Lookee Here Who Paid For The UNLV Protesters

Well, apparently UNLV showing once again they are not broke, paid $15,000 to have 150 protesters bused to Carson City to protest cuts in higher education.
From the UNLV College Republicans: Yesterday, UNLV sent 150 students up to Carson City, at a cost of $15,000, to join the protests over Governor Sandoval’s proposed budget cuts to higher education in Nevada. UNLV’s student government (CSUN) approved the $15,000 in student fees to pay for transportation, lodging and meals, for the students taking the trip.
"This is an enormous waste of student fees at a time of a so-called unprecedented fiscal crisis," said Mark Ciavola, president of the UNLV College Republicans. "A rally could have been held at UNLV for free, instead of forcing the entire student body to foot the bill for a protest that they may or may not agree with."
The UNLV College Republicans have spent the majority of this semester informing students on the realities of the impending budget cuts, fighting what they call a concerted effort to rile up students with hyperbole instead of facts. They have also railed against irresponsible spending by CSUN, taking an active role in campaigning against student body president David Rapoport’s bid for re-election.
"If students, teachers, administrators, education officials, and unions scrutinized the way schools currently spend money with the same resolve they are scrutinizing Governor Sandoval’s budget, Nevada’s education system would be a national model." concluded Ciavola.

The UNLV Republicans are really setting the stage to counteract the nonsense the liberals like the Las Vegas Sun and the UNLV crybaby liberals have put out.
UNLV is not broke when UNLV and it's student government spend money like this and UNLV have professors like Dina Titus who is literally stealing money from UNLV, with UNLV's cooperation.
It would be one thing if UNLV and the other Nevada state colleges use taxpayer money responsibly, but they don't. If UNLV spent money wisely, I would even support a tax increase for UNLV and other education. But education organizations like UNLV and CCSD just cannot not handle money responsibly and until they do, they should not get any extra money from the taxpayers.
