Is It Kill A Cop Week Or Month?

In 24 hours, two police officers have been killed in St. Petersburg, Florida and 9 others have been shot throughout the country. Two other officers were killed in Miami Flordia last week. Some cops are thinking it is an effort to kill or shoot cops.
From Fox News:
Authorities are worried a recent wave of police officer shootings may not be a coincidence.
In just 24 hours, at least 11 cops were shot around the country.
The most recent incident at a fugitive's house in St. Petersburg, Fla., left two officers dead and a U.S. marshal wounded Monday. Hours earlier, an Oregon officer was critically wounded after being shot multiple times during a traffic stop.
Monday's violence followed a bloody Sunday that left an officer in Indianapolis critically wounded during a traffic stop shooting, four officers in Indianapolis wounded after a gunman opened fire in a precinct and two more officers in Washington wounded in a shootout in a Walmart parking lot.
"It's not a fluke," Richard Roberts, a spokesman for the International Union of Police Associations,
told MSNBC.com. "There's a perception among officers in the field that there’s a war on cops going on." http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/01/24/authorities-fear-cops-targeted-officers-shot-hours/?test=latestnews
None of these shootings are connected in any way. But you have to face reality, cops, through perception are having a rough time.
In Las Vegas,, there have numerous police shootings. Most are legitimate, but once the word gets out that a police officer fires a gun, the anti-cops crowd were already condemning the cops. But then some cases in Vegas, especially Metro, there have been some questionable shootings, like the drug dealer on the northeast side who made a "furtive" movement and the case of Erik Scott in Summerlin.
Cops have also been demonized by people like Obama, when he made false accusations when cops arrested a grumpy old liberal professor in Massachusetts.
Then, you have the usual community "activists" who condemn the cops for everything they do in arresting people in minority neighborhoods but then bitch that cops aren't around when something bad happens.
Then you have bad economic conditions, especially in the inner cities of America where most of the shootings have taken place, people are desperate and willing to take some people out with them and go out in a shootout like the OK Corral. Further, when rappers and other inner city thugs/entertainers and television portray cops as bad, people lose respect for the cops.
Finally, it seems like cop killing and shooting is spreading north from Mexico, where police shooting and killings happen very frequently. Juarez, Mexico lost about 60 or more police officers last year alone and many more were killed throughout Mexico.
But whatever the reason, it seems like police officers are being targeted more often and they are being shot and injured and killed more often.
So, to the cops, be careful out there. More and more people are are gunning for you and you may be next, if you are not careful.

  1. I don't see anything wrong with the killing of a cop.
They put their pants on just as any other person.
They abuse people as any other person.
They have brought the raft of the citizen's down upon them.
    They deserve everything they get.
I find cop's to be the first on the line and the first to lie and the first to be corrupt.
    Just the facts mam!
