From the Denver Post: As the U.S. economic recovery approaches its fourth year, the unemployment rate among blacks has started to rise again.
That
rate moved from 13.6 percent in January to 14.4 percent in June, while
the overall unemployment rate fell from 8.3 percent to 8.2 percent.
Add
in part-time workers who would rather be full time and workers who have
stopped looking but would start again if opportunities improved, and
the black underemployment rate is closer to 23 percent nationally,
calculates the Economic Policy Institute.
