The Greenspun Corporation’s small independent television station went off the air at midnight, citing a lack of advertising revenue as the reason for pulling the plug.
KTUD, which aired on Channel 25 and on the Cox Cable system’s Channel 14 as Vegas TV, had a history of financial struggles since it signed on as a low-power television station in 1999.
Most of the station’s time slots were devoted to syndicated shows and paid programming. Some KSNV Channel 3 news broadcasts also were simulcast on the channel.
The station is jointly owned by Greenspun Broadcasting, a subsidiary of The Greenspun Corporation, and a New York-based private equity fund. It’s a sister company of the Las Vegas Sun and VEGAS INC. http://www.vegasinc.com/news/2013/oct/11/declining-ad-revenue-forces-las-vegas-tv-station-c/?_ga=1.76044182.2052921053.1380857312
Brian Greenspun and his firms have gone belly up in land holdings and property and now this TV station, which only played 1 show I like- Family Guy.
Then you have problems of the Las Vegas Sun which could very well tank by next year- it's has to be really difficult to be employed by Greenspun and especially be a spokesperson for him.
