Brett Favre has been accused of sending some racy text messages to a female who worked for the New York Jets as a hostess. It is being reported every day and the news media make it sound like it is the new Watergate scandal.
Seriously, the news media must be hurting for some serious news. The hostess did not bring this issue up, some web site did. From what has been reported, it doesn't even sound like she is after any money from Favre- she just wants this to go away.
Brett Favre has been silent. The NFL is investigating, but why? No crime was committed. It was a private conversation between two adults. We don't even know what the context of the messages are. What were the conversations and text messages before and after the gross texts occurred.? We don't know. And why should we even care.
Unless there has been a crime committed or he was harassing her continuously, the NFL ought to stay out of it. What ever happened to privacy in private conversations between adults. It is awfully scary when you think about it. How many people have sent out text messages in a private conversations that you regret sending. And how would you feel if the message got out, especially if the person who received the message did not release the texts. Pissed and violated is how I would feel.
So, let Favre play ball and retire with dignity and after the Packers beat the Viqueens tomorrow, may he have a great season.

I think it would qualify as "sexting" more than texting, when you send out pix of the frank 'n' beans to a lady who didn't ask for it. I'm with you though on how this is being drug out. I mean, isn't that stretching a little bitty thing a long way? Heh.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, so not caring about sports stars anyway, but that's the culture we live in.
