I Didn't Know

I just found this out today but the county where Jack Daniel's whiskey is a dry county...you can't legally buy any kind of beer or liquor in Moore County, Tennessee.
From the Tennessean: Jack Daniel’s ships to nearly 170 countries. But all alcohol sales are barred in Moore County outside the distillery. Jack Daniel’s visitors can, however, sip shots in a small warehouse, where sweet caramel and vanilla notes dance in the air, escaping from 6,000 casks stacked to the ceiling.
“We’re still famously a dry town,” Arnettsays, “but every brewery, winery and distillery can do a sampling tour for a price.”

You just never know.

Maybe Make Him A Gelding?

From the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune:  Serial horse-molester Sterling Rachwal may have ended up doing everybody a favor.
Thanks to the 54-year-old man’s recent crime spree in Brown County and his sentencing two weeks ago in Brown County Circuit Court, he drew a lot of attention to the inadequacies in Wisconsin’s animal abuse laws, said Melissa Tedrowe, Wisconsin director of the Humane Society of the United States.
Rachwal, who has a record of molesting horses throughout central Wisconsin dating back to the 1980s, was sentenced to two years’ probation earlier this month for two counts of mistreating animals.
That meant for a lot of public comment Thursday at a legislative committee hearing on a bill to bolster the state’s laws.

“Testimony took two hours, and it was a full room,” Tedrowe said. “In a way, Sterling Rachwal did a favor for the state, because he knows the law so well, he was able to give us a crystal clear example of how our law is inadequate.”
As disgusting as this is, it is hard to make having sex with an animal to legislate.  How do differentiate between a sick individual and someone who does artificial insemination on animals?
So, just make the pervert into a gelding and problem solved.

A Smart Jury From NYC

From the New York Post: An Occupy Wall Street protester who was busted while fighting against the One Percent in 2011 sued the city — and was just awarded a whopping one cent.
A Manhattan federal jury granted plaintiff Eric Gersbacher the penny after he claimed that NYPD cops roughed him up during his caught-on-video arrest in Zuccotti Park.
Three days after the social movement first formed, Gersbacher was at a protest in lower Manhattan sitting on a tarp and banging a metal pot lid as police tried to get the crowd to disperse.
A group of officers can be seen on video grabbing and tossing Gersbacher to the ground, then rushing him before the video cuts out.
On Monday, a jury awarded the Buffalo man the token cent in his excessive-force case against the city and the cops over the inmcident.
The panel found that NYPD Deputy Inspector Edward Winski used excessive force against Gersbacker — but not that the protester deserved any meaningful money for it.
The Occupy Wall Street thugs were nothing but a violent group of crybaby especially.
Pity the lawyer who expected a big payday but now has to try to find a way to split a penny with the thug.

What Is That In The Sky?

For the first time in about 4 months, we had a rain and thunderstorm here in Kingman, AZ.
Kind of strange to see this.

I'm Back

It was a rough end of the year for me and so I could not post for quite awhile.
I have had something wrong with my knee for about 4 months and I could barely walk. I ended up in the emergency room several times because of pain and swelling.
They ended up poking the knee about 6 times to drain fluid and administer some pain relief.  One of those sticks caused an infection and I ended up in the ICE in the hospital for the infection, severe dehydration, diarrhea and kidney shut down.
In the mean time my knee gets worse and worse and now my other knee is acting up.
So, I have been down for awhile.  Another reason was that I had to step back because I have written things I have not been proud of, especially calling people names. That's not me, so that will change.  Of course, I am still going to call out people and issues that I believe in or disagree with.
Thanks for your patience.
