Vanilla Ice With The Amish?

Three words that usually that not found in the English language: Amish+ Vanilla Ice.
The DIY (Do It Yourself Network) is running a show called "Vanilla Ice Goes Amish".
As someone who has befriended, worked with and studied the Amish, I am very skeptical of these shows.

The story line is that Vanilla Ice goes to a small Ohio community that has a lot of Amish families, and lives with an Amish family and then works with the Amish community in building things.
First, Vanilla Ice is with Amish families that are not conservative or regular Amish.  These Amish allow their pictures to be taken- maybe they are the Beachy Amish or Mennonites.  They also don't have the typical Amish accent.  And a quartz counter top for one of the building projects?  Not the Amish I ever heard of.  And the kitchen they worked on certainly would not be the usual Amish kitchen as it was truly very fancy, even with no electricity.  It's atruly a luxury Amish kitchen.
However, Vanilla Ice shows the culture respect, unlike shows like the Amish Mafia and American Colony: Meet the Hutterites and other Amish shows.
All in all, it was a decent show and the show was not the reality show type with a lot of hype and disrespect of the Amish culture.
