The City Of Henderson Is A Disgrace

Once and for all, the City of Henderson, NV. is just a disgrace. First, they hired Crybaby Harry Reid's son as the new city attorney, even, he originally was not qualified for the job, he had no experience for being a city attorney and only qualification Reid claimed to have was good schooling.
Now comes his compensation package from the City of Henderson: Josh Reid is in line to earn $190,000 a year when he starts work as the Henderson city attorney, a sum near the top of the pay scale for the position and the same salary former City Attorney Elizabeth Quillin earned.
The pay scale is $127,000 to $199,000 in Henderson, the second most populous city in Nevada....
In addition to being eligible for employee benefit plans afforded other city management personnel, the city would pay Reid $1,000 a month for three months to keep his COBRA health insurance benefits active until his 90-day waiting period ends and he becomes eligible for the city's plan.
The $3,000 the city will pay accounts for half of what Reid pays to his current employer. He will be responsible for paying the remaining $3,000, according to Human Resources Director Fred Horvath.
Reid's contract provides a generous severance package if the city terminates him without cause. He would be paid any accrued sick leave, banked holidays and annual leave -- as well as a lump sum payment equal to 12 months salary....
Under the proposed contract, Reid could also be paid a vehicle allowance of $550 a month and would be entitled to automatic cost-of-living adjustments. These two benefits would be available only if they are reinstated for managers. City officials last year canceled the car allowance and cost-of-living adjustments as part of an overall cost-cutting effort.
Reid would be paid to renew his Nevada State Bar license each year. The fee is $450 per year for attorneys licensed in Nevada for five or more years. So, Reid starts at the top of the pay scale instead of the bottom. This is especially galling because they had to lower the standards to allow him to apply for the job. The city has to pay his former employer $3000 for his health insurance. He gets a $550 a month car allowance and a possible cost of living raise. And if that wasn't enough, those of us who live in Henderson get to pay for his law license.
I am a CCSD teacher and the district doesn't pay for my license, so why should Henderson pay for his law license? We don't get to own his license, so why do we have to pay for it?
And $550 a month or $6600 a year for his car? Why? He works in downtown Henderson. Where else does he have to drive to?
It would be one thing if the City of Henderson was competing for a lawyer to work for them. But they had about 25 or more lawyers apply for the position, so they didn't have to give Reid the moon.
And to my council member, Debra March, if you vote for this outrageous contract, you will be just as disgusting as when you voted for this clown. You are a clown, Debra March and you do not represent the interests of the people who live in Henderson and you do not represent your constituents. You want to run with Crybaby Reid and suck up to him, fine, but when you lie with dogs....
And if you decide to run for re-election, I will do everything I can to promote a candidate other than you, even if they are the most liberal person out there. At least they will be honest, unlike you, who has been bought and paid for.
