From the Las Vegas Sun: A 12-year-old girl hit by a vehicle Monday night near Sahara Avenue and Hualapai Way has died, according to Metro Police.
The girl was stuck around 8:22 p.m. by a Mazda at Blue Willow Lane and Sandstone Bluff, officials said. She was taken to University Medical Center.
Police, who are still investigating the scene, said she had been trick-or-treating. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/oct/31/12-year-old-struck-mazda/
How terribly sad and how terribly unnecessary. This is in the Lakes area of town and on a side street, a mostly higher class of town and there is no reason for a car to be going so fast that they kill someone trick or treating. Just wondering if this is an elderly driver? In the past week or so, we have had elderly drivers kill children in North Las Vegas and in Henderson.
What a waste and another youngster dies in the Las Vegas Valley.
