The Wisconsin Badgers are going officially going to the Rose Bowl which will played on January 1 in Pasadena CA. They will play TCU and the game will be on ESPN.
Other interesting items from the Bowl schedule:
All three military academies will play in a bowl game. Navy will play in the Poinsettia, Air Force in the Independence and Army will play in the Armed Forces Bowl. The last time this happened was in 1963.
The Las Vegas Bowl will be one of the best bowls, including the BCS games when Boise state plays Utah.
Oklahoma plays UConn in the Fiesta Bowl and my prediction is that game will be a blow out with Oklahoma winning by at least 30.
University of Nevada -Reno will play in the Fight Hunger Bowl against Boston College.
The state of Florida has 6 teams in the bowl games.
Does anybody care about the GoDaddy Bowl? Middle Tennessee vs Miami of Ohio? Maybe GoDaddy ought to stick to NASCAR and Danica Patrick.
Will This be Joe Pa's last game when Penn State plays Florida in the Outback Bowl?
If I were Hawaii University, I'd be pissed to be playing in the Hawaii Bowl. However, Tulsa, I am sure loves the opportunity. I am also sure that a team like Northwestern, Northern Illinois, Michigan and other cold weather cities would have liked to play in Hawaii on December 24th.
The Military Bowl doesn't have any military academies in the game.
There are 35 games, using 70 teams. There are 120 FBS teams Division 1 teams. You really have to be a bad team to not play in a Bowl game. Sorry, UNLV, maybe next year.

ReplyDeleteActually, I think a lot more University of Hawaii fans will buy tickets for the Hawaii Bowl than they would for any other bowl game. The cost of bowl travel from Hawaii is out of reach of most of their fans.
