Pawn Stars Reveiw: June 13, 2011

Summer tis here finally in Las Vegas. Tomorrow should be the first day we reach 100 degrees this year. Of course, our landlords decided this was a good time to do swimming pool maintenance, instead of doing it in say February. In Las Vegas, most apartment complexes have swimming pools and I would guess that maybe 1/3 of the homes also have swimming pools at their home.
Two new episodes are on tonight. In the first episode the first guy brought in a a holster from the TV show Gunsmoke. It also came with a gun that fired only blanks, so it was a prop gun. The guy wanted $1200 and Rick offered $500. The guy went to $700 and that was the sale price.
The person brought in a Zepplin steel pull toy, which was kind of small. Talk about poor timing as a Goodyear Blimp blew up in Germany yesterday, killing the pilot.
Anyways, the guy wanted $400 and Rick offered $125 and then $175 and that was the selling price.
The next guy brought in a Marine helmet from WWI. Rick didn't know the value of the helmet and if it was fake so it is time for an expert, Paul. He said the helmet was real and thought it was worth between$900-1500. The guy wanted $1300 and Rick countered with $500 and $700. The sale price ended up to b $750.
Rick said they had a gym upstairs and he was going to hire a fitness trainer for Corey and Chumlee. He said that they were going upstairs to work our but the shop doesn't have a 2nd floor, as far as I know of but apparently, they do.. The trainer apparently was a NFL ex-football player, who, I don't know. The Old Man was there and was wearing a pair of loafers to work out and Chumlee, it was shown, has tattoos on his legs. The bit turned out to be a commercial for Subway. What a surprise and shock.
The next guy had clock made out silver dollars. The clock really wasn't pretty. The silver dollars were pretty old- Morgan and Peace silver dollars. The dollars looked good, but they were polished so the coins were not worth as much. Rick offered $125 based on the value of the silver in the coins and there was no sale.
In the 2nd episode, the first lady brought in a old document signed by John Hancock when he was the governor of Massachusetts, from 1780-85. The document said someone was going to be commissioned to be in the U.S. Navy of the time. Time for an expert, Dana. Dana thought it was a quite an important document. He thought the signature and document was real and authentic and worth about $10,000 to $15,000. Rick offered $4000 and the lady asked for $6500. The selling price was $5000. I think the lady was taken for a ride on this deal.
The next guy brought in a large print of Jimi Hendrix and it was a large photo. It was a limited print from Gered Mankowitz. Corey thought about giving this to Rick for Father's Day. The next guy brought in a 1934 by Rickenbacker electric guitar. Learned something new just now. I thought Les Paul invented the electric guitar. The guy wanted $2500, so time for another expert short haired Jesse from Cow Town guitars. This was a new guy from Cow Town. They plugged it is and it sounded like a ukulele from Hawaii. He thought the value was $2000-2500. The guy wanted $2000 and Rick offered $1500 cash money and that was the sale price.
The next guy brought in a Schwinn Motorbike, which was a Stingray bike with a motor on the front wheel. I've never seen one with a motor and neither did Corey. Corey wanted the bike only. The guy wanted $1000 and Corey offered $200 for the bike alone and then $250. No sale.
Rick bought the Old Man some chicken wings for Father's day, which kind of seem strange. Corey gave Rick the picture of Jimi Hendrix. The Old Man was pissed with the wings, so the Old Man hid the Hendrix picture in the employee bathroom.
