Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers. When was the last time they won a national title? Unless, you count the Cleveland Indians winning the World series in the movie "Major League", it's been a long damn time.
But now, Cleveland has a national champion. 14-year-old Anamika Veeramani won the 83rd Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.. She properly spelled the word "stromuhr", whatever the heck that means. Heck, the spellcheck on Blogpost can't even find it in their spell check. Anamika is smarter than spellcheck.
So, Cleveland, you finally have something to cheer about in the world of sports competition. Congratulations to Anamika and you know she will do well in anything she wants to do.
