Nevada State Government Shuts Down For This?

Nevada State government shut down on orders of Governor Jim Gibbons for a snowstorm that produced 6-12 inches of snow. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/dec/07/northern-nevada-snow-prompts-closure-state-offices/
Come on, 6-12 inches shuts down the government in Northern Nevada? They are used to that kind of weather in the winter. It's not like this was down in Alabama.
Sounds like Gibbons is going for the state employees vote in the upcoming election by giving them a 3 day weekend. Gibbons just keeps embarrassing himself..

  1. You obviously don't live where it snows. It was more like 12-18 inches of snow and NO snow plows thanks to Washoe County and Carson City! I thank the Governor and all the agency Directors for looking out for their employees safety. There were trucks and cars off the road everywhere because of people like you who don't have a clue!

  2. So, the entire town was shut down? No grocery stores were open? Hotels closed down? Pharmacies closed? Gas stations? Mini Marts? Casinos?
If the private sector can be open, then so can government?
