This weekend is labor day and without a doubt, the biggest labor confrontation is between the NFL and it's referees.
Other than the NFL player's union, no other unions have supported the NFL officials. No union has threatened to not work for NFL stadiums out of support for the officials. On the web sites of the major of the major unions I read, they have not had any signs of support for the NFL officials. This is kind of surprising considering the NFL is using replacement officials, or in union speak- scabs and the issue is well known among NFL fans.
So, why haven't the various unions shown support for the NFL officials? I honestly don't know, unless the officials are considered to be too much 1%ers to gain union support.
So, I guess, unions are just there to screw workers, steal their wages and not support their brother unions.
Yeah, happy Labor Day to scab unions.

Patrick Cudahy Fire Update- Union Greed
Now that the Patrick Cudahy fire has been pretty much been put out, now the unions are asking for donations.
Now, I feel sorry for the workers who are out of work and will have to go on unemployment. They need support, but where is the union support to the workers?
From the UFCW web site: they are asking for donations- but what about the union donating money? Nothing mentioned.http://www.ufcw.org/ The SEIU, which is in the back pocket of the UFCW has nothing mentioned on their website. http://www.seiu.org/ AFC-CIO- nothing.http://www.aflcio.org/ Teamsters? Nothing http://www.teamster.org/
Typical of unions and for the the most part- liberals- ask other people to help out but not if it effects them. Unions are rolling in money from it's members, so why don't they use that money? Why don't union executives cut their salaries to help their union brethren? Because unions don't really care about their workers- all they are interested in is power and greed.
If and when unions pitch in and help their union brethren in Cudahy, then I will help. But if unions choose not to help out, then why should I?
