They Are Releasing Alligators In Chicago?

An American alligator swims in a tank at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, Texas, in September 2013. The aquarium gets a new batch of alligators every few years, allows them to grow to about two feet and then sends them back to Louisiana to be released into the wild. http://www.chron.com/news/texas/article/State-Aquarium-works-to-build-gator-population-4951234.php?cmpid=hpts
From the Chicago Tribune:
Police whisked 2-foot long “Allie’’ the alligator into a box after it was spotted it under an escalator at O’Hare Airport Friday morning.
A maintenance worker made the bizarre discovery in the lowel level of Terminal 3, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The unexpected trespasser was later transferred into the care of the Chicago Herpetological Society.  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-small-alligator-startles-officials-at-ohare-20131103,0,129357.story
