From Arizona Central:
When Rumain Brisbon, an unarmed Black man, was killed Dec. 2 by a White Phoenix police officer, his death brought a local focus to the national debate on race and policing, with protesters demanding justice for a death they say follows a pattern of excessive use of force.
While Brisbon was not the first unarmed suspect to be shot by a Valley officer in recent years, records show that the vast majority of those on the receiving end of police gunfire were carrying a weapon themselves.
Of the 33 Maricopa County officer-involved-shooting cases tracked by The Arizona Republic in 2014, 28 instances, or 85 percent, involved an armed suspect or suspects, according to an analysis of police reports, official statements and court records. Two cases involved unarmed suspects, and in three instances it is unknown or unclear from initial reports whether the suspect or suspects were carrying a weapon.
In 2013, at least 42 cases out of 52, or 81 percent, involved suspects who were considered armed. In 10 cases, it is unknown or unclear whether the suspects had weapons.
Data maintained by prosecutors tells a similar story. Of the 160 officer-involved shootings reviewed by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office from 2011 through 2014, 144, or 90 percent, involved a suspect or suspects with a weapon. The office's numbers and percentages may differ slightly from The Republic's analysis because prosecutors may have received additional information or take on federal cases or cases in other jurisdictions, just as some Maricopa County cases may be investigated by other jurisdictions. http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/phoenix/2014/12/15/records-officer-shootings-involve-mostly-armed-suspects/20418495/
If you listen and read the reports from the liberal press, the racist Brothers of Barack, Eric, Jesse and Al, most of the victim's families and the tools and fools that march and riot, you would think that White cops are just looking for an excuse to kill a Black man or anyone else, for that matter.
But the reality is that most of the thugs were armed and most, if not all of the others, put the cops and other's lives and well being in danger... just like thug Michael Brown and 40 time arrested Eric Garner.
But 99.99% of cops would rather not shoot another person if they could avoid it.
Yes, accidents happen and very, very, very rarely, do you have a cop who shoots a person for the hell of it.
But you wouldn't know it if you listen to the media, the Racist Brothers and the fools and tools protesting and rioting.
