Dave Obey Resigns: Good Bye And Good Riddance

Dave Obey, D- WI, was my congressman for 5 long years and now he is resigning, joining the other Democrats that have fled the sinking ship that is called the November elections.
Obey is no slacker, he is probably the most powerful politician in Wisconsin as he has been in Congress for about 40 years and is the chairman if the House Appropriations Committee.
Dave Obey was a jerk and not a nice person. If you didn't like what he did, the thought your were trash- he really didn't care.
Now, the liberal newspapers, especially those from the Gannett newspapers have declared a 3 day of mourning.
This House seat will more than likely go GOP. Except for a few areas, the district is conservative. He had a real good chance he would have lost this election. His main support, union papermakers, are a thing of the past. Many paper making plants have shut down or laid off employees and so his main support is gone. He had some support around some small college campuses like U.W. Stevens Point and the Indian Reservation in Shawano County.
Dave Obey's politics did not fit the district.
Good riddance to the socialist David Obey and any one want to make a bet that he doesn't live in Wisconsin after November. Not that he lived in Wisconsin all that much now.
