From the LVRJ:
North Las Vegas City Manager Gregory Rose is taking 30 days of executive leave effective immediately, he announced today.
When reached on his cell phone, Rose, who has served as city manager since late 2003, would not say why he was taking the time off. http://www.lvrj.com/news/breaking_news/North-Las-Vegas-city-manager-to-take-30-days-executive-leave-70411862.html
North Las Vegas is the state's 3rd largest city behind Las Vegas and Henderson. There are several reasons why the manager may have left, among others, finding another job, let time by so things can settle down in the city or other reasons.
Two things that stood out from the article: No mention of the Mayor of North Las Vegas- Michael Montandon and second, if Rose can take a 30 day leave with very little notice, does the city really need a city manager? Seriously, if an employee can disappear for 30 days and the city can function just fine without him, do they really need that employee? Somehow, I doubt it.
