We have been fortunate living in northeast Las Vegas to pretty much have oblivious to crime. Today, we met crime head on as Cathy's Vento scooter, Bat Girl was stolen during daylight hours.
The theft happened between 7Am and 2:00PM and whoever stole it had to have some very powerful tools. Cathy had tied up the scooter with some heavy duty locks and chains from OnGuard. Locks and chains so powerful that they guarantee you that your bike or scooter will not be stolen or they will replace the bike or scooter. We will see how they honor that guarantee. It's also possible that whoever got the scooter also got a motorcycle as well. There was a red Harley parked next to the scooter and it has not been seen by us today.
I might add, we called the 311 non emergency police line and they said they would send out an officer to take a report. Ok, we thought, about a 3-10 hour wait, but we actually had a Metro police cadet knocking on our door less than 20 minutes after we called 311. That was very impressive by Metro.
What really sucks is that we are moving in 3 days and instead of being parked outside, Bat Girl would have been brought into an attached garage. 3 frickin' days and she would have been safe.
So, farewell to Cathy's Bat Girl- we have a lot of memories of her and to the person who stole her, look out because if we find your ass, you won't have to worry about sitting down for a long, long time.
