Bally Shooting:Talk About Your Prejudices

The shooting down at Bally's was horrible enough, but when you read some of the hundreds of comments left at the LVRJ web site, many people assumed it was a Black guy doing the shooting.  And some people I knew also thought this (and they are Black)  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/good-samaritan-killed-2-others-injured-shooting-strip
Maybe because the shooting happened at 6 in the morning at a nightclub that plays dance music.
Maybe they are prejudiced.  Or stupid.  Or going with the averages.
But reality is another thing.
The thug shooter is white.
And the person, who tried to protect the security personnel after they were shot was Black.
The hero was Black.
The thug was white.
Channel 13 had the story on their 11:00 news but they have not posted the story or the hero's picture yet.  But he is a 40 year old man from Las Vegas.
As for the thug, the people who finally stopped him gave him a beating so bad that he is still in a coma.  What a damn shame.
So RIP to the hero who died helping save the life of two strangers and thoughts and prayers to his family.
