Dr. Heck Has Big Lead In Election

From the LVRJ: Republican Rep. Joe Heck has a 10-point lead over Democratic challenger John Oceguera in a new poll taken as constituents began early voting in their suburban Las Vegas district.
Two weeks before Election Day, Heck leads Oceguera 50 percent to 40 percent in the survey commissioned by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow and released on Wednesday.
At the outset of this year's campaigns, the 3rd Congressional District figured to be the most competitive of the state's four House districts. It swapped out federal representatives in each of the past two elections, and after redistricting it remains evenly divided between Democrat and Republican registered voters.  http://www.lvrj.com/news/poll-heck-has-enough-support-to-win-re-election-175750751.html
Not surprising since Heck is a good guy and is a very smart fella.

Las Vegas Badger Endorsements: Referendums

There are two main referendums in the Las Vegas Valley, one by the City of Henderson and their library system and the Clark County School District and their wanting to upgrade school maintenance and build 2 new schools.
Henderson Libraries:  Henderson Libraries is proposing a 2-cent tax rate increase on the Nov. 6 ballot to help counteract a 30 percent budget decrease.
The rate increase - Question 1 on the ballot - would allow Henderson District Public Libraries to keep all facilities open and continue offering community services.
"I think people are realizing it's not a joke that we will be closing down libraries," said Tom Fay, executive director of the library district. "We don't have the resources to keep them open."
If the initiative doesn't pass, Fay said, Lydia Malcolm Library, 2960 Sunridge Heights Parkway, and the Galleria Library inside the Galleria at Sunset mall, 1300 W. Sunset Road, will be closed. The library inside the Heritage Park Senior Facility, 300 S. Racetrack Road, could be on the chopping block as well.  http://www.lvrj.com/special_sections/voter_guide/2012-voter-guide-henderson-question-libraries-175133991.html
For me, this is an easy and the voters should vote No on the question.  I use the Henderson libraries on a regular basis and for the life of me, i cannot understand why they have so many staff members on duty in addition to a security guard.
The libraries are pretty much all digital, with the librarians only collecting fines and restocking books.  Other than that, all I see them do is sit behind a desk and occasionally helping customers, when asked. Customers check out books themselves, look up on the computer where a book is located and so forth.  I've found the librarians to be rather rude, some of the times and I've never seen them walking around asking people if they need help.
Will they close two libraries?  Sure, if they are incompetent, otherwise I am going to call their bluff.
Endorsement: Vote No on Henderson Library Referendum
The CCSD Building Repair Referendum:
Ballot Question No. 2 asks voters for a six-year property tax rate increase to fund renovations and improvements at aging Clark County schools.
Taxpayers are still paying off the Clark County School District's 1998 bond at a rate of $194 a year for the average home assessed at $100,000. If the increase is approved, the tax rate, which stands at 55 cents for public schools, would increase by about 21 cents per $100 of assessed valuation to generate up to $720 million.
The owner of a home assessed at $100,000 would see a property tax increase of $74.20.  http://www.lvrj.com/special_sections/voter_guide/2012-voter-guide-clark-county-question-2-schools-175133971.html
As a matter of transparency, I am a school teacher in CCSD.
One thing that bothers me is that CCSD is asking voters to pay for significant repairs for schools that are fairly young, as schools go.  When I was going to school, I went to schools that were 40 years old and that was 40 years ago and the school, with some additions is still operating.  I think this true throughout the country.  But we have schools that 10 year old and less in need of serious repair and that's pretty pathetic.
On the positive side of the referendum, the current administration seems to be more in tune with CCSD funds and it's limitations.  Yes, we have an overabundance of administrators and some other wasteful spending, but Dwight Jones has made some cuts and seems to understand reality.
The other positive is that this is a pay as you plan- they are not going to borrow money to pay for the repairs.
The biggest hang up I have with referendum is that the bidding process seems to rigged toward union construction and repair companies.  The bids should be opened to any qualified company- union or not.
In the end, I am going to reluctantly vote yes
Endorsement: Yes on the CCSD referendum

Obama To Men: Screw You

From the Washington Examiner: From the pool report:
Joanne, whose birthday it is today, was at the next table. She’s been trying to win a dinner with Obama through the campaign donation contest. Instead, Obama offered “a birthday hug and kiss.”The president flattered all the women at The Common Man in Merrimack, N.H.,  telling them that “Women are always–usually ahead of the game.”   http://washingtonexaminer.com/in-lieu-of-dinner-obama-gives-woman-a-birthday-hug-and-kiss/article/2511891#.UIxzeWc8VXs
Sure, he's probably pandering, but maybe that is what he thinks of the male species.

Shelly Berkley: Cheater

I guess Shelly Berkley just doesn't get it.  If you are unethical person, maybe the last thing you want to do is break the rules of a parade.
From the Las Vegas Sun: In a serious blow to the dental industry of Carson City, Rep. Mark Amodei, R-Carson City, told the crowd that parade participants weren’t allowed to pass out candy this year — but the clever Amodei brought along dog biscuits to give to people who had brought their pets. Berkley volunteers, as well as some other parade participants, quietly defied the ban, http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2012/oct/27/nevada-day-parade-attracts-candidates-supporters-c/
Maybe the Berkley volunteers should have fed the dog biscuits to Berkley?

More Las Vegas Badger Endorsements: Clark County Commissioners

Here are some more endorsements for Nevada elections in the Clark County Commissioner's races. The county board is one of the most powerful county boards in the country.  They get paid $72,000 + a year and currently, it is an entirely comprised of Democrats.  In the past, there has been corruption on the board.  Now, we just have almost complete incompetence.
Clark County Commission District A: Steve Sisolak (D) vs Barry Herr (R)
Steve Sisolak is about the only conservative/moderate in Nevada Democrat.  He has some good things, like his one man battle, at least in the beginning, with the overtime scandal in the Clark County Fire department.  He also has fought for some fiscal sanity for Clark County and is not an automatic rubber stamp when it comes to spending.
But Sisolak is a Democrat and he has caused some problems, especially in Laughlin when he appointed all liberal Democrats to the Laughlin town board when he was first elected.  He has also helped destroy the coroner's inquest process when a cop kills a person.  It used to be an open hearing and now we have to trust the District Attorney to investigate in private and then make a ruling whether a shooting is justified or not.  There have also been problems with Clark County Health board and their buildings.
Barry Herr is the GOP candidate and to be honest, I have not heard or seen anything from Herr.  Herr has a good idea in which illegals who have to use UMC, the county hospital, that UMC sends the hospital to the country or origin.  Of course, there won't be any payments from the countries and he realizes that.
Endorsement: Steve Sisolak
Clark County Commission, District B: Tom Collins vs Ruth Johnson
Tom Collins is the incumbent and he is pretty much a jerk.  He has been cited by the cops several times during his term in office and has had other problems.  He claims he has done several things for his district, which may be, but he is still a jerk and ill tempered to be a commissioner.
Ruth Johnson is a former school board member seems to have very little work experience.  Her occupation is listed volunteer.
A third candidate is Independent American Party is Warren Markowitz who is an attorney but practices in other states and small business owner in a business that failed.
Sucks to be in this district.
Endorsement: None
Clark County Commission Seat C  Larry Brown (D) vs Craig Lake (R)
Larry Brown is the incumbent and seems like he is a career politician in the Las Vegas area.  He is not a leader and is a center-left candidate.
Craig Lake is a small business owner and wants the board to be more fiscally conservative and deal with UMC, which Brown and the board has really refused to do anything about.
Endorsement: Craig Lake
Clark Commission Seat D: Lawrence Weekly (D) vs Wesely Cornwall (R)
Weekly is the incumbent and is true liberal on the board.  Mr. Higher Spending should be his nickname.  He is another full time politician who has done little in the private sector.
Cornwall is a 21 year old small business owner and has good conservative views even though he lives in a liberal district.  He may be a little young but it certainly beats a professional politician.
Endorsement: Wesley Cornwall

Obama Gets Slapped Down

This will leave a mark.

Stupid Educator News: School Allow Use Of R Rated Movies In Classroom

From The Chicago Tribune: The Hinsdale Township High School District 86 board is supporting a decision by the superintendent to deny an objection from a parent who wanted to keep R-rated films from being shown in a film as literature class at Hinsdale South High School.
The board voted 4-2 Monday to support the denial. Board members Dianne Barrett and Richard Skoda voted against upholding it.
Parent Victor Casini of Burr Ridge filed an objection last month with the district seeking to stop the showing of portions of the films "Brokeback Mountain" and "American Beauty" in the class in which his 17-year-old son is enrolled. Although the district allows students who object to certain materials to do alternate assignments, Casini complained that would lead to students feeling isolated, judged and deprived of an educational experience.
In order for Superintendent Nick Wahl to make a decision on Casini's objection, the district hired an independent consultant to look at school policies and prepare a report on it.
But Skoda said Monday not all school policies were considered in the 57-page report. He sought to have the district continue to look into whether showing the R-rated movies in-class violates school policies and wether they are age inappropriate for high school students. Other board members did not feel that more consideration was warranted.
Trustee Kay Gallo said the district requires parental permission for students to view the movies in class, and believes it's the parents' responsibility to decide whether their children should see the films. She also noted the class is elective.  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/suburbs/hinsdale/ct-tl-hinsdale-d86-appeal-ruling-20121025,0,4598681.story
According to the Motion Picture Association of America: R — Restricted. Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. http://www.mpaa.org/ratings/what-each-rating-means
I'm pretty sure that parents of kids at Hinsdale will not be forced to bring their parents to attend the class in which R rated movies are being seen.
Further, what possible education value does "Brokeback Mountain" and "American Beauty" possibly have that a PG movie doesn't offer?
This is a horrible decision by the Hinsdale Township High School District.  R rated movies have no place in the education curriculum, even if the class is an elective and if they allow these kind of movies in the classroom, it makes me wonder what else they allow in the school.
No wonder home schooling is getting more popular.
(And for those wondering, R rated movies are not allowed in CCSD classrooms and in fact, even PG-13 movies may not be allowed either)

Ann Coulter Asks A Good Question

From Ann Coulter: Perhaps if liberals hadn't coddled Obama his entire life, giving him college acceptance letters, standing ovations and Nobel Peace prizes just for showing up, he would have been more prepared to debate someone a little more challenging than John McCain. It's hard to evaluate Matthews' slander inasmuch as it contains no facts. But if it's conservatives and "the white working class in the South" who are burning with racial hatred, why don't white liberals ever vote for black representatives in their own congressional districts?
Black Democrats apparently can get elected to Congress only from majority black districts, whereas black Republicans are always elected from majority white districts: Gary Franks, J.C. Watts, Tim Scott, Allen West and (we hope!) Mia Love.
How come white liberals won't vote for a black representative? Why can't a black person represent Nita Lowey's district?

Democrats do nothing for black Americans except mine them for votes, ginning them up with tall tales about racist Republicans. This week, a guest on
MSNBC said that Republicans' idea of foreign policy is to go to war with "one of those brown countries over there."
This is in contradistinction to Obama, who simply wants to impoverish the brown people over here. Have you seen the black unemployment rates lately? (They're hard to notice, since the
NFM keeps them hidden in that vast warehouse with the Ark of the Covenant.)
The august New York Times recently explained that illegal immigration has no effect on unemployment because illegal immigrants compete only with "native-born workers without a high school diploma."

As noted by Vanderbilt law professor Carol Swain, author of "Debate Immigration," that means black workers. Illegal immigration, she says, harms blacks "the most because they're disproportionately low-skilled."

In liberals' view, blacks don't count. They aren't -- in the Times' words -- "the bulk of native workers."

Yep, I always wondered why white liberals hate Black conservatives but won't vote for a black liberal in a U.S. House race.
In Nevada, we will see if the white liberals will vote for Stephen Horsford, a black Democrat or a Danny Tarkanian, a white Republican in a district where the Democrats have a voter registration edge by several thousand voters.
So, why do many liberals dislike minorities, especially liberal minorities?

Endorsements From The Las Vegas Badger

Well, since newspapers and and a lot of people give out their endorsements, I thought I'd give it a try.  With the exception of the presidential race, all the other races are Nevada races.  So, here goes:
President: During the primaries, Mitt Romney was not my first choice as the GOP nominee but he is the nominee of the GOP and he is no Obama.
Obama has cost me a lot of money.  Higher health insurance including co-pays and premiums are a direct result of ObamaCare.  Obama's insistence on taxing the rich will probably cost me a few thousand when the tax cuts expire.  Utility and gasoline costs have cost me a lot of money.  I went from a fairly secure middle class teacher to one who survives from paycheck to paycheck.
Obama has cost Nevada tens of thousands of jobs through policy (Yucca Mountain) to regulations (loss of 2 coal fired power plants in Northern Nevada) to the generally ill health of the Nevada economy.
Mitt Romney has a business background and so that will help him deal with the jobless problem and with dealing with government regulations.  He is a modest guy and will not blow out budgets when partying and will not be such a ego maniac who thinks the world revolves around him.  He will add more class to the White House and will have the respect of world leaders world wide.  He's not perfect and not my first choice but he would do a much better job than Obama will do.
Endorsement: Mitt Romney
U.S. Senate: Dean Heller vs Shelly Berkley
Dean Heller, again, would not have been my first choice as the Senator who replaced John Ensign mid term, but he has done a pretty good job.  He's a moderate but can be conservative on certain issues.
Shelly Berkley is a Nancy Pelosi/Obama clone who is quite unethical, though not as unethical of say a Harry Reid.  She is a very liberal Democrat and doesn't represent the values of most Nevadans, outside of a small part of the Las Vegas Valley and a little area of Reno.  She voted for ObamaCare and other large spending items.
Endorsement: Dean Heller
U.S. House of Representatives: District 1 Dina Titus (D) vs Chris Edwards (R)
Sadly, I have not heard anything about Chris Edwards, either in communication with me or any commercials.  If he knew he wouldn't have had the money to run a campaign, he should not have run in the primaries.  The sad truth is that this would have been an easy win for the GOP if he would have advertised because Titus is a thief and morally bankrupt. Having said that, he is good on the issues and if I lived in his district, I would have no problems voting for him.
Dina Titus is probably the most corrupt politician in Nevada in the past 20 years or more.  She was defeated 2 years ago by Joe Heck, so she decided to go back to teaching at UNLV.  She only taught 1 or two classes while getting full time pay.  Then UNLV said she wasn't qualified to teach the classes so she retired along with her husband and collected over $500,000 in severance pay along with her pension.  Working that extra year increased her pension significantly.
On the issues, she is another clone of Pelosi/Obama and maybe even worse.  While at least Berkley strongly supports Israel, Titus is more luke warm.  Further, Titus has no clue about working in the private sector as she has always worked in government jobs as a educator and politician.  She has no clue about reality of working stiffs like me or business owners who have to suffer because she only knows what she reads in text books and academic writings.
Endorsement: Edwards
Congressional District 2: Mark Amodei (R) vs Samuel Koepnick (D)
This District covers all of Nevada except Clark County, so this will be an even win by Amodei.  Again, Amodei was appointed to his position when Heller went to the Senate.  And again, I don't think Amodei was the best candidate for the post, but he won the primary and this is who we have.  He's a good guy and has worked hard.  He leans center-right.
Koepnick spent $17 on the primary and has not been spending any money campaigning, instead of relying on social media to get this message out.  He is mostly concerned with censorship and civil liberties.  The nice thing about Koepnick is that he seems to be a nice guy and is not engaging in mud slinging.
Endorsement: Mark Amodei
Congressional District 3: Dr. Joe Heck(R) vs John Oceguera (D)
This is the District where I live, so I have been following the race closely.  Dr. Heck has run a small business, is a doctor and is in the U.S. Army as a reservist.  Dr. Heck defeated Titus 2 years ago and he has done a good job in the House.  He is center-right on the issues and is very knowledgeable about health care, business and the military.
Oceguera is a former firefighter who apparently liked to screw his firefighter brothers and sisters.  He would trade his 24 hours shifts and then refuse to work their shifts in return.  In addition, he doubled dipped when he was in the Nevada assembly by collecting money per diem and pay from the state when the Assembly was in session and then turned around and collected pay from the fire department.
Oceguera is a liberal on the issues and would not hesitate to raise taxes on everyone.  I doubt he would be an independent in the House but would only follow the Democratic leadership.
Endorsement: Dr. Joe Heck
Congressional District 4  Danny Tarkanian (R) vs Stephen Horsford(D)
This is a new district that was created when Nevada was given an extra House seat.
Tarkanian is the son of UNLV coaching great, Jerry Tarkanian and the Tarkanian family is heavily involved in GOP politics.  Tarkanian is a conservative, both socially and economically.  Yes, his family has had financial difficulties, not unlike other Nevada families but on a larger scale.  Because of this, he may relate better to the foreclosure crisis than Horsford.
Horsford is looking to be the first black representative from Nevada but he has some serious issues.  My biggest problem with Horsford was his parking in a handicapped parking place when he is a pretty health guy.  That was extremely arrogant.  he also has engaged in play for pay activities when he was a State senator.  If he can think he can play for pay here in Nevada, imagine what he could do in Washington D.C.
Horsford loves to tax, especially corporations and other supposed rich, not thinking of the consequences of his actions.  He also helped water down an education bill that would have helped school children.
The hard part for me though, is that I met Horsford when I went to see Obama and Horsford was out shaking hands and he seemed like a really nice guy.
Endorsement: Danny Tarkanian
More endorsements to come in the next day or so.

Remember When...

President Obama said no one would have lose their health insurance coverage if we pass Obama Care?
Well, guess what, it's not true.
From the LVRJ:  The pool of Medicare alternatives will shrink in 2013.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said Wednesday that two big insurers have canceled Medicare Advantage plans in Clark County for the upcoming year. Medicare Advantage is private, supplemental insurance that covers benefits Medicare doesn't cover, such as hearing and vision care.
UnitedHealth Group, Nevada's largest insurer, no longer will offer its Sierra Nevada Spectrum Medicare Advantage program here. The move affects benefits for 3,464 local members.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield also withdrew its local Medicare Advantage plan, affecting 4,430 enrollees....
Bennett said the cancellation is not the result of new regulations in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly called Obamacare. Rather, the company weighed several factors before it cut the program.
"Like all carriers, we evaluate our plans every year as part of the CMS bidding process," Bennett said. "We decided to non-renew in Clark County after evaluating member needs, affordability, cost and long-term sustainability."
UnitedHealth officials said the company considered "regulatory changes as well as local market dynamics" in its decision.  http://www.lvrj.com/business/two-insurers-drop-medicare-advantage-plans-in-clark-county-175888451.html
United Health clearly is getting out because of ObamaCare.
I'm sure CMS also considered ObamaCare when they got out of the market.
And when Obama said no one would lose their insurance plans, he was just proven wrong, and there will be a lot of these stories over the next few years.

Anybody Want A Slightly Used Teenager?

Our 15 year old daughter is on a band trip to California to compete with the school band in a marching band competition.
Within 3 hours, she lost her spending money, $95, and has no idea where is it.
Now, she has to borrow money to get her through the trip.
No wonder I am getting grayer and balder.
I don't think E-Bay will let me put her up for bids.

Another Small Business Owner Comes Out Against Obama

From the Minot Daily News:
The new health-care reform law plays into hiring decisions, and he wishes it were not so, Minot businessman Steve Bigelow told a couple of members of Congress who stopped by his company Friday.
Congressman Rick Berg, R-N.D., who is running for the U.S. Senate, brought Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., to Central Machining & Pump Repair and held a news conference to talk about failings of what is commonly called Obamacare.
"The Supreme Court may have said it's constitutional, but I tell you, it continues to be unworkable for patients and health-care providers," said Barrasso, an orthopedic surgeon before going to Washington, D.C....
Bigelow, co-owner of Central Machining & Pump Repair, said the law is so expansive that it is impossible for his business to understand all the details. The company, which employs more than 30 people, is cautious about hiring because of uncertainty over whether adding staff would trigger new mandates since rules vary with the size of a business. Mandates such as offering health coverage up to 18 months for laid-off employees is just one of the cost concerns, he said.
Berg said the law creates uncertainty over costs that hampers the decision-making of small businesses looking to grow. He and Barrasso also called the law a terrible deal for taxpayers.
"It continues to be for us, as a nation, unaffordable," Barrasso said. Rather than reduce health-care costs, he said, the law has raised health-care insurance costs and more people are at risk of losing their employer-related coverage.  http://www.minotdailynews.com/page/content.detail/id/570278/Minot-businessman-against-Obamacare.html?nav=5010
Until Obama is out of office or ObamaCare is gotten rid of, hiring by most businesseswill be stagnant and the economy will suffer.
Unfortunately, Obama who has never run a business and other liberals just don't understand this.
And why hasn't Obama been running political commercials praising ObamaCare?  Maybe because he knows America hates it?

Crybaby Reid Dementia Strikes Again

Hopefully, the ca accident Crybaby/Coward Harry Reid was in today may have loosened up the rocks he has for brains and maybe he will actually learn to tell the truth.
For instance, Reid said this about the Shelly Berkley ethics investigation in the U.S. House:
Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., said this week that the Senate Ethics Committee would not pick up the case if Berkley becomes a senator. In an interview with the Las Vegas Sun he called the House probe "politically driven nonsense."  http://www.lvrj.com/news/va-chief-in-las-vegas-questioned-in-berkley-ethics-probe-176065261.html
Yo, dumbass Reid, the ethics investigation has been authorized by Republicans and Democrats and it was a unanimous vote.
Is dumbass Reid suggesting that the Democrats on the ethics committee are closet Republicans?
What a dumbass Reid is and he continues to be an embarrassment to the State of Nevada.

I Hate It When Businesses Close Early

I guess some stores just don't want your business.
I went to a CVS pharmacy on Horizon and Horizon Ridge this evening and got there at 9:55 and their door was locked and the store was closed.
The store is supposed to close at 10:00 but I guess some employees had a hot date or had to grab some beer or something so, I could not buy some Ibuprofen for my headache, so I took my business elsewhere, like I will do from now on.
As far as CVS is concerned, I have had nothing but poor service from them, so I am done with CVS.

If You Live In Henderson, NV., May I Recommend....

The family, on my wife's birthday, tried a couple of new places in Henderson and I would recommend them, if you live in the Henderson area.
The first place is a tiny Chinese restaurant named Little Dumplings, which is located at Stephanie and Horizon Ridge.  It's a struggle to get there because the restaurant is located in a Strip mall, behind the Walgreens.  To access it, you have to enter off of Horizon Ridge, in the eastbound lane or on Stephanie in the southbound lane.  Otherwise, you have to do some u-turns to enter the mall.
Little Dumplings has all the usual Chinese and some Thai  meals.  They give you good sized portions and if you dine in, you get free soda.  The food is pretty good but the best part of the meal is that they are fast, very fast.  In fact, they are about as fast as a drive thru at McDonalds at rush hour, if not faster.  The food is hot and plentiful.  So, if you can get there, give them a try.
The next place is the Yogurt Bar, which is just a couple hundred yards south of the Chevron on Horizon and Horizon Ridge.  You can make your own sundae using their yogurt and toppings.  They have at least a dozen flavors of frozen yogurt with at least 20 or more toppings at the toppings bar.
They charge 35 cents an ounce, so you have to be careful and not overload the yogurt and toppings or you will have a $8 sundae but it will be good.
Finally, I tried a new barbershop in Henderson today.  it's located by Boulder Highway and Wagonwheel, on the far east side of Henderson.  The guy that runs the shop (and I don't know the name of the shop- the sign says Barbershop, so I guess that's the name) does a nice job for a basic haircut and it only costs $11.  The guy also has some good stories to tell about sailing and fishing as he also is a fishing guide in California and has sailed yachts around the world for rich clients.
So, if you live in the Henderson areas, please try these places out.  They are all small local businesses and if want to keep small business alive, we need to support them.

Want To Visit Madison, WI.?

Having lived in Madison and went to school there, this clip is both funny and true.  Enjoy:

Maybe If He Went To Intelligence Meetings, He Wouldn't Be So Stupid

Maybe Obama didn't want to know.
President Obama, for whatever reason, has chosen not to go to Intelligence/Security meetings.  Perhaps, if he did, he wouldn't be so stupid on the issue of Libyan.
From Fox News: President Obama said Friday he was "not personally aware" of any request for more security by U.S. diplomats in Libya before the Sept. 11 strike on the consulate.
The president addressed questions about those requests during an interview on "The Michael Smerconish Show." Several weeks ago, former security officers testified on Capitol Hill that they had sought additional protection in the months leading up to the attack -- further, a recently released cable from Ambassador Chris Stevens himself on the day of the attack noted "growing problems with security" in Benghazi.
"I was not personally aware of any request," Obama said Friday, adding that there is an "infrastructure" in place to "manage requests."
"I was not personally aware of any request".  Well, if he went to meetings, maybe he would have been aware.
But, maybe he didn't want to know what was going on so he couldn't be held personally responsible.  Plausible deniability must be Obama's M.O..

Say What?

The Pahrump Valley Times shows it's stupidity again:
DeMeo was visibly angry over the radio controversy and hung up when asked for comment days ago.
 http://pvtimes.com/news/demeo-under-fire-over-radio-contracts/
How can a person be visibly angry when they are talking on the telephone?

LVRJ Reporter Shows Her Liberal Bias Again

Why doesn't liberal LVRJ Laura Myers just come out and just admit she is in love President Obama and Democrats.  Why she just come out of the closest and admit she is liberal and is very biased when she writes news articles.
In today's article about Michelle Obama coming to visit Las Vegas, she wrote the a very glowing and loving article on the event and spoke with love about other Democrats.
The biggest telling thing about Myers article is that when she writes about Mitt Romney, she has to also tell about President Obama, how close the race is and all the things Obama is doing and saying.
In today's article, she only mentions Romney 1 or two times and only says Obama is facing Romney.
http://www.lvrj.com/news/first-lady-tells-nevadans-they-re-key-to-obama-win-176040201.html
The death of the LVRJ continues.

Crybaby Reid Lives Up To His Mission

A couple weeks ago, this is what Crybaby Harry Reid said, with the headline from the Las Vegas Sun:  I guess, this afternoon, Reid was right.  Karma, baby.

Reid calls himself a ‘one-man wrecking crew’ aimed at Romney

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called himself a “one-man wrecking crew” on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s refusal to release his tax returns and warned of “17 angry old white men” spending vast sums on political advertising as he tried to rouse Carson City to vote for Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley and President Barack Obama.   http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2012/oct/23/reid-calls-himself-one-man-wrecking-ball-aimed-rom/

Karma: Crybaby Harry Reid Involved In Crash, Cars Hurt

It's really hard not to smile and say the old fat bastard, Crybaby/Coward Harry Reid was involved in a car accident and then wasted space in the Er because the poor little baby got a bruise on his ribs and hip.  Sadly, some cars were hurt worse than Reid.
From the LVRJ:  U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., 72, was taken to the emergency room at University Medical Center in Las Vegas Friday afternoon following a traffic accident.
Nevada Highway Patrol said his caravan was involved in a six-car accident about 1:10 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15 at Sahara Avenue. Four of the cars were with Reid's caravan.
"Senator Reid was taken to University Medical Center Hospital by his security detail as a precaution, and walked in on his own. Senator Reid was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He experienced rib and hip contusions and has been cleared for release by the doctors," officials with Reid's office said in a prepared statement. They also said some of his staff and security detail had minor injures.
http://www.lvrj.com/news/harry-reid-taken-to-umc-after-car-accident-176021641.html
And then there is from the story:  NHP trooper Jeremie Elliott said the accident involved two Las Vegas police SWAT protection detail vehicles, two U.S. Capitol Police vehicles and two civilian vehicles.
What the hell does Reid need a SWAT detail when he travels?
It used to be that Reid had 1 SUV when traveling in the Las Vegas area, now, he has at least 4 vehicles in his entourage.  Who the hell he thinks he is, LeBron James or a rock star and their posse?
Reid is just on a frickin' ego trip to have so many cars in his entourage and here I thought he was so concerned about the environment.
Funny, that Reid's wife decided to give a speech introducing Michelle Obama while Crybaby Harry was in the hospital.  A couple years ago, Reid's wife was involved in a very serious traffic accident in Washington D.C. and he spent very little time with her, putting the affairs of the Senate ahead of her.  Maybe, this is payback by her.
Finally, you know he got special treatment at UMC, because you don't go in and out at UMC in 2 hours.
And considering all the pain Reid has put people in so much pain, a little baby bruise on his ribs and hip and all the lies he has told in this election, maybe he learned the lesson in Karma- what comes around, goes around or something like that.

King Ego Obama Strikes Again

From the Washington Examiner:
President Obama has spent far more lavishly on White House state dinners than previous chief executives, including nearly $1 million on a 2010 dinner for Mexico's president, according to documents obtained by The Washington Examiner.
Presidents have long used formal dinners to court foreign heads of state and to dish out fine food and wine to reward political, financial and show business celebrities and supporters.
But current and former government officials said the documents obtained by The Examiner point to an unprecedented upsurge in White House spending on such events.
The Obama extravaganza two years ago for Mexican President Felipe Calderon, which included a performance by pop star Beyonce, cost $969,793, or more than $4,700 per attendee, the documents show.
The Calderon dinner was held on the South Lawn in a massive tent adorned with decorated walls, hanging chandeliers, carpeting and a stage for Beyonce's performance.

Guests rode private trolley cars from the White House to the tent. Celebrity guest chef Rick Bayless from Chicago’s Topolobampo restaurant was imported to prepare Oaxacan black mole, black bean tamalon and grilled green beans...
The chief usher of the White House from the Reagan to George W. Bush presidencies, Walters consulted a former White House colleague and said neither of them could recall entertainment costs anywhere near those revealed in the documents provided to The Examiner.
"The highest [cost] event we could remember was $190,000 to $200,000 range, and that was for a very large dinner outside that was probably somewhere in the vicinity of 500 people with two different tents," Walters said, noting that the event was held under President Clinton.  http://washingtonexaminer.com/spending-on-white-house-dinners-soars-under-obama/article/2511758#.UIrsw2c8VXs
A million one one dinner while Americans are struggling to put food on their tables.
Screw the little people, Obama says.

Hurricane Sandy: Big Whop

I guess the news people are tired covering the election so now they are going to focus on a storm named Sandy.
I just got done watching the Weather Channel and how they are getting upset about 20-40 mph winds.
So what.  Earlier this week in Las Vegas, we had 20-40 mph winds with gust around 60 mph.  No one cared because it wasn't a big deal and we dealt with it.
When we get rain, it floods here.  We don't panic and make a run on the Home depots and Lowes.
I'm sure that's the same just about everywhere else.
And my guess is that not much will happen early next week except some rain and a little bit of wind and maybe snow in the higher elevations, which the kids will love.
So, when i think of a hurricane Sandy, I think of this:

Happy Nevada Day

Happy Nevada Day to all Nevadans.
Of course, all State and local government offices are closed down for the day so we can clebrate Nevada Day.  I am sure there is a parade somewhere honoring Nevada.
I'm celebrating by taking the day off of school, sleeping in and doing very little.
Happy Nevada Day.

Live By The Teleprompter, Die By the Lack Of the Teleprompter

From Peggy Noonan:
We all say Ohio, Ohio, Ohio. But it's all still Denver, Denver, and the mystery that maybe isn't a mystery at all.
If Cincinnati and Lake County go for Mitt Romney on Nov. 6 it will be because of what happened in Denver on Oct. 3. If Barack Obama barely scrapes through, if there's a bloody and prolonged recount, it too will be because of Denver....
Why was the first debate so toxic for the president? Because the one thing he couldn't do if he was going to win the election is let all the pent-up resentment toward him erupt. Americans had gotten used to him as The President. Whatever his policy choices, whatever general direction he seemed to put in place he was The President, a man who had gotten there through natural gifts and what all politicians need, good fortune.
What he couldn't do was present himself, when everyone was looking, as smaller than you thought. Petulant, put upon, above it all, full of himself. He couldn't afford to make himself look less impressive than the challenger in terms of command, grasp of facts, size.
But that's what he did.
And in some utterly new way the president was revealed, exposed. All the people whose job it is to surround and explain him, to act as his buffers and protectors—they weren't there. It was him on the stage, alone with a competitor. He didn't have a teleprompter, and so his failure seemed to underscore the cliché that the prompter is a kind of umbilical cord for him, something that provides nourishment, the thing he needs to sound good. He is not by any means a stupid man but he has become a boring one; he drones, he is predictable, it's never new. The teleprompter adds substance, or at least safety.http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204530504578079232194509700.html?mod=djemEditorialPage_h
Obama is lucky he is still in the race considering all the screw ups in his administration.

And Yet No One Has Been Fired

Imagine if this was a Republican, though most Republicans are not this incompetent:
From Fox News: Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that three urgent requests from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack nearly seven hours later were denied by officials in the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.
Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to "stand down."
Woods, Doherty and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.
At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours -- enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.
A Special Operations team, or CIF which stands for Commanders in Extremis Force, operating in Central Europe had been moved to Sigonella, Italy, but they too were told to stand down. A second force that specializes in counterterrorism rescues was on hand at Sigonella, according to senior military and intelligence sources. According to those sources, they could have flown to Benghazi in less than two hours. They were the same distance to Benghazi as those that were sent from Tripoli. Specter gunships are commonly used by the Special Operations community to provide close air support.
No one has been fired, even though 4 people died but I guess, that's just not optimal.
Again, I ask, what if this was a Republican administration- there would be calls for the president's impeachment.

Just Curious: Why Are Liberals Voting For Obama?

Why are liberals and others voting for President Obama?
Is it because they love Obama?
Is it because they think he is a great guy?
Is it because the liberals love his policies?
Or is it because he is not Mitt Romney?

Likewise, are conservatives voting for Romney because he is not Obama?
Or because Romney is such a great guy?
Just wondering.

This Is What Happens When Democrats Are In Charge

From the LVRJ:
The Nevada Supreme Court ruling Thursday to strike down the revised coroner's inquest was being viewed as a victory by both proponents and opponents of the fact-finding process.
The high court said the county ordinance was unconstitutional due to a legal technicality, however, it affirmed the inquest did not violate the due process of law enforcement officers.
Richard Boulware, vice president of the Las Vegas NAACP, said the ruling vindicates the revisions made to the process.
Chris Collins, head of the Police Protective Association, said in a statement that the police union, "applauds the Nevada Supreme Court in its ruling that the Clark County coroner's inquest process is a violation of the state constitution."
County commissioners changed the inquest process last year in response to critics who called the previous version biased in favor of police. The new system added a lawyer to represent the family of the dead, an addition that police union leaders said transformed a fact-finding hearing into a fault-finding one.
In the ruling, all seven justices agreed that the "inquest scheme," which now calls for a justice of the peace to oversee the proceedings, "unconstitutionally intrude(s) upon the Legislature's exclusive constitutional authority to determine the jurisdiction of justices of the peace."  http://www.lvrj.com/news/nevada-supreme-court-strikes-down-revised-coroner-s-inquest-process-175820401.html
Before the Clark County commissioners, all Democrats, we had an open inquest system.  This is sytem was was not perfect, at least the inquest was open.
Now, because of the incompetence of the Democrats on the Clark County board, all we have is the District Attorney reviewing police shooting and he does it quietly and without any scrutiny.
Now, we have nothing.  Thanks Clark County Democrats band of idiots.

CEO Let's Employees Know The Consequences Of Obama Re-Election

Good for CEO:
From Charlie Sykes:
Lefties are "stunned." But this is a powerful warning from Mike White, the chairman and owner of Rite Hite, who warned employees of the real-world consequences of re-electing Obama. Read it here.
White tells workers "should understand the personal consequences to them of having our tax rates increase dramatically if President Obama is re-elected, forcing taxpayers to fund President Obama's future deficits and social programs (including Obamacare), which require bigger government."
"The tax rate we pay is not 17%, as Warren Buffett would have you believe; with state taxes it is roughly 45%. President Obama has announced that our planned tax rate would increase to roughly 65%, reducing our after tax income by 36% and dramatically reducing, if not eliminating, your and my RSP contributions."..
"the money will be sent into the abyss that is Washington, D.C. So, on top of the burden of having your personal taxes increase dramatically, which they will, your RSP contributions and healthy retirement are also at risk, all for the sake of maintaining an over-sized government that borrows 42% of every dollar it spends.http://www.620wtmj.com/blogs/charliesykes/175810281.html
There are going to be negative consequences to businesses and employees if Obama is re-elected- that cannot be argued.
Hopefully, more CEO's will speak out.

Band Night

Some parents are soccer moms.  Others are parents of athletes.
We are band parents and we will be out watching the kids playing in the band at the Foothill football game in Henderson.
Won't get back till 11:00- if we are lucky.

More Liberal Election Dirty Tricks

Apparently, the liberals don't believe they can win an election fair and square, so they are resorting to cheating.
From WKMG, Orlando, FL:
The FBI is joining an investigation into bogus letters sent to many Florida residents, including the Republican Party of Florida chairman, that raise questions about their eligibility to vote.
FBI officials said Wednesday the FBI will focus on letters received by voters in 18 counties in central and southwest Florida.

According to the Republican Party of Florida, Chairman Lenny Curry received one of the fake letters on Tuesday.
"This type of activity is not only disgusting, it is criminal, and must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law," Curry said in a release.  "I call on Florida Democrats to join me in condemning this false letter writing campaign that appears to target likely voters in Florida, and help RPOF get the word out about this false campaign."
Local 6 first reported the bogus letter scam on Monday, which claim to be from county supervisors of elections but are postmarked from Seattle. They raise questions about the voter's citizenship and appear intended to intimidate people.
The FBI says voters who get a letter should contact their supervisor of elections and then keep the letter for the FBI.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is also investigating.  http://www.clickorlando.com/news/Florida-Republican-Party-leader-receives-hoax-letter-FBI-investigates/-/1637132/17117694/-/acss1ez/-/index.html
The liberals are worried that Voter ID bills are intimidating voter but in reality, it seems like liberals are the ones who are intimidating voters.

Media Bias: Channel 5 And 8

Well, we can say that Las Vegas Channel's 5 and 8 are President Obama's love machine.

Obama humps Channel 8 News Director While Channel's 5 Director Watches And waits
They are both carrying President Obama's campaign speech in prime time.  Channel 3 is showing it on their cable TV station.  Channel 13 is not showing it at all, which is probably making Rikki Cheese all hot and pissed off.
Channel 5 can be partly excused because they are just interrupting a local show and the news comes on in 10 minutes.
Channel 8 has no excuse other they are sleeping with the Obama campaign, as shown above.

Fired Fast And Furious Whilstler Blower Cops Reinstated

Fromt he Reno Gazette Journal: The Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives whistleblower who was fired after speaking out about the U.S. Justice Department’s failed Fast and Furious gun-running operation and the breakdown between ATF and U.S. attorneys in Reno is back on the payroll. The U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board, which oversees federal employment issues, granted a request by the Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal investigator, on Tuesday to put ATF special agent Vince Cefalu’s firing on hold for 45 days while it looks into his case....
On Wednesday, Cefalu said he received a call from the ATF Special Agent in Charge with the San Francisco Field Division telling him that they have restarted his pay and are sending him his equipment, including his badge and firearm.
“They’re eating crow,” he said in a telephone interview.
ATF Special Agent Helen Dunkel, spokeswoman for the ATF San Francisco office, said she could not comment on Cefalu’s reinstatement....Two ATF officials confronted Cefalu in a Denny’s parking lot in South Lake Tahoe on Oct. 10 and served him termination papers, he said.
At the time, Cefalu told the Reno Gazette-Journal that he believed his firing was “retaliation for speaking out against incompetence and mismanagement” not only with the botched Fast and Furious program but also for speaking out about the breakdown between ATF and the Reno U.S. Attorney’s office.
Cefalu’s website CleanUpATF.org reported that the ATF office in Reno was in shambles and he spoke on the record with the Reno Gazette-Journal about the problems. He said the Reno office had been one of the most productive in the country but management failed to resolve the problems.  http://www.rgj.com/article/20121024/NEWS/310240122/Fired-ATF-whistleblower-gets-job-back-while-his-case-reviewed?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|s
I wonder high up in the Obama administration this guy's case went before they ordered him fired?  Maybe Eric Holder or Janet Napalitano?

Just Curious

According to the White House information, President Obama gives his speech in Las Vegas at 9:30, which will last about 30 minutes or less.
He then is scheduled to leave Las Vegas at 11:35PM,
What is Obama doing for the extra hour and a half while he is in Las Vegas?
Having a Tiger Woods moment?

Voter Fraud, What Voter Fraud

More Democrat Voter fraud and this will be the dirtiest election ever:
From Project Veritas:
Project Veritas has released a new investigation that exposes Representative Jim Moran’s Field Director, Patrick Moran, conspiring to commit election fraud.
When approached by an undercover investigator for advice on how to steal the votes of more than 100 people, Moran advised falsifying documents to satisfy Virginia’s new voter ID law. He said, “Bank statement obviously would be tough, but they can fake a utility bill with ease.”
Moran went on to clarify that, “You’d have to forge it.”
Announcing the release, James O’Keefe said, “This is the most damning evidence to date of the scope of voter fraud in this country. Patrick Moran is not only the son of an 11-term Congressman, but is also the Field Director on his father’s re-election campaign.
“If anyone should be opposed to voter fraud it’s him. Yet he actively encouraged our investigator to forge documents and pose as a pollster to disenfranchise registered voters in Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Maryland.”
For much of 2012, Project Veritas has been conducting an ongoing series of investigations in more than a dozen states demonstrating the ease with which election fraud can be committed and legitimate voters can be disenfranchised. And they’ve shown that no one is immune. In April, a Project Veritas investigator was even offered the ballot of Attorney General Eric Holder himself.  http://www.projectveritas.com/node/149
Project Veritas also has video of an Obama worker who is helping an undercover reporter to commit voter fraud:

Clint Eastwood's Anti Obama Ad

Now, That's A Big Cow

I'm from Wisconsin and have seen way more than my share of cows but this is the biggest cow I have ever heard of:
From the LVRJ:  Holy cow, that's one big bovine.
We're talking the Mack truck of livestock, with hooves like hubcaps and haunches the size of your car trunk.
He weighs nearly 3,000 pounds and goes by Herman.
The beefy black-and-white Holstein spends his days munching on hay and soaking up sun outside the Longstreet Inn and Casino in lonely Amargosa Valley, at the southwestern edge of Nye County near the California line.
When Herman first got here, eight years ago, he was about 4 feet tall. At last measure, he stood 6 feet, 4 inches from hoof to withers. His owner, Jim Marsh, believes Herman may be the tallest steer in the world.
"He just kept growing and growing," said Marsh, an animal lover and longtime Las Vegas car dealership proprietor known for appearing in commercials with his daughter, Stacy, and his grandson.
Marsh, 78, also is known in small towns and cow counties for being a community booster and historic preservationist. He owns a bunch of rural Nevada properties, including the 60-room Longstreet.
Herman was born at a nearby dairy, where he was briefly kept as a pet by one of the workers. He ended up in Beatty, where a friend of Marsh's was fattening up the animal for slaughter.
"You hate to see a pet steer end up on your dinner table," Marsh said.
So he paid $600 to rescue Herman from the barbecue. Then Marsh had the steer hauled to the Longstreet, built in 1995 on state Route 373 about 95 miles northwest of Las Vegas. There Herman grew. And grew. Soon he was towering over Marsh, who is 6 feet tall.
http://www.lvrj.com/news/gentle-giant-herman-has-no-beef-with-humans-175703841.html
Doesn't sound like Herman is going to become steaks or hamburger anytime soon.
I just can't see how the cow survives the heat, though.

Another Fake Racism Case

Clearly, this woman needs help but she has also made legitimate claims of racism harder to believe.
From the New York Daily News: Forensic evidence indicates that a 20-year woman suffering from extensive burns set herself on fire then invented a story about being doused in flammable liquid by three men who she said also wrote the initials KKK and a racial slur on her car, state police said Tuesday.
On Sunday at 8 p.m., Sharmeka Moffitt called 911 from a walking trail in Winnsboro and told authorities she had been doused in flammable liquid by three men wearing white hoodies. She suffered extensive burns on more than half her body and was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport for treatment.
After two days of investigating the case, authorities said Tuesday that the forensic evidence indicates Moffitt set herself on fire.
"The evidence does not support the statement that she was attacked by three males," said Louisiana State Police spokeswoman Lt. Julie Lewis.
Lewis said Moffitt's fingerprints were found on a lighter and lighter fluid recovered from the scene. Investigators also believe Moffitt used toothpaste to draw the KKK initials and racial slur on her vehicle. DNA evidence also points to Moffitt, she said.
Every time someone claims racism, true or not, you really have to wonder if it is true.

Vegas Merry Go Round Talk Radio Continues: Savage back

The merry go round of talk radio in Las Vegas continues.
Michael Savage is back on the radio station that has never had a web site, KBET 790 AM.  He is on live, from 6-9PM.
KBET has some big stars on since it went from classic country to talk radio.  They have Dennis Miller, Glenn Beck, Roger Hedgecock (though he may be the odd duck out) and Mike Huckabee.
On KDWN, AM 720, Rusty Humphries is on from 12-3, replacing Jerry Doyle, who has gone to the 3-6 shift.
The merry go round continues.

Big Time Sports Bookmaker, ESPN Radio Star Arrested In Vegas

From the LVRJ:
Cantor Gaming sports book director Mike Colbert was arrested Wednesday by state gaming agents in conjunction with a warrant filed by the District Attorney's office in Queens County, N.Y.
Gaming and legal sources confirmed the charges involve PinnacleSports.com, one of the largest off-shore sports wagering websites. Sources said agents for the website were arrested in several cities Wednesday. New York prosecutors are expected to release more information Thursday morning at a news conference.
Colbert, 32, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a fugitive charge. He faces eight counts of conspiracy, money laundering and enterprise corruption.
He is scheduled to appear Monday in Clark County District court.
Gaming Control Board Chief of Enforcement Jerry Markling said Colbert was arrested at 6 a.m. at his home. He was one of eight people arrested in Las Vegas in connection with New York charges.
Colbert was the only person arrested with ties to Nevada's gaming industry....
In his role with Cantor, Colbert is the operation's chief oddsmaker and oversees the company's race and sports book business.Cantor Gaming leases space inside seven Las Vegas-area casinos - M Resort, Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, The Venetian, Palazzo, Tropicana, Hard Rock and Palms - and owns and operates the race and sports book facilities.
According to various sports wagering publications Colbert is a 10-year veteran of the state's race and sports book industry. He is considered one of the industry's most respected personalities and routinely is quoted on sports wagering issues by national publications and on sports talk radio programs.
  http://www.lvrj.com/business/sports-book-director-for-cantor-gaming-arrested-175670521.html
Today, ESPN 1100 AM radio was pretty quiet on the arrest even though I have heard Colbert talking a lot on ESPN radio.
Hopefully, these are trumped up charges.

Stupid Anti-Dean Heller Commercial

There is a TV commercial running against Dean Heller in which a small business woman is complaining that dean Heller voted against a bill that gives women equal pay for equal work.
A woman named Cundy Funkhouse, who apparently who owns a pawn shop or collectible/antiques shop, is almost in tears complaining about Heller.
My question is this: If she is a business owner, she is not affected by any equal pay, unless she is paying women unequally.
She also complains about the amount of time she works at her store, but in reality, she is in charge of First Friday, an event for the arts.  Well, according to her, spends 6 hours a day working on First friday and gives very little time to her store:
On an average day, how much time is spent doing that as opposed to running your store?
In general—answering a lot of calls, e-mails and working on sponsorships—I spend no less than six hours a day on First Friday. The Funk House doesn’t get a lot of me.  http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/news/2009/jul/02/interview-issue-cindy-funkhouser/
What a liar, she is and the liberals who are running the commercial.

Obama Lied, Should Be Impeached

Why hasn't Obama been impeached yet?  Hopefully, after all the information is gathered, he will be impeached if he is re-elected over the Benghazi, Libya terror attack.
From Reuters:  Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.
The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.
The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.
U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the Benghazi assault, which President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials ultimately acknowledged was a "terrorist" attack carried out by militants with suspected links to al Qaeda affiliates or sympathizers.

Administration spokesmen, including White House spokesman Jay Carney, citing an unclassified assessment prepared by the CIA, maintained for days that the attacks likely were a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim film.
While officials did mention the possible involvement of "extremists," they did not lay blame on any specific militant groups or possible links to al Qaeda or its affiliates until intelligence officials publicly alleged that on September 28http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/10/24/us-usa-benghazi-emails-idUSBRE89N02C20121024
Almost every time, the coverup is worse than the actual screw up.
Obama needs to go and if he is re-elected, he needs to be impeached.

More Las Vegas Media Bias

Tonight, Channel 8 of Las Vegas is extensively advertising that tomorrow night at 9:30 PM, they will be running live, President Obama's campaign speech from Doolittle Park.
Today, they did run Mitt Romney's speech at 1:00 this afternoon.
Gee, I wonder which time has the bigger audience?
And why are they showing these speeches live when they have done so previously?
To be fair to both sides they should run the speeches at the same time, like around 6:30 to 8:00 or at another time.
I wonder whatever TV stations are going to show Obama's speech during prime time?

Some Thugs Are Just Animals

In the New York City area today, an ex-con who has already been convicted of attempted murder and dealing crack, killed a cop and innocent man in cold blood.
From the New York Daily News: A murderous ex-con blew away a Nassau County cop and an innocent motorist Tuesday during a rampage that ended when he shot himself and was captured after a massive manhunt.
Darrell Fuller, who did five years for a 2004 attempted murder, exchanged a few brief words with Officer Arthur Lopez before blasting the highly decorated officer in the chest, cops said. He was not wearing a bulletproof vest.
The gunman then forced a Brooklyn man off the Cross Island Parkway before pumping a bullet in the unsuspecting victim’s head, cops said.
“Someone is chasing me,” frightened driver Raymond Facey, 52, told his daughter in a phone conversation just seconds before Fuller pulled the trigger and stole his car.
The shocking double murder near Belmont Park race track on the Nassau-Queens border set off an intense seven-hour search involving hundreds of detectives chasing leads and banging on doors.
Fuller, 33, surrendered meekly around 6:30 p.m. while cowering in a stolen van just blocks from his home in St. Albans, Queens. A 911 call tipped cops to a gunshot coming from the vehicle — presumably the blast that left him with a self-inflicted wound to the shoulder. He  was taken to Jamaica Hospital....
“Local Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association officials demanded an investigation into why Fuller wasn’t kept behind bars after his arrest two years ago for drug dealing....
The hit-and-run driver finally exited on Jamaica Ave. in Bellerose Terrace. Lopez and his partner hit the lights on their vehicle and the car pulled to a stop on 241st St., cops said.
Lopez approached the car and had a brief conversation with Fuller before the gunman pulled his weapon, shot the officer in the chest and left him to die near a Mobil gas station.
“The officer’s just walking up to the car,” witness Paul Walcott said. “They just pulled out (a gun) and shot. He went right down . . . He went straight down.”
This animal will probably be revered in the New York prison system.
Please tell me again why people are against the death penalty for these kind of animals?

Let Teh Voter Fraud Begin

Wisconsin is a swing state in the presidential election and they have a very close U.S. Senate election as well and so what do the liberals in Wisconsin, why cheat, of course.
From jsonline: Milwaukee election officials failed to check those registering to vote for a time this week against a list of felons ineligible to vote, and the mistake became fodder for a new round of fights over election rules.
Election workers on Tuesday retroactively checked the 204 people who registered in Milwaukee on Monday and found that none of the residents were felons ineligible to vote. But the situation made clear that voting policies will be ripe for partisan bickering from now until the Nov. 6 election.
A separate dispute Tuesday centered on guidelines that say election observers should stand at least 6 feet from the table where voters check in at polling places on election days. Also at issue was a recent decision by the state Government Accountability Board to allow those registering to vote on election day to show copies of utility bills or other proof of residence to poll workers on smartphones.
"We feel this is going to be a contentious voting period," accountability board attorney Mike Haas told the board Tuesday.
Monday marked the first day of early voting and thousands of people around the state took advantage of it. In Milwaukee, 2,369 people voted, including the 204 people who registered to vote that day.
Those registering to vote are to be checked against a list of felons who are currently under state supervision and ineligible to vote. Those checks didn't happen in Milwaukee on Monday, according to Neil Albrecht, director of the Milwaukee Election Commission.
The state Republican Party complained about the issue to the Government Accountability Board, which runs state elections. The accountability board told the election commission where it could get the felon list online, but the election commission did not have the list loaded onto city computers until late Monday, Albrecht said. http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/city-officials-failed-to-check-voters-registering-against-felons-list-ro7b2k9-175490511.html
The issue about checking for felons, or not check for them, is a statewide issue, just not Milwaukee.
Let the cheating begin.

Las Vegas Lies/Misleads Readers

The Las Vegas Sun is pretty much tied for being the most unethical newspaper in Nevada witht he Pahrump Valley Times.  Both papers are run by lunatics who are just a bunch of cowards and bullies and both papers love to lie and mislead it's readers.
Today, the Las Vegas Sun runs article that totally mislead's the readers.  It's about when a president comes to Las Vegas and the impact it has on McCarren Airport.
From the Sun and an unknown reporter: It’s nice of the president of the United States to visit Las Vegas as often as he does, but doesn’t he cause a bit of disruption at McCarran International Airport each time he drops in?
Well, pardner, you’re right about that — President Barack Obama does seem to have a hankering for these parts. He’s flown into Southern Nevada six times this year — make that seven after Wednesday night’s drop-in.
Each time the president lands in that beautiful airship of ours, and again when he takes off, the air space around McCarran is closed for 30 to 45 minutes. Not only are aircraft told to keep their distance, but all airport workers on the ground — including the good folks handling baggage, fueling, food deliveries and the like — are told to go indoors until they get the all-clear from the Secret Service and the Federal Aviation Administration.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2012/oct/23/ask-mr-sun-how-airlines-mccarran-are-affected-pres/
The story goes on and talks about how Obama's visit interrupts scheduled airplane travel but the story makes no mention of all the headaches it causes the tourism helicopters that also fly out of McCarren.  The story also doesn't mention that all the area airports also have to shut down as long as the president is in town.
Part of liberal bias is what you do or do not put in an article or news story.  In this case, the unknown and cowardly writer chose not to mention all the bad damage that happens when a president visits Las Vegas.
Once again, it is no wonder that the Las Vegas is a dying newspaper, that may last only a year or two more.

The Death Of A Conservative Newspaper

The Las Vegas Review Journal was one of the few conservative newspapers in the country, both in the news and in the editorial page.
However, in the past several weeks, the LVRJ has taken a decidedly turn to the left in the news section, writing many flattering news articles on President Obama and other Democrats while virtually ignoring the GOP. (The editorial page is still fairly conservative)
Leading the charge is Laura Myers, who, when President Obama came to Las Vegas in late September, lied about the number of people at the rally and then claimed she got her numbers from the Democrat Party.
She is constantly writing in glowing terms about how the Democrats have a large lead in both voter registration and the number of Democrats voting so far in early voting, like that really makes a difference in the outcome of the election.
Then you have someone named Chris Sieroty writing about some English bookmaker making Obama a heavy favorite in the election.  Again, that has nothing to do with the election, other than there's a bunch of English people putting more money down on Obama.  But it's huge news for the LVRJ.
Then there is an article about how the unions are helping Obama, written by the new liberal star at the LVRJ, Laura Myers.
And the articles about Romney?  Well, today they had an article about Romney's and Paul Ryan's visit to Henderson, written by Myers, and of course, at least a third of the article was about Obama.
I've been getting home delivery of the LVRJ for the past 8 months, but I have spent the last 2 months and talking to 4 LVRJ employees, trying to cancel my subscription to the paper. They must be getting desperate over there, that they are sending the paper to me every morning for free.
So, another conservative newspaper bites the dust, thinking they will do better by being more liberal.  Think again, LVRJ.

Why Obama Cannot Be Re-Elected

From the National Review Online: A U.S. ambassador is missing and his diplomatic team is desperately fighting off terrorist attacks. Our commander-in-chief and his national-security team in Washington are listening to the phone calls from the Americans under attack and watching real-time video from a drone circling overhead. Yet the U.S. military sends no aid. Why?
On September 11, at about 10 p.m. Libyan time (4 p.m. in Washington), Ambassador Chris Stevens and a small staff were inside our consulate in Benghazi when terrorists attacked. The consulate staff immediately contacted Washington and our embassy in Tripoli. The White House, the Pentagon, the State Department, and numerous military headquarters monitored the entire battle in real time via the phone calls from Benghazi and video from a drone overhead.
Our diplomats fought for seven hours without any aid from outside the country. Four Americans died while the Obama national-security team and our military passively watched and listened. The administration is being criticized for ignoring security needs before the attack and for falsely attributing the assault to a mob. But the most severe failure has gone unnoticed: namely, a failure to aid the living.
By 4:30 p.m. Washington time, the main consulate building was on fire and Ambassador Stevens was missing. In response, the embassy in Tripoli launched an aircraft carrying 22 men. Benghazi was 400 miles away.
At 5 p.m., President Obama met with Vice President Biden and Secretary of Defense Panetta in the Oval Office. The U.S. military base in Sigonella, Sicily, was 480 miles away from Benghazi. Stationed at Sigonella were Special Operations Forces, transport aircraft, and attack aircraft — a much more formidable force than 22 men from the embassy.....
Fighter jets could have been at Benghazi in an hour; the commandos inside three hours. If the attackers were a mob, as intelligence reported, then an F18 in afterburner, roaring like a lion, would unnerve them. This procedure was applied often in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Conversely, if the attackers were terrorists, then the U.S. commandos would eliminate them. But no forces were dispatched from Sigonella.  http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/331125/first-aid-living-bing-west#
If Obama is re-elected, it will be open season on diplomats and ambassadors because the terrorists know that the U.S. will not come to their aid.
Just remember, losing 4 men is not optimal.

Liberals Begin Rioting

Let the rioting begin.
From Charlie Sykes, a Milwaukee radio talk show host:  State Sen. Neal Kedzie just released the following statement:
Early on Friday morning, October 19th, my son Sean was awakened by noises outside his residence in Whitewater. As he went to see what the commotion was about, he noticed an individual removing a Romney/Ryan yard sign from his property. He yelled to the person that they were taking something not theirs and to return it immediately. The individual returned the sign, however, a second person confronted and attacked Sean without warning.
Sean was wrestled to the ground by both persons, held down by a constricting chokehold, and struck repeatedly about the face and head. He nearly passed out from the chokehold and suffered contusions to his face and eyes.
Fortunately, an alert neighbor heard the commotion, scared the individuals away, and called the police. My wife and I were awakened by a telephone call from Sean’s roommate that Sean had been taken by ambulance to Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital.
Sean was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital the same day. As this was a private family matter, we chose not to remark publicly about it and allow law enforcement to do their job. But we understand these types of incidents will eventually become public and questions will arise, particularly in my position as a state legislator.
Sean is still recovering from the injuries he sustained as a result of this beating, and we are confident he will make a full recovery. But obviously, as parents, we are shaken by this event and very troubled it was apparently initiated and motivated for political reasons.  http://www.620wtmj.com/blogs/charliesykes/175306581.html
All this over a stupid sign.

October Trump Surprise?

From the U.K. Daily Mail:
Donald Trump is to claim that he has unearthed divorce papers of Michelle Obama and the President, according to a respected financial pundit with links to the tycoon.
It is alleged that the eccentric real estate mogul will claim that the documents show the First Lady and the President were at one point in their two decades of marriage seriously considering splitting up.
Trump set the hare running on Monday by claiming that he was set to make an announcement on Wednesday that would be ‘bordering on gigantic' and that it would ‘possibly’ change the Presidential race.
The billionaire told Fox & Friends that he had 'something very, very big concerning the president of the United States'. 'It's going to be very big. I know one thing- you will cover it in a very big fashion’.
Trump declined to elaborate, but today an investor who appears on the same business talk show as him claimed to have more details.
Douglas Kass, a Florida-based investor who appears on CNBC’s talkshow ‘Squawkbox’ where Trump is often a commentator, tweeted to his 48,000 followers: 'High above the Alps my Gnome has heard that Donald Trump will announce that he has unearthed divorce papers between the Prez and his wife.'

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me, after all, who has been talking about Tiger Wood moments in Las Vegas.
It also seem strange that on Thursday, President Obama comes to Las Vegas and then the very next day, Michelle is coming here as well.
It also explains why the Obamas just don't like traveling together.
But is it important enough to throw an election?  No, not really.
