Mayer left the Bilbray campaign on friendly terms and will continue as an informal adviser to the campaign, Mayer told the Sun Friday evening. Independent journalist Jon Ralston, in a tweet Friday afternoon, was the first to report Mayer’s departure.
Bilbray is trying to unseat incumbent Republican Rep. Joe Heck in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, which includes Henderson, parts of Las Vegas and Boulder City.
Political observers expect the race to be heated because the district is almost evenly split between Democratic and Republican voters. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2014/jan/17/bilbray-campaign-manager-calls-it-quits/
The excuse- "federal elections weren't his cup of tea" is completely bogus. What, he thought Bilbray was running for Henderson dog catcher?
What this indicates that Bilbray is in trouble and that there needed to be a shakeup within the campaign.
But it's not going to help as Heck is well liked within the district and he is running against a Democrat, a party that will lose many, many House and Senate seats.
