Pawn Stars Review: December 17, 2012

Sorry again, for the belated post- computer problems.
Big news this week from Pawn Stars as Olivia was fired from the Gold and Silver shop for appearing in an R-rated web site, Suicide Girls.  I wonder if they are going to mention this in the show, if this was a set up for something bigger or it was a legitimate firing.
From the first episode on December 17th:  the first scene we is Olivia putting up Christmas decorations.
The customer brought in a Christmas menu from 1912 from Alcatraz prison.  http://www.nps.gov/alca/index.htm
It was a restaurant style menu and had some pretty good food, including turkey, oyster dressing assorted vegetables etc.
The lady wanted $25,000 for the menu but Rick said he thought he could not sell it so no sale.
The story line of the show was the Christmas party.  The Old Man didn't want to have the party but Chumlee offered to arrange the party.
The next guy brought in a fighter pilot leather jacket from World War 2.  The pilot was a member of the Hell Hawks squadron but Rick was skeptical because it was from the United States Navy instead of the Army Air Corp.
The guy wanted $10,000 and time for an expert, Mark.  Mark said the jacket was from World War 2 and the pilot was from the Hell Hawks but a different Hell Hawks from the Marines and they were a naval air group.  Rick offered $1500 and the guy went down to $4000.  Rick offered $2000 and that was the selling price.
The next guy brought in an old Los Angeles Dodgers stadium seat, from Dodger Stadium.  The guy wanted $300. Corey said the seat wasn't valuable and there was no sale.

The next lady brought in a pink 1978 Fiat Spider with eye lashes on the headlights.  I am sure I have seen this car around town once or twice. She said that if she got money, she would donate money to a dog rescue.
The car was in great shape considering the car was a 1978.  The lady wanted $4000 and Corey called in Danny.  Some of the wheels had rust on them and was in an accident and the paint job was bad.  Danny did not recommend they buy the car so there was no sale.
Chumlee tried to get Danny throw the at his shop but instead they were going to have the party at Danny's bar. It's called Vamps and is on West Sahara: http://www.vampdvegas.com/  The guys forced Chumlee to wear a Santa Claus outfit.
In the 2nd episode, the first scene had Chumlee in a Santa Claus- it looked like he would scare every little child that saw him. They had a secret Santa with a $50 limit.
The first guy brought in some documents that followed a man's military career and the documents had different signatures of 7 different presidents.  The guy also brought in the medals of the soldier as he went up in rank to Brigadier General.  The military guy's name Lorenzo W. Cooke.  He had signatures of Taft, Teddy Roosevelt, Chester Arthur, McKinley, among others.
The guy wanted $12,000 and time for an expert, Rebecca.  She said one of the signatures were not real- Andrew Johnson, but the rest of the signatures were real.  She said the documents were worth about $10,000.  (Just wondering, but they brought Rebecca) in as a handwriting expert even though she is a book store manager?  What happened to their other hand writing experts?)
Rick offered $5000 and the guy came down to $6500.  Rick was firm at $5000 and that was the selling price.
The next guy brought in a poster from the movie Bullitt: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062765/
and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullitt
The guy wanted $350 and said the poster is from Europe (Italy)  Corey offered $200 and then $250 and that was the selling price.
The next brought in a 15th century Cross Bow.  Rick said it was the first bullet and the cross bow was quite heavy.  The guy wanted $12,000 for the cross bow.  Time for an expert, Craig.  He said the cross bow was used to protect castles.  Part of the cross bow was made of bone.  Craig said the cross bow would be worth about $10,000.  Rick offered $5000 and the guy came down to $10,500 and Rick offered $7500 and there was no sale.
For the Secret Santa, Chumlee rigged the Secret Santa so that everyone drew his name and he would end up with 50 gifts. Coal for the boy.
In the last segment, they were at the Christmas party with their employees and experts.  To get back at Chumlee who had rigged the Secret Santa, Chumlee didn't get 1 present but did get his yearly bonus.
Thanks for stopping by and sorry for the lateness of the post.
