That's An Actual Job?

From the Reno Gazette Journal: Forest Service officials have agreed to move post-fire logging operations at Lake Tahoe farther away from nests with rare, black-backed woodpecker chicks at the request of conservationists who’ve been fighting the overall project for years.
But John Muir Project members — who have documented one nest in the path of the logging and suspect there are more — say the no-cut buffers the agency is implementing are far too small to protect one of the rarest birds in the Sierra Nevada.
“No credible black-backed woodpecker scientist would say it is enough — not even close,” said Chad Hanson, a wildlife ecologist and executive director of the group who has filed a petition seeking protection of the bird under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.

Black-backed Wood Pecker Scientist?  What are the qualifications and where do you go to school to become a Black Backed Woodpecker scientist?  How do they get paid?  More than likely that a Black Backed Wood Pecker scientist gets paid by you and me- the tax payer.
And for the record, the green loonies are extremely stupid.  They don't like the idea of logging dead trees and vegetation in hopes that it will  reduce the fire dangers.  These fools would rather risk a fire that will kill all the animals around, including the wood pecker.
The government agreed to stay away from the wood pecker's nest by 10 acres and that is not enough for the green monsters?
So, if  you are looking for a job, consider being a Black Backed woodpecker scientist or perhaps a yellow belly sap sucker scientist.  All you need to do is get the taxpayers, err government to pay your way.
