From the files of "Stupid People Do Stupid Things", From Firehouse.com: Orange County firefighters extricated a man from a hollow trunk of a tree Tuesday morning after deputies heard his screams for help, according to The Register.
Crews responded after the man was found trapped in the tree around 10:30 a.m. at Los Alisos Boulevard and Paseo de Valenica in Laguna Hills.
Fire officials said the man climbed into a narrow hole at the base of the tree that led to about four or five feet underground.
Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion told the newspaper that it took firefighters about 90 minutes to cut through the branches of the tree to free the man.
The only body parts visible were the man's head and arms.
