Pawn Stars Review: June 13, 2013

It's been a hot week in Las Vegas, with highs close to 112F this past week but things have calmed down, where the highs are just around 100, about normal for this time of year.
Last week, apparently, Chumlee had a prank played on him on the show, but another, more sinister prank was played on Chumlee as we was said to be dead from a pot overdose.
From CP Entertainment: Chumlee of "Pawn Stars" has been the subject of an Internet death hoax this week.
Rumors of a marijuana overdose were reported this week, claiming that the reality TV star had died from an accident.
The rumors went viral with many of Chumlee's fans expressing their sadness and shock that he had died, and from a drug overdose at that. However, Chumlee soon stunned the fans even further when he took to his Twitter account, revealing that the rumors were simply a hoax and that he was alive and well.
There were a few days between the death rumors first starting and Chumlee debunking the rumors as a hoax, and in that time the news of his death had already spread far and wide.
"#not #dead #chumlee #magic #howto #selfie (sic)," Chumlee tweeted along with a Vine video.

Pot overdose?  Seriously?


On today's first episode, the first guy brought in a Swiss Doxa pocket watch.  On the outside of the watch had a hunting scene with a man on a horse, hunting a boar or pig.  http://www.doxawatches.com/
The guy wanted $500 and Rick offered $400 and then $450.  The guy went to $475 and that was the sale price.
In the story segments, it shows Corey working out in the warehouse with a trainer but the Old Man didn't like it too much.

Rocy probably was one of the greatest boxers ever. 
The punching bags weighed around 100 pounds and the guy had 2 bags.  The guy had some affidavits that Rocky used these bags, but some of the evidence was the seller's family.  The guy wanted $300,000 and the other $75,000.  Corey wanted an expert to come down to prove they were real.  Jeremy was the expert and he said he could not prove that the bags were Rocky's. 
Corey didn't want to take a chance and there was no sale.

They were educational slides and were in business 1892 until 1972.
The guy had numerous pictures from around the world.  The guy wanted $17,000 and then $2-5 each or about $1365 and then $273 and then $50.  There was no sale.
In the end, they put up a punching bag in the warehouse and when the Old Man wanted to hit the punching bag, they put in a Bozo the clown punching bag for him to hit.
In the second episode, Corey brought in his dog to the store and promptly laid down some doggy pooh(the dog, not Corey)  It's a Bull dog named Skiva.


The first guy brought in a wood carving of John F. Kennedy while he was at the first Nixon-Kennedy debate.
The carving shows Kennedy sitting down and was given to him and Kennedy replied with a letter from the U.S. Senate.
The guy wanted $2500 but Rick said the autograph was an autopen so it was no sale.

The guy got it from a prop store and had a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) .  The guy wanted $12,000.  Time for an expert, John Wayne's son, Ethan.
They called the writer of the COA and said the signature was real but the COA was fake.  There was no sale.
The story line was that Corey got a new motorcycle.  He got a Harley Davidson engine, called a knucklehead.  He like it and when he put it on it's kickstand, he dropped the bike on his side, causing some damage.  To me, it's kind of ugly.


The next lady, Dr. Dahlia, brought in a Civil War syringe and it was used for sexual transmitted diseases of men.  She wanted $300.  Rick offered $160 and that was the sale.
Maybe Corey's dog will become the new mascot of the shop, maybe replacing Chumlee.
