Why Would We Expect Democrats To Be Honest?

From the Charlotte Observer, on March 12, 2011: Duke Energy Corp., whose CEO is leading the fundraising for the Democratic National Convention, is guaranteeing a $10 million line of credit for the event.
The credit line from Fifth Third Bank is apparently the first time such an arrangement has been used by any Democratic convention organizers.
A Duke spokesman said stockholders, not rate-payers, would be on the line if the convention's host committee defaults. But the head of the committee said it may never have to draw on the money.
"It is just security in the event of a cash shortfall," Will Miller, acting executive director of the Charlotte organizing committee, said Friday. "The host committee is obligated to pay it back, and the host committee will pay it back."  http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/03/12/2133391/duke-guaranteeing-10m-line-of.htmlHahahaha, guess what, Duke Energy, the Democrats screwed you, just like they have screwed the U.S. taxpayer.
From the Washington Times: The Democratic National Committee has no plans to repay Duke Energy for an unprecedented $10 million line of credit it guaranteed to help the Democratic convention’s local host committee put on President Obama’s three-day nominating convention in Charlotte, N.C., last September.
A Duke company official said the company was claiming the money as a business expense for tax purposes, meaning shareholders will foot $6 million of the cost, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer.
The large loan and the secrecy surrounding it have government watchdog groups deeply concerned. They say the arrangement raises serious conflict-of-interest issues for Mr. Obama and challenges his claim to be committed to disclosure and transparency.
Since guaranteeing the loan, Duke Energy previously had refused to disclose the payment terms or when it would come due. At the end of January a Duke Energy spokesman referred all questions about the loan to Dan Murrey, a surgeon in Charlotte who was chairman of the convention host committee.

Yeah, shareholders are going to cover the loan.  How about the rate payers. But this just shows again that the Democratic Party is just a bunch of thugs who are dishonest.  Led by thug in chief, Obama, senile thug Reid and Pelosi and the other thugs in the party.
So, liberals, please defend this.  You know you can't.
