Stupid CCSD Employee News

A elementary school principal and office manager (different schools) were busted for meth and pot yesterday.
The office manager foolishly took the meth to his school and it fell out of his pocket and was found by another clerk. Police were then called.
From the Las Vegas Sun: According to Rodriquez’s arrest report, police were called to Simmons Elementary after the school clerk found a plastic bag with a white crystal substance near the copy machine.
Police said the substance tested positive for methamphetamine. This was the second time drugs were found in the school office; a similar substance was found months earlier in a magazine on the office manager’s desk, police said.

The Principal, Leroy Espinoza, was arrested at his home: Police then went to Rodriquez’s home, where they met Espinosa, who gave them permission to search the house and his car, according to Espinosa’s arrest report.
Officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the house and methamphetamine in Espinosa’s car, the report says

Espinoza and the office manager, Joseph Rodriquez, are housemates.
At the last report, they are still in jail and they have a court date set for Saturday morning.
My guess is that the office manager will be fired immediately. The principal may get off with a suspension and be reassigned to a central office position where he has no contact with children. He may also resign as he 20 years in the district.
Either way, just stupid to bring drugs into a school.
Hate to be in that house after they get out of jail.

  1. Ii. Am sorry to hear that this has happened. Mr Espinoza has been a wonderful principal to both of my children. He has supported this school & these children as a father. He made sure that every child in his school was taken care of, paying for lunch, buying supplies, rewarding good children & protecting them from the bad. He is a good man with a good heart.

  2. Thanks for stopping by Ellen, and I am sure he is a good man.
But you also have to wonder about his life choices and the contradictions he just put the kids in at his school.
