From the Stevens Point, WI, Journal: A 35-year-old Plover man who told a detective he was selling methamphetamine to save money for his wedding was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison.
Pao Xiong was charged after police searched his home Aug. 25, 2016, and found more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, along with more than $24,000 in cash, according to a criminal complaint.
Xiong admitted he had been selling methamphetamine for about four or five months and told a detective he was saving money for a wedding he was planning in Laos, the complaint says. A detective investigating the case estimated Xiong likely sold at least 20 ounces — more than a pound — of methamphetamine in Plover and the surrounding area....
Portage County Assistant District Attorney Cass Cousins said Xiong was financially motivated to commit the crime, which Cousins described as “profiting from the addiction of others.”
David Casey, Xiong’s attorney, said Xiong doesn’t have a significant criminal record and was extremely cooperative with police after he was arrested.
“When he gets out he wants to get a job and work hard and never be in trouble again,” Casey said.

My guess the wedding is off but who knows, maybe the future Mrs. Xiong likes his entrepreneurial spirit.
