Update On Illegal Alien Utah Cop Killer Case

On January 5, 2010, a Deputy Sheriff from Millard County, Josie Greathouse Fox was killed in cold blood by an illegal alien. For some reason, the murder did not receive much recognition in the national media for an illegal to be a cop killer.

The reason why the illegal thug killed the deputy because he thought the deputy pulled him over because he was Mexican. The thug was found in the Salt Lake City area a few days later.
The person who helped hide the thug, who also is an illegal alien, was on trial two weeks ago and was convicted of several charges.
From the Deseret Morning News: A man facing multiple charges for helping a friend suspected of killing a Millard County deputy sheriff elude authorities was found guilty on three counts but innocent on two others in 4th District Court.
A five-woman, four-man jury deliberated just over six hours Thursday before finding Ruben Chavez-Reyes guilty of obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony, and burglary of a non-dwelling and evidence tampering, both third-degree felonies. The jury acquitted him of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and burglary of dwelling, third-degree felonies.
Chavez-Reyes, 37, will be sentenced Oct. 29 in Fillmore.
Millard County sheriff's deputy Josie Greathouse Fox was gunned down Jan. 5 while making a traffic stop of a suspected burglar who was driving on U.S. 50 in Millard County. Roberto Miramontes Roman is charged with capital murder in the case. He reportedly told police he shot Fox with an AK-47 because he thought she pulled him over simply for being Mexican.
Prosecutors painted Chavez-Reyes as a loyal friend to Roman who was willing to help him get away with murder. The defense described him as a good person who was reluctant to help his friend and who didn't find out until later that a police officer had been killed.

This thug, the accomplice is also an illegal alien: "In addition, prosecutors argued that Chavez-Reyes would not be harmed by this "brief delay" since he already is in jail because he is in the United States illegally and immigration authorities have a hold on him."

As far as the illegal alien thug who pulled the trigger, he will stand trial on murder charges: Fillmore • With an AK-47 sitting in the passenger seat, Roberto Miramontes Roman saw flashing police lights behind him and grew angry, according to testimony Tuesday at his preliminary hearing.
Roman thought “the only reason he was stopped was he was Mexican,” said Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Higley. On the side of the highway Jan. 5 outside Delta, Roman watched out his right car windows, assuming a police officer would approach from that side.
Then on his left side, Higley said, Roman heard a “mean voice” call for his license and registration. When Roman saw the figure of a police officer in the corner of his left eye, Higley said, he pointed the barrel of the rifle out his driver’s window and fired.
“He said he heard the deputy scream,” Higley said on the witness stand. “He knew it was a girl at that time.”
Millard County Sheriff’s Deputy Josie Greathouse Fox died at the scene.
After testimony from Higley and others Tuesday, a judge ordered Roman, 38, to stand trial on charges of capital murder, witness tampering and illegal weapon possession. Roman pleaded not guilty to all three charges. It was the only time he spoke aloud Tuesday.
Prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty.

This is a shameful case and another reason why ICE and other agencies need to crack down on illegal immigration, especially illegals who commit crime. Clearly, some illegals have a mentality that they have every right to live in the U. S.. Obama's aunt does and clearly this thug that killed the deputy did as well.
Hopefully, the national media will pick up this story and follow it to it's conclusion.
