Pawn Stars Reveiw: October 10, 2013

Well, Pawn Stars is back showing new episodes, which is probably a good thing.
We are now in our beautiful weather and in the mountains of Las Vegas, we had 6 inches of snow on top of the mountains by Las Vegas.
In the first episode, the Old Man yells at Chumlee, which happens just about every episode.  And if you look at Chumlee, it looks like the guy has man boobs.  Oh wait, that sounds so National Enquirer of me.
The story line of the show was the Old Man not wearing glasses and Chumlee volunteering to be his driver.
Boys hand Cars from the 20s
The first guy brought in a Parsons Pump Car (or hand cars) The cars was rusted but still ran.
The guy wanted $500 and Rick offered $300 because he had to get it fixed up.  The guy went to $400 and Rick to $350 and $350 was the selling price.
They wanted to get it restored and instead of Danny, their usual restoration person, they got a guy named Bob Yuhas.  He said it ould cost about $400 to restore and it would be worth about $1300.
The Old Man and Chumlee went to see a bowling machine (the Old Man has compact Jaguar car).

The game cost 10 cents to play and it was built by Altair.  The guy wanted $1500 and the Old Man needed an expert, but not Chumlee. (Chumlee look like he has gotten some new tattoos)  The expert, a new guy, Nick Kovalevsky, who is a pinball technician from Planet 9 Pins.

Nick said the game blew a fuse and it as fixed and the machine worked.
He said it would cost about $600 to restore and as is, the cost of the machine was about $600.  he guy went down to $400 and the Old Man offered $350 and that was the sale price.
The next lady brought in a movie prop from the "Godfather".  It kind f looked like a jewelry box.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Godfather
The box was used in background scenes.  The lady wanted $1000.  Rick thought the box was not worth anything and so there was no sale.
In the end, the Pump Car was painted almost all red and it cost $578.
Chumlee (who has now earrings in both ears)went to a guy's house to look at a Mercedes golf cart:
MERCEDES GOLF CART!
The color was gray instead of red.  It was a 560SL golf cart and battery power.
The guy wanted $3500.  Chumlee offered$2200 and then $2600 and the guy went $2800 and $2600 was the sale price.
The next guy brought in a Elvis Presley jacket.  It ha fur on the shoulders and wrists and cloth in between.  The guy wanted $75,000 and it a was time for an expert.
Elvis's friend, Jimmy Velvet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Velvet
He looked at the coat and said the coat really belonged to Elvis and it is worth about $55,000.  Chumlee and rick offered $40,000 and the guy wanted $70,000 and Rick was firm at $40,000.  The guy went down to $50,000 and then $45,000 and but Rick won at $40,000 and that was the sale price.
The story line was Rick being bald...ok.
KATANA SWORD 2 Stock Photo - 15031803
The next guy brought in a Koeda Ishida Katana Sword: The guy wanted $1,000,000.  Time for an expert, Mike Yamasaki, a Japanese sword expert and who has been on the sow previously.  He said it was a reproduction of the sword and made in China, about 15 years ago and worth about $50.  There was no sale.  The guy said he was disappointed.  You think?
Chumlee told Rick about an off road motorcycle that was rode by Steve McQueen in a race.  Rick ended up at a wig and toupee shop and it was a fake lead/joke by Chumlee.
In the end, they put a wig on a volleyball that had Rick's face on it.  End of show
Thanks for stopping by and there is a Pawn stars marathon going on through Monday.
