precursor of the CIA. The guy bought it for $5. The guy wanted $1600, and Rick took the offer.

The next guy, Lou, who lives in a trailer court, like the ones around Cabana and Vegas Valley Dr., on th east side of the Valley. He had a nickel Peep show machine, perhaps from the fifties. The pictures were not. Not from the fifties but maybe the 80's.. The guy wanted to sell it for $4000 but Rick didn't want it for his store because the pictures were graphic for the kids who visit the store. Like my son. No sale.

The next guy brought in a toy Harley Davidson motorcycle. The toy was over 50 years old. The toy was operable and it drove, almost off the counter. The guy wanted $1200 but it was used and had no box and Rick offered $300. They dickered to $450 and it was a deal.

The next guy came in with an old candy machine. Select-O-Candy machine was the brand. It had penny candy in it, real penny candy, like gum or suckers. The guy wanted $100. Rick didn't think it would sell and so there was no sale. This part turned into a commercial for Subway.

The next man brought in a Paul Revere coin- Massachusetts Pine Tree coin. It was in rough shape and brown in color. The guy wanted $100,000 for it. The coin turned out to be a fake and so no sale. The guy is going to get a second opinion. Be interesting to see how that turns out.

The next lady brought in some JFK memorabilia. Some of things included matches from the White House and a pennant, which was not in good shape. She wanted to sell it and offered and the Old Man offered $30 and then $55 so it was a deal.

The last segment was a commercial for Subway. Very disappointing ending, to say the east. Hopefully, it was a not a"jump the shark" moment.

In the second episode, the first guy brought in some "education" money from the late 1890's. It looked like real money but not real money.(maybe it was, the episode really didn't make it clear) It was art on money. The guy paid $7500 at an auction. Time for an expert, Leonard, someone we have not seen before. Leonard pointed out the different art works on the bills. He thought the collection was worth about $10,000, which the guy wanted. Rick offered $8000. The final offer was $8500 and it was a sale. I think they are on sale in the shop, from when I visited the shop the other day. When you deal with old money, there is no dickering allowed- what the sale price is the price is what you pay. That is not true with the other items in the store.

The next guy brought in some photo's from the Spanish-American war. They were from training camp. The guy wanted $225 and Rick offered $100 and that was the deal.

The next guy brought in an old gaming set that had several gambling games in it. It had chips, a roulette wheel, cards, dice etc. It was from J.D. Borthwick. In the bottom of the box was guns and knives. Rick thought it was the coolest thing ever to come in his shop. Time for an expert, Sean. Sean had some doubts about the contents of the box. After going through the items, he said it was legitimate. He thought it was worth $6-7000, as is. The guy decided to not to sell, even though the men were offering $6000. That is unheard of on this show.

The next guy came in with an old Geiger counter. It was an antique counter, from the 1950's. It was unknown if it would work because of the lack of radioactive material in the store. Rick offered $30 so, but the guy declined the offer.

The last guy brought in an old scooter, Wee Wheelers Scooter. It was a push scooter and my kid has one and the Old Man had one when he was a kid. Scooters have been around for a long time. The guy wanted to sell it for $400 but the Old Man offered $100 and then $150. That is what it sold for.
so, it will interesting to see how the show does against the new kid on the block. I hope they don't do any lame commercials for Subway and other lame acting on the show. They are too good for that.
So, until next week...

Juveniles In Charge At the White House? Well, Duh!

Richard Rahn, from the Washington Times has an interesting post: The bad news is that the economy is not growing or creating jobs as the juveniles who control Washington predicted. Most clear-thinking adults, even without formal training in economics, can understand that if the government greatly increases regulations on business (not justified by serious cost-benefit analysis) and increases taxes on labor and capital, the cost of doing business will rise; hence, businesses will have to hire fewer workers. Obviously, these basic concepts have eluded a majority of the members of Congress and many in the administration because this is precisely what they have been doing.
When reporting on a government action, newscasters often have to say, "I am not making this up." Bloomberg just reported that the
Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has agreed to insure a mortgage "that enables buyers to make a down payment of as little as 3.5 percent in a building where apartments are listed from $820,000 to $3 million." Did we not just have a housing bubble and financial meltdown that was caused, in part, by government encouraging people with too little money to buy more housing than they could afford? And what sort of mental process takes place in a "mind" that thinks it is a good idea for some hard-working family in Peoria with an income of $50,000 a year to be guaranteeing (i.e., subsidizing) a mortgage so that some New Yorker can live in a $3 million apartment? This is precisely what the FHA program will do.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/16/juveniles-in-charge/
So, as I have posted before, thank you to all the people all over the country who have bailed out Nevada homeowners, who, either by losing income or a job, made a fraudulent loan application, was defrauded by a private business etc.
And since I live an apartment, I guess I am subsidizing these people who have been foreclosed on.
Juveniles in charge at the White House and those in Congress. Indeed.

Gay Marriage Put On Hold

The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court Of Appeals has put a ban on gay marriages pending appeal. from Fox News: California's ban on gay marriage will continue until at least December according to a court order issued late Monday.
The decision of a three judge panel of the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals means the Golden State's gay marriage ban will remain in effect until at least early December when oral arguments are scheduled.
District Court Judge Vaughn Walker's ruling earlier this month invalidating the California law, known as Prop 8, was a huge victory for gay rights supporters. Monday's ruling puts that decision on hold but there's a clear indication from the Ninth Circuit that there may be a serious problem with the appeal.
Monday's two page order specifically directs Prop 8 supporters to address whether they have the legal ability to challenge Judge Walker's decision. "In addition to any issues appellants wish to raise on appeal, appellants are directed to include in their opening brief a discussion of why this appeal should not be dismissed for lack of Article III standing," the order says.Read more:
http://liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/08/16/californias-gay-marriage-ban-extended/#ixzz0wpRJJM5s
I have to admit that I am surprised by this ruling. The 9th is the most liberal appeals court in the land and I thought they would allow the gay marriages occur.
So, a GOP appointed judge rules for gays, who were represented by a very conservative lawyer and are over ruled by a liberal court of appeals.

Billy Murray couldn't have said it better.

Hey, I Am 302,647 In The U.S.

According to the Alexa web site, I have the 302,647 busiest web site in the U.S.
That's pretty high until you consider how many companies, bloggers, news agencies and porn sites that have been a lot longer than I have been, so i am pretty happy.
And when comparing other blogging web sites I visit, I do pretty darn good, especially compared to liberal web sites.
So, thank you for all those people that visit here on a regular basis. I hope you are somewhat entertained here.
Thanks for everyone's support.
No more gloating.

Run Democrats Run

But I have to give Harry Reid credit for embracing Obama. Obama and Reid are siamese politicians.

Food Prices Going Up

This is not a scientific survey, but I have noticed that food prices are going up fairly fast on the basics.
Skim milk at Wal-Mart has gone from $2.08 to a $2.34 a gallon, a 12% increase.
24 pack of Sam's Club soda went from $3.48 to $4.98
Some fresh produce and meat products have gone up. Most cereals have also gone up, as well.
I know our grocery bills have gone up at least 5-10% in the past 2 months or so and we are not extravagant shoppers. We buy the cheap stuff most of the time and compare items before we buy.
While other items may keep the cost of living prices down, food prices seem to be going up.
And the Democrats want to take away more food stamp money from the poor. As Mel Allen would say, "How about that!"

Joe Heck Actually Working At Real Job

The LVRJ reports that Dr. Joe Heck is working at different jobs to see what it is like to do different jobs.
http://www.lvrj.com/news/sandoval-takes-reid-s-debate-bait-100747949.html
Today, he is working as a mechanic at a Midas shop in the "Joe Knows Jobs" tour.
Meanwhile, Dina Titus, PhD, still is working to try find a job other than education or politics. Maybe she will actually do a real job in her life.

We'll see in a couple of hours.

Breaking News: Harry Reid's Web Site Showing His Close Tie To Religion

Harry Reid and his followers has constantly criticized Sharron Angle of her close ties to her religion but there is a web site Harry Reid on a federal government web site that shows his ties to religion and politics.
The web site: http://democrats.senate.gov/faith.cfm
From the web site: As Democratic Leader, I’ve made outreach to the faith community a top priority and have had the great privilege of meeting with leaders of many faiths. I’ve talked with Protestant ministers about the immorality of a budget that cuts programs for the neediest among us while rewarding those with the most. I’ve discussed immigration and poverty with Catholic Bishops, and I’ve met with Jewish leaders to discuss ways we can help hardworking families across this country.
My discussions have only reinforced the belief that the Democratic Party and people of all faiths share many values and goals, and I intend to continue my outreach in the months ahead. As part of this effort, it is my honor to introduce you to this website – A Word to the Faithful. It’s dedicated to illustrating how people of faith and Senate Democrats can work together to lift our neighbors up and achieve our common goals

After meeting with religious leaders in Las Vegas, Senator Harry Reid announced plans to hold a Faith Based Services Symposium. The goal of the symposium is to assemble religious leaders and social service advocates from the Las Vegas area to develop a community plan to address un-met needs in areas such as affordable housing, homelessness, drug prevention, ex-offender re-entry, gang intervention, youth programs, and senior services.
Participants include: Maureen Shea, Director of Government Relations, The Episcopal Church USA; The Most Rev. Frank T. Griswold Presiding Bishop and Primate The Episcopal Church; The Rev. Dr. Clifton Kirkpatrick, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA); Rev. Eleanora Giddings Ivory, Director of the Presbyterian (USA) Washington Office; Rev. Ron Stief, Director UCC Justice and Witness Ministries and Jim Winkler, General Secretary, The General Board of Church and Society of The United Methodist Church.
Senator Reid convened his second meeting with leaders from Mainline Protestant denominations. Both Senator Reid and leaders from the denominations have all called the Budget a moral document noting that the Budget reflects our priorities as a nation. During this meeting they also discussed what can be done during the Budget Reconciliation process to restore funding in areas such as Medicaid, Food Stamps and other programs that provide for those in need.

PGA Championship- PGA Weasels Screwed Johnson

I was going to write a post about how great a PGA championship Whistling Straits golf course in Kohler WI., was. The views of the golf course was splendid. The competition was great... Until the last hole in regulation, when Dustin Johnson got screwed.
Johnson hit a ball into the crowd, where the crowd has been for all four rounds and it landed in a small patch of sand.
No one on site of the shot said the ball was in a bunker. No official, player, caddy or crowd.
The area looked liked it was only a few feet long and it was trampled and had foot prints on it.
The weasel PGA official said that anything could be considered a bunker- any size- the size of his hand or arm. WTF??? So, now, any flat spot without grass now can be considered a bunker? That's what PGA weasel said.
Whistling Straits has over 1000 bunkers. Was each one mapped? Was this "bunker" mapped?
So, instead of having a great PGA Open at Whistling Straits, we have a questionable call by a PGA weasel(s) that has ruined the tournament.
No matter who wins now, this bogus ruling will be the one thing remembered about the tournament.

Democrats And Harry Reid To Steal More Money From Food Stamps?

From The Hill: "Democrats who reluctantly slashed a food stamp program to fund a state aid bill may have to do so again to pay for a top priority of first lady Michelle Obama.
The House will soon consider an $8 billion child nutrition bill that’s at the center of the first lady’s “Let’s Move” initiative. Before leaving for the summer recess, the Senate passed a smaller version of the legislation that is paid for by trimming the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps.

The proposed cuts would come on top of a 13.6 percent food stamp reduction in the $26 billion Medicaid and education state funding bill that President Obama signed this week.
Food stamps have made multiple appearances on the fiscal chopping block because Democrats have few other places to turn to offset the cost of legislation."

http://thehill.com/homenews/house/114271-dems-consider-more-food-stamp-cuts-to-fund-child-nutrition-bill
Remember a few weeks back when the GOP was ripped for not passing the unemployment bill, saying it is heartless to the unemployed to not keep paying them?
Well, isn't it heartless when the Democrats take food stamp money for the poor?
Can we say hypocrites?

R.I.P Jack

In a few more hours, Jack FM, 100.5 will be led to the gallows and hanged. In it's place will be 840 AM and their talking heads.
So, the two story pink building on Sahara and Rainbow will go silent of classic hits.
R.I.P. Jack, it was nice knowing you.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

So, what's wrong with this picture?
Well, President Obama is eating a bunch of crayfish (crawfish) from Louisiana. Crayfish are fresh water fish, usually found in streams. (I used to catch them in the Menomonee River in Wauwatosa, WI., when I was a lad)
To the best of my knowledge, no inland freshwater streams were affected by the oil spill in the Gulf. To make me feel better, I'd prefer if he ate some salt water fish instead to show us how safe it is to eat fish from the gulf.
Knowing that, I wonder where Obama got his shrimp?
BTW, I wonder how much Zatarains paid to get their bottle in the picture? Nice product placement.

Jon Ralston To Resign!!!?

In Jon Ralston's latest Sunday rant against Republicans, he says this about John Ensign, a perverted senator and a person, in the past I have called on to resign: "Of all the myriad character traits Ensign possesses — skillful liar, world-class hypocrite, brilliant poseur — resignation would require him to have the one thing he so clearly lacks"
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/aug/15/galling-letter-ensign-sent-raise-money-his-legal-d/
Well, Jon, you are a liar. From the fake Tea Party Candidate to claiming you see 3 polls showing Harry Reid in front of Sharron Angle, you have proved yourself to be a liar.
World class hypocrite: Considering you have admitted that you throw softball questions to liberals, especially Harry Reid, you, sir are a first class hypocrite.
Definition of poseur: "somebody who tries to impress others by behaving in an affected way"
http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_1861737805/poseur.html
Jon, that defines you to a T. You try to impress the liberal party by pretending you are smart but instead you show yourself as a liar, someone who lacks ethics and a racist.
So, Jon, when are you going to resign?

Breaking News: 8 People Killed At Car Race In San Bernidino CA.

Eight people have killed at a rally car race close to St. Lucerne, CA., which is in the desert in San Bernadino County, CA.
Most, obviously were spectators at the race and my guess is that there was not enough fencing or protection for spectators.
Reports indicate that a car went out of control and plowed into the crowd.
Reports are sketchy at this time.

Las Vegas Football Bars

It's football time in the Valley and it's time to go to your favorite football bars in Clark County.
I am beginning to research different football bars in the Las Vegas area but to get you started, here is the LVRJ's list from last year. I am sure an updated version will come out in a few weeks.
http://www.lvrj.com/living/57603242.html
If you know of any football bars in Vegas, I will be happy to post information about those bars.
