From the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune:
A 26-year-old Durand man got more than he bargained for when he tried to steal from a Hansen business owner, authorities say.
On June 20, Timothy K. Cole went to Hamel Forest Products, 5401 Highway D, Hansen, to fill out a job application. After the business owner left Cole alone for 45 minutes to do the paperwork, he came back to find the applicant in the owner’s pickup truck, according to a Wood County criminal complaint.
The business owner confronted Cole, and the two men went back inside the building. Cole became angry, started yelling at the owner and tried to take back his job application, according to the complaint.
The owner wanted to keep the application because it was the only way he had of identifying Cole. A struggle began when the owner attempted to keep Cole from leaving the building, according to the complaint.
Two employees arrived to help the owner, and Cole began kicking at the men and trying to get away, according to the complaint.
For their own protection and to keep Cole from leaving, the men used duct tape to bind Cole’s feet together, Wood County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Quentin Ellis said. When a deputy arrived on scene, he found the duct-taped man waiting for him. http://www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com/article/20130711/WRT01/307110323/Authorities-say-would-thief-captured-held-by-duct-tape
