Speaking Of Stupid Editorial Writers....

Brian Greenspun, the editor of the Las Vegas has to be the dean of the School of Stupid Journalism Writers.
Of course, it was Greenspun who said that Florida needs to be hit by a hurricane just to prove a political point. http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2011/02/how-pathetic-las-vegas-sun-hopes-for.html
Now, he comes forth and says people are stupid and that we need truth TV channels.
From Coward Brian Greenspun: Where is the truth channel?
I know it is hard to believe, but I am still on speaking terms with a few bankers. It is easy to lump them all into one category of folks who don’t seem to give a damn about the problems we are all having, but the truth is that many of them are just as much at a loss for what to do in this new world as we are.....
Yeah, it's hard o believe you have any friends, but I guess you can buy friends with your inheritance money.
Mind you, it is impossible to hear the same truths on Fox News as you would hear on MSNBC. Regardless of the facts, the reporting of those facts will be diametrically opposite when given voice by those empowered to comment on either of those two “news” stations. And that raises a major concern as one worries about the future of our democracy and the sources from which people garner their news and information....
If they are "news stations" then the Las Vegas Sun is a "newspaper".  Obviously, Greenspun doesn't like commentators spewing their facts on TV, but I guess it is ok for Greenspun to spew his facts from his little brain in the Las Vegas Sun?
That doesn’t make any sense. And yet, that is exactly what is driving the political debate in this country today. The cable news channels are just an example of the compartmentalization Americans are practicing.
All that has changed. People have access to instantaneous information, some of which is factual, and all of which is pounded over and over again from the mouths of paid shills into the brains of overworked and overwrought Americans who demonstrate daily an inability to process much more than 30-second sound bytes. And they remember even less!.....
So, now, Greenspun just called Americans stupid because they cannot process more than 30 second sound bytes.  Right.  Most people I know can process more than 30 second bytes- even liberals.  Perhaps people in Greenspun's crowd of "friends" cannot grasp much more 30 second sound bytes.
What if we had a truth channel, which would be good for our democracy, and no one was able to recognize it?  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2012/jun/24/time-change-another-channel/
So, who would be in charge of a truth channel?  The government?  Newspapers?
That's a scary thought that anyone would advocate a "truth channel", even in jest.  This is what a Hitler or Stalin or Pol Pot would suggest and try to implement.
So, once again, Brian "The Coward" Greenspun, shows his ignorance, stupidity and arrogance when he proposes to have a "truth channel".  Maybe he ought to concentrate on running his "newspaper"..
