Today was my first day coming back to Wal-Mart, and starting work as a cashier.
To become a Wal-Mart employee (associate), you first have to beat out hundreds of people who have applied for a job at that evil empire, Wal-Mart. When a job is opened up, there are between 200-600 people applying for the one job. If Wal-Mart is such a horrible place to work, why do so many people apply for jobs there?
Once you are hired for a job, you have to get a drug test, get a Tam card (alcohol awareness) and a health card, costing about $75 and also get pants and a shirt, suitable for where you work.
After that, you have to attend an orientation before you start at your store.
So, to those who think Wal-Mart will hire anybody- umm, not true. You have to be good and you have to have some ethics and you have to have some luck.
