The Food Grinch Hits CCSD

Today, my daughter came home complaining that the club she belongs to-Book Club, cannot hold a planned bake sale to raise funds for their club.  The reason?
Apparently, the advisor of the club told the students that the Superintendent of CCSD sent out a directive saying that bake sales can no longer be held because bake sales were not healthy- too much sugar.
While I don't know if the actual Superintendent sent out the memo of if it was one of Dwight Jone's minions, but it doesn't surprise me.  Apparently, the administration, who are a long way away from the classrooms, seem to think that kids will buy healthy food, like apples, pears, broccoli and cauliflower.
So, now the food police strike a school district and this time they strike here at home, in the Clark County School District.
(oh, and what did we have from the government lunchroom- chocolate milk, chocolate brownie, burrito or pizza and some kind of sherbet or ice cream- how healthy is this?)
