That was the message from Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin on Friday after reports that offensive tackle Jonathan Martin left the team Monday following a team prank gone bad.
"We emphasize a culture of team first, accountability and respect for one another," Philbin said. "Any behavior that deviates from that is inconsistent with the values of our organization."
Philbin was asked if his team had a bullying problem.
"This is something we take very seriously, and it will not be tolerated."
The Dolphins announced Thursday that the second-year pro out of Stanford was seeking treatment for emotional issues.
FOX Sports 1 reported that Martin "kind of flipped out" after a prank in which his teammates got up and walked away after he tried to sit down with them on Monday in the Dolphins' lunch room. The joke didn't go over well with the 23-year-old Martin, who reportedly smashed his tray to the ground and bolted the facility.
That's all it took? Hell, that happens in middle school and if this rich millionaire can't take a joke, and it's not bullying, then he is not really strong enough mentally to be a pro football player.
