From the New York Daily News: Fans of "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" united in outrage on Friday after President Obama mixed up his science fiction movie references during remarks on the sequester.
Obama made the fanboy faux pas after he was asked why he can’t use the power of the presidency to force lawmakers to reach a budget deal.
The president responded in exasperation that people expect him to “somehow do a Jedi mind-meld with these folks and convince them to do what’s right.”
But as fans of the franchises know, Jedis were known for “mind trick,” while "Star Trek" Vulcans performed the “mind-meld.”
The Twitter furor was immediate....
After his Jedi Mindmeld gaffe, many Nerds and Geeks are demanding that Obama release his long-form 5-day Comic-Con pass.
This is what happens when you try to be cool but you have no clue what you are talking about.
Now, Obama has cost the Democrats the geek and nerd vote.
