More information on the Las Vegas Sun, Harry Reid and UFC scandal. In the past post, it was revealed that Harry Reid is having a lottery to sit next to him on July 3rd at a UFC fight night. But you had to go to harryreid.com to get the information. If you go there, all you get is Harry Reid's campaign web site and no information about the lottery.
Now, after looking at the Sun's web site, on the main page, about 3/4ths of the way down, there is a blog link about the UFC fight and sitting next to Harry Reid. If you click on the link, it takes you directly to Harry Reid's campaign web site. From the Sun:
Reports from other publications, aggregated by Sun staff, worthy of our readers’ attention.

Las Vegas Sands targets Asia for 90% of revenue as mainlanders return to Macau
(via Bloomberg)
Las Vegas Sands Corp., the casino company of billionaire Sheldon Adelson, expects 90 percent of its revenue to come from Asia by 2020, as its Singapore resort ramps up and more of China’s gamblers visit
Please notice that in the credit's for the link, on the second story, it says "via yahoo" as the source and in the third entry, it says "via Bloomberg" as the source. But for the Harry Reid lottery, it mentions no source for the link.
Why would the Sun have a direct link to Harry Reid's campaign web site when it is supposed to be connected to a blog? What publication comes from this link? Since when is the Harry Reid campaign web site considered a publication?
Since the Las Vegas Sun is directly linking to Harry Reid's campaign web site and no other campaign, would this be in violation of any election laws? In kind donations? False advertising?
So, this is an outrageous scandal by Harry Reid, the Las Vegas Sun and probably, the UFC. In journalism, this would to be considered to be disgraceful and unethical. You would expect this from Harry Reid. UFC, I'm not sure.
If there is any doubt that the Las Vegas Sun is in bed directly witht the Harry Reid campaign, the doubt has vanished. The Las Vegas Sun's creditability in journalism has been completely shot.
