Las Vegas has a shortage of local talk radio shows. Other than Heidi Harris in the morning, there really isn't anything worth listening to. KDWN has a boring line up, though Alan Stock is trying to make a comeback with an hour long show just at 11AM.
Stock's replacement's in the afternoon on KDWN have not thrilled me.
However, I have found 2 talk shows in the mid afternoon, mostly, sports, but they also talk about local news events with local news makers. They are Gridlock and Dc and the Sunshine Man on ESPN's 1100 aM or 98.9 FM.
Gridlock comes on at noon and DC comes on a 3. Ont he way home, I listen to the end of Gridlock and the beginning of the DC show and both shows are informative and easy to listen to. Yes, they do talk about sports, especially local sports, but they also bring in local news makers, like Oscar Goodman and talk about local stories, like when a guy brought a date to Las Vegas, gave her his credit card and she ended up spending $20,000 at the Cosmopolitan and then disappearing.
They are not big on politics, so they choose the subjects that are interesting- not political.
So, if you are in Las Vegas, check out their show. Their web site is: http://werlv.com/pages/7699411.php
