Carl Edwards got a 3 week probation for intentionally wrecking Brad Keslowski in Sunday's race at Atlanta. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar/cup/news/story?id=4979018
Edwards almost killed a guy on Sunday. If Keslowski's car just turned a little bit more, he could have easily died.
But, as I had said earlier, Edwards is a popular driver who brings in money for NASCAR and it's sponsors, so nothing would happen to him. If it had been Paul Menard, Robby Gordon or Dave Blaney, they would have been suspended for a race or two, a fine given and points taken away. Edwards, nothing. At the very least, he should have paid for Keslowski's car.
So, I guess, it seems like NASCAR is just like basketball, football and any other sport, money and popularity seems to outweigh commonsense.
