Rats Fleeing Sinking Ship?

From the Las Vegas Sun: The campaign of Democratic congressional candidate Erin Bilbray has lost its manager, Bradley Mayer.
A veteran political consultant for local candidates, Mayer said federal races were not his "cup of tea" and now was the right time to exit the campaign.
Bilbray is trying to unseat incumbent Republican Rep. Joe Heck in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, which includes Henderson, parts of Las Vegas and Boulder City.
Political observers expect the race to be heated because the district is almost evenly split between Democratic and Republican voters.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2014/jan/17/bilbray-campaign-manager-calls-it-quits/
The excuse- "federal elections weren't his cup of tea" is completely bogus.  What, he thought Bilbray was running for Henderson dog catcher?
What this indicates that Bilbray is in trouble and that there needed to be a shakeup within the campaign.
But it's not going to help as Heck is well liked within the district and he is running against a Democrat, a party that will lose many, many House and Senate seats.
