Pawn Stars Review: October 17, 2013

Thanks for stopping by for another 2 episodes of Pawn stars, but please, please, I have nothing to do with the store or the Pawn Stars and I cannot tell you what an item is worth.
In the first episode, the first guy brought in an antique sluice box from the old gold mining days, the 1880's.
Michel operating a sluice box
Off hand, the sluice box looked like it was refurbished, which was confirmed by Rick.  The guy wanted $700 and Rick offered $100 and then $150 and that was the sale price.
The story line was Chumlee getting a picture of Rick, Corey and The Old Man on Mount Rushmore like picture.  They said the artist could do the drawing.  The lady was painting the picture outside but she didn't like Chumlee supervising her.
20th Anniversary SJ-200 1938 Reissue
The next guy brought in a custom made guitar from Gibson (An SJ: Super Jumbo) and it was made for Peggy Eames of My Gang and Little Rascals.  http://ourgang.wikia.com/wiki/Peggy_Eames_(role)
The seller was her son and he wanted $75,000.  Time for an expert, Jesse.
Jesse said it was real and it was worth about $65-70,000.  Rick offered $45,000 and the guy was firm at $75,000.  Rick went to $47,000 and there was no sale.  The guy said it was a strong family heirloom, then why are you selling it?
Ca. 1935 Buck Rogers tin rocket ship toy manufactured by Louis Marx & Co.
The next guy brought in a Buck Rogers rocket ship from the 1930's.
The toy still worked.  The guy wanted $300 and time for an expert, Johnny.  He said the toy was worth $240 but it would have been worth more if it worked better.  The Old Man offered $50 and Corey went to $75 and the Old Man went to$100 and that was the sale.
At the end of the episode, the artist included Chumlee in the picture, it wasn't very colorful and not very big.  It painting was in the back of the shop, in the alley.  Wonder if it is still there.
Progressive Automotive, 1933, chevy, Chevrolet, chassis, frame, suspension, rolling, Street, Rod, coupe, Sedan, roadster, cabriolet, IFS,
In the 2nd episode, the guys went to a guy's shop to see a 1933 Chevy Eagle.  The guy wanted $20,000 and rick offered $12,000.  The guy came down to $14,000 and $13,650 was the selling price.
The story line was Corey spending too much money.  Yeah, at $25,00o an episode, he probably isn't hurting that much and Rick set him up with a financial planner.  He went to the investment advisor and he set up him up with a budget and had to sell his Roadrunner car to Rick.
Enigma machine
The next guy brought in an Enigma decoding machine from Nazi Germany.
The guy wanted $149,300 for the machine.  The machine was quitre shiny and worked.  Some of the parts were reproductions.  Time for an expert, Wil Willis, who is a military expert.  http://military.discovery.com/tv-shows/triggers/wil-willis-bio.htm
He said it was worth about $70,000.  Rick offered $50,000 and there was no sale.
Autry National Center
The next guy had a picture of Doc Holliday as a dentist.  http://www.biography.com/people/doc-holliday-9342122
The guy wanted $35,000 and Corey offered $8000 and the Old Man offered $10,000 firm.  No deal.
Thanks for stopping and next week are 2 new episodes, so feel free to stop by again.
