Why Are We Still n Libya?

Why are we still dropping bombs in Libya while also arming the rebels and doing who knows what else?
The reason, we were told that the Libyan dictaor, Quadaffi, was killing it's citizens and that we were bombing Libyan government structures for "humanitarian" reasons.
So, how is this any different than Syria and what all the killing the government is doing to it's citizens?
From Fox News: Syrian forces shelled a town in the country's restive north and opened fire on scattered protests nationwide, killing at least 32 people on Friday, activists said. Hundreds of Syrians streamed across the border into Turkey, trying to escape the violence.
A Syrian opposition figure told The Associated Press by telephone that thousands of protesters overwhelmed security officers and torched the courthouse and police station in the northern town of Maaret al-Numan, and the army responded with tank shells. The man spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

So, why are we fighting Libya, with Obama doing his best to imitate the Vietnam War, while Syrians are being slaughtered?
Further, why hasn't Obama not gone to Congress in an obvious violation of the law to get approval for the Libyan war?
Finally, where are all the anti-war protesters that were out in force while Bush was president but absent when Obama has been president. Is the media been hiding the war protesters or are the war protesters being silent because Obama is a liberal or because they are out protesting Special Olympians? Either way, the liberals are being dishonest but so what else is new?

Eco Terrrorists At It Again On TV

The eco terrorists from Whale Wars are back at it again, trying to hurt and maim Japanese fishermen along with damaging their ships while trying to save whales.
Like most liberal activists, they are not that talented. They seem to take after the liberal protesters in Wisconsin- loud but not that effective. But I will admit that the Whale War eco terrorists are not as bad as the protesters in Wisconsin- they have disrupted any Special Olympian field trips like the Wisconsin protesters did. But on the other hand, I hear there are homes for elderly nuns the protesters can go to in Wisconsin to protest Scott Walker.

When Nancy Pelosi took the Speakers gavel a few years ago, she promised the most ethical House of Representatives ever.
Now, that Pelosi is no longer speaker, she says the hell with ethics and will allow Democrats to behave badly.

Weiner, a seven-term Democrat, has admitted sending sexually explicit photos and messages over the Internet to a half dozen women over the past three years. Pelosi has asked the House Ethics Committee to investigate whether Weiner used any government resources.
Weiner told a newspaper Thursday he would not resign. At least nine House members and three senators said he should quit.
Two former Democratic Party chairmen also said he should resign.

I guess, when you lose your gavel, you lose your ethics, if you ever had any to begin with.
As I had posted before, it was up to the Democratic family to deal with Weiner.
So far, they have done a poor job dealing with him.
Why is that not surprising?

The other question I have: If Weiner was not not married to a Muslim, would he have done this behavior and would he have treated his wife this way?
Men, especially in the Muslim religion, treat women badly, very badly. To Muslim men, women are not human, just sex toys and their job is to raise kids while having the women wearing the dehumanizing burka and having to obey Sharia law.
Not all women are like treated this, but most have to live in inhumane conditions because of the Muslim religion.
So, is Weiner taking advantage of his wife because she is a Muslim woman? Just wondering.

I Wonder Why Kyle Busch Is not Driving In The Trucks Tonight?

Tonight, the Camping World NASCAR trucks are racing in Fort Worth, TX tonight and one of the no shows is Kyle Busch.
I wonder why he is not racing? Maybe he is getting tired of getting into fights and not fighting back?
Busch has raced in almost every truck race this season and there is no Nationwide race tomorrow, so there is no real good reason why Busch is not racing.
So, is Kyle getting tired of getting into fights, like at Darkington and last week in the truck series? Or is he taking a vacation?

You Think The NBA Fans Are Happy That James Has Been Choking In The 4th Quarter?

Who do you think are happier, the fans in Dallas or the fans in Cleveland, that Labron James has been tanking it in the 4th quarter of the NBA finals?
My guess, but just about everyone in the NBA who does not like James or the Miami Heat, is the thrilled he is choking in the 4th quarter. I count myself in that category.
As I stated earlier, I hope Dallas wins so David Stern has to give the NBA trophy to Mark Cuban. That's worth the price of admission in it's self.

CCSD Graduation Rate Rate: 44.3%?

According to some think tanks an other people who like to stick their nose in other people's business, the graduation rate of Clark County high school students was 44.% in 2008.
From the Las Vegas Sun: Now, School District officials are acknowledging what critics have long suspected — that high school graduation figures have for years been inflated to paint a better picture than actually existed.
“We’ve known for a long time the community has been challenging some of the data that the district was coming out with,” said Pedro Martinez, Jones’ recently hired deputy superintendent of instruction.
“We need to have the trust of the community, the parents and all of the district’s employees,” he said. “The reality is when the data are not clear, then frankly people mistrust it. The new superintendent came in and said we’re going to find out the real numbers. Whatever the truth is that’s what we’re going to put out there.”
The issue became pointed this week when Education Week magazine reported that Clark County’s public school graduation rate was 44.3 percent in 2008, not the 68 percent figure that had been reported under Jones’ predecessor, Walt Rulffes. That’s a difference of 24 percentage points.
The results reported by Education Week were drawn from a mix of numbers reported to state and federal education officials, and they highlight the challenges Jones and his executive team face in rebuilding communitywide trust, especially among those who have claimed for years that the district has inflated graduation rates.

As many of you know, I am a teacher in CCSD, but I really am a behind the scenes employee as I teach students with severe disabilities and my students have a different curriculum.
From what I can see, is that the real graduation rate is much higher than a 44.3% rate.
First, to get a full diploma, you have to pass your classes and proficiency tests in math, reading, writing and science. Most special education students are not able to pass the proficiency tests, so, already your graduation rate drops almost 20% or more.
Then you have students who come to the school district who do not read, write or speak English. It is safe to say, those students are not going to graduate with a full diploma.
Because of the economy, there have been ten's of thousands of people fleeing Clark County and those students will count as drop outs, lowering the graduation rate.
While I don't have exact figures, I'd be willing to bet that the three categories I mentioned will decrease the graduation rate at least 40%, if not more.
Then you have students who just don't want to go to school. A bus or parent will drop them in the front door and the kids are running out the back door of the school 5 minutes later.
I work in an school that would be considered inner city. We have about 95% Hispanic and African-American students. I know that between the administration and the teachers, they do their damndest to get the kids in school and passing their proficiency exams.
If a student does not attend school, they will have truancy officers and some times administrators, looking for the kids. the school has a great relationship with neighboring apartment buildings, where if the apartment managers see truant students or see a party going on in the apartment complex, they call the school and the school will send administrators, security personnel and school police to the apartment and bring the kids back to school.
The administration will issue truancy citations, along with the police, in an effort to get kids in school. This year, we have had parents fined and/or sent to jail in an effort to get kids to school.
If a kid is failing or is doing poorly in class, they will work 1 on 1 with the student in an effort for the student to pass tests and assignments. Finally, tutoring is always available to students who are having problems in class or with their proficiency exams.
So, basically, there really is no excuse for a student to fail in high school, if they want to pass and graduate. No excuse whatsoever, at least, not at our school. Now, do they do this in every school, I really don't know, but I would hope so.
So, when people who trash the school district, both liberals, conservatives and the news media about our graduation rate, they are usually full of crap.
Is CCSD perfect, of course not. There are several schools that have problems with teachers and administrators who do not communicate with parents, even to fellow teachers who have students in CCSD. There are also problems with gangs, graffiti, non-certified teachers in the area of math, science and special education and the district being top heavy with administrators.
But CCSD is also not that horrible and I am not afraid of sending my own kids to CCSD and to my high school where I teach at.
Hopefully, the new superintendent can improve things, but it will take a stick of dynamite to break up all the built in problems of the district.

More Gaming Jobs Lost Because Of Government

Gov. Brian Sandoval signed into law a bill that will allow gaming in a casino' hotel rooms
From The Las Vegas Sun: Two bills opening up new horizons for Nevada’s casinos have been signed into law by Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Among the 36 bills approved by Sandoval on Friday were ones to allow electronic gambling in hotel rooms and permitting Internet poker if the federal government also approves it.
Assembly Bill 294 removes a prohibition on the use of mobile gaming devices in hotel rooms or sleeping areas. Supporters told the Legislature that surveys show guests want mobile gambling in their rooms.
They assured lawmakers new technology will prevent underage gambling in rooms. A survey by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority shows that less than 7 percent of guests bring their children to Las Vegas.

What this means is that many high roller clubs will shut down as the celebrity high rollers will not want to leave their hotel rooms to gamble.
It will also mean that if you want to party or want to be by yourself in your room, you can now gamble up there.
Bottom line: this will cost employees their jobs because fewer people will be on the gaming floor. The casinos love this bill because it will lower costs while the employees will hate it because some people will lose their jobs.
Thanks to government, more jobs will be lost.

Thank You Taxpayers For My Job

Yesterday was the last day of students who go to school in the Clark County School District. Today was the last day for teachers. I don't know who was happier.
In years past, there were some elementary schools who were open to through the summer because of over crowding, but because of budget cuts, they don't do that any more.
So, for the first week, I am going to hibernate and after that, who knows.
And yes, I appreciate being a teacher and appreciate the money I get from the taxpayers for my pay and time off.
So, I thank you, the taxpayer, for funding my job as a teacher of the disabled. I appreciate the jobs you do and the taxes we pay so that I can have a chance to teach the severely disabled students.

CCSD Screws Laid Off Teachers

There have been numerous teacher lays off in the Clark County (NV) School District, with many more teachers facing lay offs. Estimates range from a couple hundred teachers to up to a couple thousand teachers being laid off, if there are no give backs by the different unions within the CCSD umbrella.
So, how is CCSD treating the laid off teachers? Allowing them to apply for unemployment? Letting them become long term substitute teachers in areas where CCSD has not found certified teachers?
For most teachers facing lay offs, the State of Nevada will certify you as a teacher in your specialized field, like a math, English, Social Studies etc. teacher AND you are certified to be a substitute teacher.
CCSD is telling laid off teachers that if you are certified as a substitute teacher, you may not apply for unemployment compensation. It doesn't matter if you are not guaranteed hours. It doesn't matter if you may only be called two times a month for pay of less than $200 as a sub teacher. You will not be eligible for unemployment compensation.
For teachers who are certified in a specialized teacher area, (auto shop, photography, some computer classes etc.) but not certified as a substitute teacher, you may apply for unemployment compensation and you will get the money.
So, if you are a teacher who has been laid off from CCSD, you are being screwed twice by CCSD- first when you are laid off and second, when you are denied unemployment compensation and have to rely on the unknown wages of a substitute teacher.
So, to the laid off CCSD teachers out there, bend over, grab your ankles and wait for CCSD to do, you know what.

Man Behind Meatloaf Dies

The man who took a chance on a guy named Meat Loaf passed away today.
From spinner.com: Steve Popovich, a longtime music executive who helped launch Meat Loaf's career, has died. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the 68-year-old passed away Wednesday, June 8 in his Murfreesboro, Tenn., apartment of unknown causes.
A Pennsylvania native who moved to Cleveland in his teens, Popovich got his start in the music business by unloading trucks at a local Columbia Records warehouse during the '60s. By 1972, he had risen all the way to Vice President of promotions for CBS Records, a post given to him by Clive Davis. In the mid-'70s, Popovich and his A&R team at Epic signed such artists as Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, Boston and, after they left Motown, the Jacksons.
In 1976, Popovich left CBS to form his own label, Cleveland International. It was there that he championed the career of Meat Loaf and his 'Bat Out of Hell' album, which had failed to attract interest from other labels. In Madison, WI. some Special Olympians came to visit the State Capitol on a field trip. They got to meet Bucky Badger and members of the U.W. Marching Band (as an aside, one of the biggest supporters of Special Olympians and Very Special Arts is Michael Leckrone, the director of the U.W. Marching Band).
I used to coach Special Olympics in Wisconsin- in Milwaukee, Westfield and Wisconsin Rapids along with coaching Special Olympians in Montana and North Dakota, so the athletes have a special place in my heart.
The Governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker was supposed to address the Special Olympians, but the liberal protesters thought that they were more important than the Special Olympic athletes.

The Special Olympians showed they have more class in their little pinky than these deranged, pathetic, delusional herd of losers.

Joe Heck Was Right: Social Security Is A Ponzi Sceme

Joe Heck is getting heat from the 2 brain celled liberals for calling social security a ponzi scheme. Nevada liberals like Harry Reid and Shelly Berkley and bloggers like Desert Beacon act like an ostrich and say there is nothing wrong with Social Security, while admitting that it will eventually go broke.
Simply put, Social Security pays out more than it takes in. It also relies on the "safe box" in which money that was borrowed by Congress and presidents and they hope the money will be put back in.

So, Joe Heck was right. Social security is a ponzi scheme or a scheme that is unsustainable and Social Security will go completely broke in a few years.
I am not sure if I will receive Social Security when I retire and I know my kids won't get any Social Security when it comes for them to retire.
But the liberals and Democrats, especially people like Harry Reid and Barack Obama who just flat out lie about Social security and lead people into thinking there is nothing wrong with they system. the system is broke and it needs to be fixed. But the Democrats would have you believe there is nothing wrong.
And politicians like Joe Heck tell the truth and they get ripped by the liberal media and brain dead politicians like Harry Reid who spread lies.
So when someone asks, who do you trust more, Harry Reid or Dr. Joe Heck, most clear thinking people will chose Dr. Joe Heck.

Another Reason Not To Vote For Chris Giunchigliani

You can't make some things up: Las Vegas voters received an automated phone call Monday evening from Mayor Oscar Goodman urging them to vote in today's municipal elections.
Goodman introduced himself as mayor, then asked residents to cast votes in the mayoral race to continue the momentum of the past 12 years.
He didn't say Carolyn Goodman's name or mention that his wife is a candidate.
Supporters of opponent Chris Giunchigliani immediately suspected funny business and accused Goodman of using city resources to sway the election. A city spokesman said the call was not generated by the city.

F-16 Crashes Near My Old Stomping Grounds

From Madison.com: A pilot from the Madison-based 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard escaped serious injury while ejecting from an F-16 fighter jet over Adams County around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
Norma Pourchot, 79, said the jet came within a few feet of the roof of her house in the town of New Chester before slamming into a vacant vacation home about a block away....
The pilot was picked up in Adams County and is being medically evaluated, Lt. Col. Jackie Guthrie, a spokeswoman for the Wisconsin National Guard, said in a press release.

The crash happened a few miles away from where I used to teach in the School District of Westfield. I've driven by that scene many times as some of my students lived in the area.
The area is mostly wooded, with some family farms along the way. The story said it hit a summer home, which sounds about right, as there are many people from Illinois who come up to Adams County during the summer to enjoy the cooler weather, less humidity and the beautiful woods that mostly inhabit the area.
New Chester is just a town, with no downtown or main street and most of it's residents are either retired or farmers. The fire department probably consists of an engine and a tanker or two.
This fire call probably stressed the area fire departments as they are all volunteer and their equipment, while good for the area, probably wasn't what you wanted for a jet fighter crash. The nearest heavy rescue truck may have been in Westfield or Adams-Friendship. I'm sure they called out all the fire departments in the area, including New Chester, Town of Springfield, Westfield, Town of Westfield, Harrisville, Adams, Oxford and maybe a couple more.
The pilot must have developed problems at high altitude because there are no air bases near the crash site. When I was teaching at Westfield, we would hear and see the fighters but always high in the sky. So, what ever happened to the plane, it probably happened at high altitude. The pilot ejected out and could have landed in a tree or in a farm field.
I'm glad no one got hurt and only a summer home was destroyed. It could have been a lot worse if the fighter landed in Westfield.

Pawn Star Review: June 6,2011

Today are two brand new episodes of Pawn Stars, which is pretty good considering that we have had new episodes longer than most TV shows this Spring.
We are still waiting for Summer to start in Las Vegas. We have been between 5 to 25 degrees below normal the entire Spring and we still have not had a day over 100 degrees this year, which is highly unusual.
In the first episode, the first guy brought in a box of matches that mock Adolph Hitler. There were 100 matches in the box. The matches were all in shape of a bomb. The guy wanted $100 and Rick offered $60 and the guy said $75 and that was the sale price.
The next guy brought in a Civil War union soldier jacket. Time for Mark from the Clark County Museum. The guy ran a theater company or school theater and the jacket was donated. Mark said the jacket probably was real and probably worn by someone who was behind the lines of battle. The guy wanted $1000. Rick offered $750 and then $850 with very little bartering.
According the story line, an employee called in sick and they wanted Chumlee to work the night shift. Since he was already working the PM shift and scheduled for the AM shift the next day, this would make it a triple shift for Chumlee. I've worked many jobs that you had to work on a shift and only once did I ever have to work a triple shift. This happened when I worked at SanHaven, an institution for the mentally disabled in northern North Dakota and it took a 27 inch snow storm with 70 mile an hour winds for me to do it. It wasn't fun, but I survived it. He worked the night shift and the bit turned into a commercial for Subway.
The next guy brought in a will Rogers book which was autographed. Rick gave a great history of Will Rogers. The guy wanted $500 and Corey offered $100. the price went to $200 and that was the selling price.
The next guy brought in an old porcelain Texaco sign from the 1940's. It was a fairly good shape. the guy wanted $1000 and the Old Man offered $400 and then $500 and that was the sale price.
The next lady brought in a Teddy Ruxpin toys. I never heard of them, but my wife has heard of them. They came out in 1985. The lady wanted $500. Corey offered $100 and then $150 and no sale.
At the end of the show, they showed that the open/closed sign on the closed position. Why would you have a open/closed sign on a 24 hour place of business?
In the second episode, the first guy brought in a Confederate Army belt buckle with a bullet possibly inside it. Time for an expert. Mark came down to see the belt buckle. He didn't think the belt buckle was real and so there was no sale.
The next guy brought in a Ernest Hemingway book and autograph. Rick was kind of scared of the authenticity of the items. So, time for another expert. Drew came in and said the autograph was not real. Rick still wanted the book and offered $400 for the book and then $500 and that was the selling price.
The next brought in a Lincoln K8 1932 Convertible roadster it and was never driven. The guy wanted $100,000. Rick countered with $85,000 and then $90,000 and then $95,000. No sale. The guy didn't seem like he wanted to sell the car. Then the guy wanted to trade the car for gold. So, the guy sold the car for $95,000 and then turned around and bought gold for $850 an ounce (I think that was the price), which is about 1/2 of what the price is now. The man made a great deal.
The next guy brought in an antique bamboo fishing pole. The pole was about 120 years old. the guy wanted $1000 and Corey offered $500 and then the price went up to $850 and that was the selling price.
The next guy wanted to see the book by Hemingway, "For Whom the Bell Tolls". The buyer was George Stephanapolus of ABC news. Rick said the book could go for $700 and Stephanapolus said $675 and that was the sale price.

Too Bad This Guy Ain't Running

Gov. Chris Christie nails it again.
From Fox News: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie compared the government funding of public broadcasting to the old Soviet Union before announcing a deal that will sell the state's public broadcasting network to New York’s WNET, MyFoxPhilly.com reported...
At a press conference in Trenton, Christie said the government ought to stay out of broadcasting, and the relationship in New Jersey should have ended decades ago.
“In my view, that should have ended with the Soviet Union," he said. "It's ending here in New Jersey a little later than the fall of the wall in Berlin. But we're getting there.”

Just the name of NPR (National Public Radio) sounds like something from the Soviet Union. Of course, many other parts of government sound like the old Soviet Union: Czar, National Party chairmen, block captains, homeland and a few more sound like things you would hear from the Soviet government.
But NPR is the voice of the government, the liberal wing of government. If NPR doesn't like this comparison, then they should not take any government money. It really is that simple. If they wanted to, they could advertise. Oh, wait, they do. On the top of each hour, they say: this hour of(name of the show) is brought to you by... They can get their viewers to help pay. Of course they do that. Popular shows get a lot of viewer support, the more boring shows get little. Just like in the real world of radio.
Public financing of public radio and television needs to stop, especially in this day and age. With cable, satellite, over the air and pay shows like Sirius radio, we don't need public TV and radio.
NPR and PBS have many good shows on their stations that advertisers would love to sponsor and there are some duds as well and those shows would be cancelled, as they should be.
So, Gov. Christie is right. I just wish he would run in 2012.

Oxymoron Of The day

From the Pahrump Valley Times: The Pahrump Senior Center Transportation Director Don McIntosh said Wednesday that his phone hasn’t quit ringing.
“I’ve been getting calls since Friday,” he said. “I had one lady call saying she was at Smith’s with groceries and couldn’t get home. Someone had dropped her off to shop and she needed a ride from us.”
McIntosh said the Senior Center provides transportation for those age 60 or over for a mandatory donation. “We can’t afford to provide the service for free,” he said.
McIntosh said he can’t operate like a taxi.

Umm, usually a donation is voluntary.

I understand the problem of Pahrump residents. Pahrump is a city of about 30,000 people and is about 60 miles from Las Vegas. It's too small for a city bus route and it may be too small for a taxi service as well.
It also puts people who depended on the taxi service in a bind. They may need it for grocery shopping or going to the doctors office.
On the other hand, if a government agency is going to provide taxi service, like the Senior Center does, then you are going to have a hard time surviving if you have to compete against a government agency that can subsidize each ride.
So, the Senior center needs to stop competing against the taxi service then, maybe, a taxi service can survive in Pahrump.

Why Are The Nevada GOP Governor and Legislators Just Like Anthony Weiner?

Next time a GOP candidate for State office or candidate for Nevada Assembly or Senate come to you promising you something, you can laugh at them, punch them in the face or spit in their eye. Because when they open up their mouth, they are lying, especially many of the GOP persuasion.
From the Las Vegas Sun: The Senate voted 15-6 today to pass legislation extending the 2009 tax increases, sending the last major bill implementing a hard-fought budget compromise to Gov. Brian Sandoval.
In a series of speeches before the vote, senators from both sides acknowledged promises made and broken for the good of a compromise that will mean significant cuts to education and government services, but will keep the state running for another two years.
“I didn’t expect to be in the position I’m in now, ultimately breaking the promise I made to a lot of people not to lift the sunsets,” state Sen. Ben Kieckhefer, R-Reno, said before voting in favor of Assembly Bill 561, which will add $620 million to the $6.7 million spending compromise. “I don’t do it lightly. But I believe when the Supreme Court decision came down, the facts that led me to my decision changed and I needed to reevaluate the funds.”
The Nevada Supreme Court decision prohibiting the state from taking local tax dollars was catalyst for the budget compromise, forcing Sandoval to replace $656 million in local revenue by extending the 2009 tax increase - a reversal of his own promise not to do so.
The budget compromise split the Republican caucuses in both houses. The agreement was opposed by Republicans who signed pledges not to raise taxes; and others were unhappy with the policy changes Democrats made in exchange for lifting the sunsets; and some didn't believe the court decision opened such a big hole in the budget.

The GOP made promises that they would not raise taxes and they promised that they would let taxes that were due to expire, the GOP said they would let them expire. But they didn't do that.

Now, government agencies like the Clark County School District is going to ask it's employees to take a pay cut while refusing to cut the fat in their budget.
They are going to let the local cities and towns keep paying bloated salaries to it's employees and not cut the fat from their budgets. All because the Governor and the GOP Senators and Assembly weaklings chose to take the easy way out.
They are trying to make the Nevada Supreme Court look like the villain but the Supreme Court were just the enablers.
There have been a lot conservatives who went to bat for the Governor and the conservatives in the Assembly and Senateregarding taxes and they let us down. Big time.
So, next time the governor and members of the GOP Senate and Assembly come asking for donations, tell them to stick it up their butt holes.

Let Whorehouse Harry Reid, President Obama and Nancy Pelosi deal with it. This will be the most telling part- how they handle their own pervert and liar.
If they force him to resign, great, more power to them.
If they let him off, it shows the character of the Democratic Party.
If Weiner's family forgives him for all the hell he has put them through, I feel sorry for them.

Kyle Busch+Richard Childress Far More Interesting Than The NASCAR Races

This weekend, there were 3 races and one fight. Guess which one was more interesting?
According to ESPN: The new Kyle Busch found himself back in old familiar territory: smack-dab at the center of controversy.
But he got a little help this time -- make that a lot of help -- from Richard Childress. The driver and team owner went at it in the Truck garage area after the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250. Childress apparently took exception to Busch bumping one of his trucks, driven by Joey Coulter, on the cool-down lap.
It was reported that Childress had Busch in a headlock and didn't pull any punches. In old-school terms, it sounded like Childress dragged Busch to the woodshed, dropped his drawers and thrashed him silly. We don't know what actually happened between the two. We may never.
"Boys, have at it" apparently includes team owners, even when the owner is old enough to be the grandfather of the lad he's whoopin'. Some could argue that Childress was just protecting his driver and equipment. (Remember Busch's pit-road run-in with Kevin Harvick, another RCR driver, at Darlington last month?) It's no different than an offensive lineman going toe-to-toe with a linebacker for roughing up his quarterback, right?

Childress apparently punched Busch 3 times was in a headlock. Of course the questions begs: Why is Kyle Busch being picked on like a nerd in 7th grade? first Keven Harvick and then Richard Childress who is at least twice as old as Busch. It's kind like me going after LeBron James and I am the one who gets the punches in.
however this incident, even though it was not taped, was a lot more interesting than the 3 NASCAR races this weekend. The truck race was boring, the Nationwide race was boring except on the last lap when the two leaders ran out of gas and the Sprint race was just horribly boring. No crashes, no late lap excitement. Nothing. We have not had an exciting race since Tallegdega.

So, now, we are left with a grandfather fighting a driver who really isn't much of a fighter. So, this is what NASCAR has become? Pathetic.

Great. Another Thing Vegas Will Be Known For: Sister Wives

Las Vegas is homes to many types of people, Actors, gang bangers, gamblers, show girls, rich, poor, illegals, middle class and many different types of people.
Now, living in the far Northwest part of town, we now have bigamists, from the TV show, Sister Wives on TLC. Of course, they are not true bigamists- they aren't legally married to one guy.
Clearly, the "family"income has to huge . The houses they live in are probably worth a minimum of $250,000 each, if not more and even in today's housing market. The 4 houses rent for at least $1500 each or more. Since they live on the Northwest side, rent is probably a lot more than say in the east side of Las Vegas and most areas of Henderson. Or anywhere else in the Valley.
And if they wanted to get a single house for all 4 families, it's possible they couldhave found one because there are some houses large enough out here.
Just glad they are not my neighbors. Mostly for the camera crews. But if they would want me to accept or tolerate their life style, umm no.

But according to data provided exclusively to The Daily from TweetCongress.org, a nonprofit website that captures each member of Congress’s Twitter feeds in real time, the shot seen round the world was transmitted using TweetDeck — a popular Adobe desktop application that links up with social networking sites. A review of Weiner’s Twitter stream from May 27, the day of the crotch pic, shows that Weiner had been posting only from TweetDeck — one of many ways to post messages to Twitter —that entire night.
Chet Wisniewski, a senior security adviser at security software company SophosLabs, said the TweetDeck stamp “does make it more plausible that it did come from him.”
Weiner used TweetDeck frequently, but he often also posted from the Web directly or from his BlackBerry. A widely circulated explanation for how Weiner’s Twitter account could have been hacked by email would also seem to be incompatible with the fact that the message in question originated on TweetDeck. If email had been used, the message probably would have originated via the photosharing site Yfrog, where the infamous picture was posted.
However, this information doesn’t rule out the possibility that the congressman’s Twitter account was infiltrated — as Weiner has publicly suggested. But experts say it adds another hurdle for an alibi that has come under increasing fire.

Out Of Control Liberal Judge Overturned

A couple days ago, a Federal judge appointed by Bill Clinton, ordered that a school district may not allow any prayers at it's graduation and threatened to fine anybody who dared to speak about God at it's ceremony.

A federal appeals court has lifted the order banning public prayer at a Texas high school graduation Saturday.
The reversal comes on the heels of increasing criticism of a federal judge's earlier ruling that agreed with the parents of one graduating student that religious expression during the ceremony at Medina Valley Independent School District would cause "irreparable harm" to their son.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals thought differently, reversing the judge's ruling Friday and allowing students to say the word "amen" and invite the audience to pray during the ceremony.
"This is a complete victory for religious freedom and for Angela," said Kelly Shackelford, president/CEO of Liberty Institute, which had represented class valedictorian Angela Hildenbrand in the appeal. "We are thrilled that she will be able to give her prayer without censorship in her valedictorian speech tomorrow night. No citizen has the right to ask the government to bind and gag the free speech of another citizen."
Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery's initial ban had been denounced as an "activist decision" by U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who called it "exactly the wrong civics lesson to teach to the class of 2011."
Biery had ruled Thursday in favor of Christa and Danny Schultz, who sued to block such religious expressions at their son's graduation. Among the words or phrases Biery had banned were: “join in prayer,” “bow their heads,” “amen,” and “prayer.”
He also ordered the school district to remove the terms “invocation” and “benediction” from the graduation program, in favor of "opening remarks" and "closing remarks."
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott responded by voicing support for the school district in its appeal.
“Part of this goes to the very heart of the unraveling of moral values in this country,” Abbott told Fox News Radio, saying the judge wanted to turn school administrators into “speech police.”

Can someone tell me how someone is "irreparably harmed" by a prayer or some religious words. And the Left isn't taking this ruling laying down- from the San Antonio.com:
The Institute said Friday that someone had called the high school and told a secretary that “Angela Hildenbrand better watch herself or she will get hurt” and said the Medina Valley Independent School District had reported it to Castroville police.
Chris Martinez, the district's assistant superintendent, wouldn't comment on it but said the district planned to beef up security at the graduation.

In the article, it also said that there were about 500 calls to the judge who wanted the order overtuned.
Further, the family that brought the lawsuit is now going act like cry babies and stay at home instead of going to graduation. I don't they would have gone either way.

Sad Days In San Fransico

A simple house fire turned tragic when a flashover occurred and the flashover killed two City of San Francisco firefighters.
From the San Fransico Chronicle: A second San Francisco firefighter died early this morning, victim of a deadly house fire in San Francisco's Diamond Heights neighborhood.
Anthony "Tony" Valerio, a 53-year-old firefighter and paramedic critically injured in the Thursday blaze, died at San Francisco General Hospital at about 7:40 a.m., city officials said.
Dozens of grim-faced firefighters from across the city flocked to the hospital to pay tribute to Valerio, whose death was yet another blow to the city, its firefighters and Engine Company 26.
The Diamond Heights station crew had already lost Lt. Vincent Perez, who died Thursday after being rushed to the hospital with Valerio and a third firefighter, Tracy Courtney. Courtney was released after being treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Firefighters around the country have been taking their lumps lately because of budget cuts and the attitudes of firefighters towards politicians and taxpayers.
But the bottom line is that fire fighting is still a dangerous job even with all the technology out there. Whether you are a full time firefighter or a volunteer, which I used to be when I was younger, the job is dangerous.

Why Wasn't Bof A charged With Attempted Theft?

A couple pays cash for their house and Bank of America tried to foreclose on them? How is that not theft.
But the couple did the next best thing when Bank of America refused to pay the couple's legal fees, they foreclosed on Bank of America.

Well, it has happened in Florida and involves a North Carolina based bank.
Instead of Bank of America foreclosing on some Florida homeowner, the homeowners had sheriff's deputies foreclose on the bank.
It started five months ago when Bank of America filed foreclosure papers on the home of a couple, who didn't owe a dime on their home.
The couple said they paid cash for the house.
The case went to court and the homeowners were able to prove they didn't owe Bank of America anything on the house. In fact, it was proven that the couple never even had a mortgage bill to pay.
A Collier County Judge agreed and after the hearing, Bank of America was ordered, by the court to pay the legal fees of the homeowners', Maurenn Nyergers and her husband.
The Judge said the bank wrongfully tried to foreclose on the Nyergers' house.
So, how did it end with bank being foreclosed on? After more than 5 months of the judge's ruling, the bank still hadn't paid the legal fees, and the homeowner's attorney did exactly what the bank tried to do to the homeowners. He seized the bank's assets.

The bank finally paid off their debt of attorney's fees only.
How come the homeowners just got attorney's fees and not punitive damages? How come Bank of America was not charged with attempted theft? If you or I did this, we would have been arrested for fraud and attempted theft.

Thank goodness Rory Reid Wasn't Elected Governor

If Rory Reid was elected governor of Nevada, we would be talking impeachment instead of tackling the budget right now.
From the LVRJ: Former Clark County Commissioner Rory Reid agreed to pay a $25,000 penalty from his own pocket to settle accusations he skirted campaign finance laws, under a deal the secretary of state announced Friday.
Reid was accused of funneling more than $900,000 to his gubernatorial campaign last year through dozens of shell organizations in an effort to bypass limits on political donations.
The alleged scheme was described as "conduit contributions," an illegal practice that aims to mask the true source of the money.
Reid will pay the fine with his own money and not from campaign funds.
In an interview Friday, he denied wrongdoing and said he settled to avoid years of litigation.

Umm, yeah right, Rory. You settled with using your own money to avoid years of litigation? That's BS, but on the bright side, I guess we won't be seeing Reid run for anything in the near future.

However, the state prosecuted an Elko candidate and won a $40,000 judgment that has yet to be fully paid, the source said. (emphasis mine)

So, thankfully, Reid did not win the governor's election or we would be talking about impeachment.
However, if Reid did win the election, would this issue have come up in the main stream media? Would liberal reporter Jon Ralston have covered it? Somehow, I doubt it.

Thank You McDonalds

Today, the Fed's announced that the economy grew about 54,000 jobs and that McDonalds created half of those jobs.
From The Weekly Standard: According to the unemployment data released this morning, the economy added only 54,000 jobs, pushing the unemployment rate up to 9.1 percent. However, this report from MarketWatch suggests the data is much worse than that:
McDonald’s ran a big hiring day on April 19 — after the Labor Department’s April survey for the payrolls report was conducted — in which 62,000 jobs were added. From ESPN News: Shaquille O'Neal changed from his gray T-shirt and sweat pants into a three-piece suit, then walked by some of the souvenirs he accrued during his NBA days for the final time as an active player.
Framed jerseys from the likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, Mark McGwire, Kirby Puckett, Steve Young and Jerry Rice. An NBA Finals MVP trophy. Bottles of wine with labels bearing the "S" logo that he borrowed from Superman and essentially made his own. ESPN Radio: Baseball, Football, Basketball And Porn Stars?

ESPN radio in Las Vegas is located at 1100 AM on the dial and you can hear sporting events, listen to Sports Center for updates in the sporting world and listen to interviews of athletes and today, a porn actress.
At 2:30 PM, when kids can be listening to them, the "sports reporters" were interviewing some porn actress and talking about all kinds of sex. They were using the words "whore', "slut" and talk about different kinds of sex including having sex with grandpa and grandma and more before I turned it off.
Why would ESPN Radio 1130 have a porn actress on at 2:30 in the afternoon? My son listens ESPN 1100 but now he won't. Why would local advertisers want to advertise on this show with these kind of topics?
Is it sweeps week for ratings this week? What is going on next week? Cannibals? How to perform different sex acts on animals?

One Poker Tournament I Won't Be entering

From The Las Vegas Sun: The World Series of Poker will host the most expensive tournament in the history of the game next summer.
Caesars Entertainment officials and a group of players announced Thursday plans to hold a $1 million buy-in tournament at the 2012 World Series of Poker.
The event is called The Big One for One Drop and is scheduled for July 1, 2012. One Drop is a non-governmental organization headed by Cirque de Soliel founder Guy Laliberte that provides access to water in third world countries.
“A million dollar buy-in seems crazy and, well, it is,” said four-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu in a statement, “but when you factor in a great cause like One Drop getting a percentage of the prize pool, all of a sudden it seems like a fantastic idea and a great way to raise money for charity.”

Teachers Pissed At...Democrats?

Today at the school I teach at, there were a lot of pissed off teachers. They were always pissed with Governor Brian Sandoval who is a Republican, because they perceive Sandoval as the enemy. But today, the teachers I talked to today are very angry at the Democrats regard how they threw teachers under the bus in the latest budget bill. not only did money get cut out of the budget by Democrats, the Dem's also threw teachers under the bus in regards to education reform.
I had one teacher come up to me today almost in tears saying she is a life long Democrats (trust me, she is- she was a delegate for Obama in the 2008 at the National Democratic Convention and she is a sweet and generous woman) and saying she is very angry at the Democrats in Carson City. She is not going to vote Republican mind you, but she is going to push for candidates to run against Democrat incumbents in the next elections for the Assembly and the Senate.
So, I think, as a conservative, that Brian Sandoval threw us conservatives under the bus while the teachers and teacher unions think the Democrats threw teachers under the bus.
Isn't politics lovely?

Breaking News: Hollywood Is Biased Against Conservatives

From The Hollywood Reporter: Author and lawyer Ben Shapiro accuses Hollywood of rampant liberal bias in his new book Primetime Propaganda.
He says the industry's elite uses broadcast to "shape America in their own leftist image."
"I was shocked by the openness of the Hollywood crowd when it came to admitting anti-conservative discrimination inside the industry," Shapiro told The U.K. Independent on Sunday. "They weren't ashamed of it. In fact, some were actually proud of it."
One of the 70 people he interviewed was Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman, who told Shapiro she hired a "bunch of liberals" to "put out there what we believe."
That included casting Newt Gingrich's lesbian sister to play a preacher at a lesbian wedding on the show.
"When we did the lesbian wedding, we knew there was going to be some flack," says Kauffman in the book. "I have to say, when we cast Candice Gingrich as the minister of that wedding, there was a bit of a 'f--k you' in it to the right-wing, directly."
Vin DiBona agrees Hollywood has a liberal bias, saying, "I'm happy about it actually." He says MacGyver, which he produced, has an anti-gun agenda.
"That was the whole premise of the program, that MacGuyver used his brain power and skill and science, and solved all the difficulties through ingenuity. No guns, no knives," he says.
MASH had a pacifist agenda, says co-creator and director Gene Reynolds. "We wanted to point out the wastefulness of war," he says in the book.
Happy Days writer Bill Bickley admits the show had a "whole subtext" against the Vietnam War. "If you really look for it, you can find it," he says.
Shapiro is the hardest on Sesame Street, accusing creators of trying to brainwash children. One of the show's founding executives, Mike Dann, says, the longtime kids series "was not made for the sophisticated or the middle class."
"Sesame Street tried to tackle divorce, tackled 'peaceful conflict resolution' in the aftermath of 9/11 and had [gay actor] Neil Patrick Harris on the show playing the subtly-named 'fairy shoeperson'," writes Shapiro, who also notes Grover breaking bread with a hippy and the socioeconomic and racial undertones in Oscar living in a garbage can.

Stupid Nevada Supreme Court Ruling

Today, the Nevada Supreme Court made a horrible ruling saying that patient talking to a paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician is not privileged communication and the ruling may keep patients to be quiet about their medical condition and end up dying because of this horrible ruling.
From the Las Vegas Sun: An injured person in an ambulance might not want to tell his or her legal troubles to a paramedic.
The Nevada Supreme Court ruled that such conversations are not privileged, as they would be between a doctor and a patient.
David M. Rogers had suffered a cut to his thigh while riding a mountain bike. He was driving himself to a hospital when authorities say he caused a seven-car accident in Carson City that seriously injured at least one person.
In the ambulance, Rogers told paramedic Jeff Friedlander he had smoked marijuana, but asked him not to tell police. Friedlander relayed the information to a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper.
But here is where the Supreme Court is wrong: In his appeal, Rogers claimed the statement made to the paramedic was protected as a doctor-patient conversation. But the court said the privilege between a doctor and a patient is to encourage candor to allow the best possible medical care.

Every EMT/paramedic works under the supervision of a doctor. Each ambulance service must have a doctor as it's medical director. There are no independent EMT's.
As far as the case, this ruling is just plain wrong. It puts the EMT/paramedic in the position of health care provider and a cop. It may also result in a patient not giving important information to an EMT because the fear that the EMT may go to the cops and the person may go to jail because of the conversation.
This is a terrible decision by the Nevada Supreme Court and it may cause a person to be quiet about their medical condition and the end result may be that the person may die.

Stupid Crime Victim News

From the Las Vegas Sun: The Spearmint Rhino topless dancing club in Las Vegas is being sued over a June 2009 incident in which a diamond dealer says an employee stole two rings valued at up to $3.9 million.
An attorney for the dealer, Eli Noor, filed suit Tuesday in Clark County District Court against the adult cabaret and three individuals already implicated by authorities in the theft. Two Spearmint Rhino managers also were sued.
While the Spearmint Rhino has not yet been served with the suit, an attorney for the club said Thursday that the club had expended significant resources in investigating the incident and had cooperated with the jewelry dealer and police – and now is considering a countersuit.

Why would somebody it was a good idea to bring almost $4,000,000 in diamonds and other jewels made into a ring, to a strip club? Because the strippers, employees and clientele are as pure as the wind driven snow?

Caroilyn Goodman Still Leading Liar, err, Chris G.

From the LVRJ: Carolyn Goodman still has a double-digit lead over Chris Giunchigliani in the Las Vegas mayoral race, according to a new poll, but hasn't crossed the threshold to a solid majority yet.
The survey of 604 registered voters placed Goodman on top with 47.8 percent. Giunchigliani registered 30 percent support.
Eighteen percent were undecided, and the rest either responded with "other" or refused to answer.
"It bodes very well for Mrs. Goodman," said Pamela Gallion, director of UNLV's Cannon Survey Center, which conducted the poll for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow.

This should come as no surprise. Carolyn Goodman is the wife of Oscar who is probably the most popular mayor ever. The United States ever. She has the business experience as she help start the Meadows School, which is a very good private school in Las Vegas. She is not a good debater or a great public speaker but she is not stupid either.
Chris Giunchigliani has come off as a liberal, somewhat bitter and a liar. She is also saddled with UMC, the county run hospital, Clark County Fire Department and their scandal over overtime and the budget deficits within Clark County.
So, in a week, the election will be over and we will see a Goodman still in the mayor's office.

Rep. Anthony Weiner Shows His Hot Dog- So What

From CBS New York: Congressman Anthony Weiner said Thursday he’s finished talking about the lewd photo sent from his Twitter account.
But he still wouldn’t say whether he’s the one in the picture.
So CBS 2 political reporter Marcia Kramer decided to go to his office on Capitol Hill to try to get you some answers.
You’ll never believe what happened.
Kramer tried to get an interview with the six-term New York Democrat and as a result had the cops called on her.
Kramer walked in to Weiner’s office, announced herself as being from CBS 2 in New York City and said she’d like to see the congressman. Those few words created quite the stir. So, this is really not big news but it does put the focus on Weiner when the focus should really be the economy and the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.

TSA employees, Murley added, “joked and laughed about the incident for an extended period of time.” After leaving the security line to be “consoled by an acquaintance who had brought her to the airport,” Murley returned to the line, where a male TSA worker said that he had wished he was there when she first passed through. Pawn Stars Review: June 1, 2011

Wow, a 30 minute new episode of Pawn Stars on a Wednesday. Almost as rare as tornadoes in Massachusetts, to which our prayers go out to the folks in MA., Nebraska and Kansas who all had tornadoes today.
The second episode is a rerun from Monday, which is previewed lower on this page.
The first guy had a 1800 Gatling gun that is up in Utah. They, Rick and Sean, went to Ashman's Pioneer Market, which is in Fillmore, UT. http://www.pioneermarketguns.com/ they looked at some guns and then saw the Gatling gun, which was invented by a doctor, Dr. Gatling, who thought the gun would end all wars. The gun was great in shape and shines and all the parts were original. The guy wanted $335,000 for the gun. They also went after a Sharps Carbine from the Civil War. Rick offered $200,000 and then $220,000. No deal. For the Sharps Carbine, rick offered $1500 and the guy wanted $2500. After some bargaining, the carbine went for $1900.
At the same time was a Model T taxi from 1915. The car color was gold/wood, which I thought was unusual since I thought most Model T's are black. It was street legal. Time for an expert, Danny owner of Count's Kustoms. The guy wanted $29,900 while Corey offered $20,000 and then $21,000 and that was the selling price.
The next lady brought in a Charley Weaver Bartender toy. It was a toy that made a drink, drink it and it puckered and smoke came out of his ears. the lady wanted $300 and the Old Man offered $75 and then $85 and then $90 and that was the selling price. Charley Weaver was a real person who had a TV show and also appeared in the early Hollywood Squares

Who Is The Biggest Loser In Nevada's Budget Deal

Who is the biggest loser in Nevada's budget deal where there is more evidence that temporary taxes really are permament taxes.
Easily, the biggest loser is Gov. Brian Sandoval as he just threw the entire Republican delegation in the Assembly and Senate under the bus.
The Republicans stood behind Gov. Sandoval on his no new taxes pledge, including letting temporary taxes expire. They backed him all the way and then he throws them under the bus by making a deal with the Democrats. Sandoval and the Dem's just made the taxes that were set to expire, hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes, more or less permament. Just what the Democrats wanted.
The GOP got little in return, some school reforms that really do little and the Democrats already said ok for.
And in the next governor's election, the first thing the Democrats will point out is that Gov. Brian Sandoval broke his promises in less than 6 months into his term. Kind of like this guy:

Worlds Smallest Violin

An Orthodox Jew who is a prisoner who is there because of he was convicted of kidnapping is sunig the State of Nevada and the prison because the State won't give him Kosher food.
From the LVRJ: An Orthodox Jewish prisoner filed a class action lawsuit Wednesday that claims officials with the Nevada Department of Corrections are violating the First Amendment with their decision to end kosher food options for inmates.
"This is a matter that's been well-litigated," attorney Jacob Hafter said. "Nevada is clearly on the wrong side of the issue. And so we had to file suit because they won't work with us."
Hafter represents Howard Ackerman, an inmate at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City. Ackerman's lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas. He claims the Department of Corrections is violating his First Amendment right to free exercise of religion....
Ackerman, 50, was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole in a kidnapping case.

I'm sorry, but my feelings for this thug is pretty small. If he wants Kosher food, then he should not have committed the crime. Further, if Kosher food is that important to him, why doesn't he find a way to get Kosher food in the prison like working for it or having the local Orthodox Jewish temple bring him some kosher food.
But the prison system is not the place for special diets unless it is for medical reasons. Clearly, Ackerman was not a practicing Orthodox Jew before he went to prison but now he expects the prison to cater to his wishes. Umm, no.
In also raises suspicions is that Ackerman's lawyer is an ambulance chaser in Las Vegas who is probably looking for a big payday for himself.
