I was listening to the radio at 1:00 AM and heard an advertisement that threw me for a loop for a moment.
The commercial stated it was a organization for the blind and they wanted you to donate your old car. Of course, the first thought came to mind was why a blind organization wanted the cars- for driving lessons? Or who would do the repairs? Blind mechanics?
But after a minute, it occurred to me, they wanted cars to raise money for their organization, which is fine and what many organizations do this to raise money.
I wish this organization well. But please, if you donate money to any charity, first check out the charity online or calling the BBB. There are many charity scams out there and other charities that spend most of their money raising money or paying super high administrators salaries.
So, please, donate if you can but don't donate to "charities" that rip people off.
