About a year ago, the LVRJ changed their policy regarding commenting on their stories and editorials. They made people who wanted to comment had to sign up for Facebook and many people obviously rebelled.
Well, now recently, the Las Vegas Review Journal has quietly changed their commenting policy again. Now, they have turned to Disqus and allows people who have registered at Google, Yahoo, Facebook and a couple other sites.
Apparently relying on Facebook wasn't working out for them and I have a feeling other newspapers who rely on Facebook only will find out the same thing.
