Another muslim Terrorist Attack

One wonders if all London police officers were armed or there was concealed carry, if the results would have been different?  Only about 7% of the plice officers in Great Britain are armed.
From the Daily Mail, U.K.: Three people and a terrorist are dead after an attacker brought carnage to central London today, mowing down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and hacking at police with knives in the grounds of the Houses of Parliament.

Around 20 people were hit when a 4x4 drove along the pavement on the crowded bridge, knocking down and seriously injuring pedestrians before crashing into a fence below Big Ben.

The killer, described by witnesses as 'middle-aged and Asian', then managed to break into the grounds of Parliament, where he fatally stabbed a police officer with two knives.

The policeman died at the scene. The attacker - who was shot at least twice by armed officers guarding the building - died after he was taken to hospital. 

Prime Minister Theresa May tonight vowed Britain would 'never give in to terror' and 'defeat hate and evil' after she blasted the 'sick and depraved' attack in Westminster. 

She added the 'forces of evil would never drive Britain apart' and praised police and security staff who 'ran towards danger even as they encouraged others to move away'.

It is currently believed he was the only 'lone wolf' attacker. Around 20 pedestrians and three other police officers were injured.

Prime Minister Theresa May was bundled into her car by a plain-clothes police officer and driven quickly from the scene as the attack unfolded. She chaired a meeting of the Government's emergency Cobra Committee tonight.

Scotland Yard said the attack, which comes a year to the day after the atrocities in Brussels, is being treated 'as a terrorist incident'.

Witness Jayne Wilkinson said: 'We were taking photos of Big Ben and we saw all the people running towards us, and then there was an Asian guy in about his 40s carrying a knife about seven or eight inches long.

'And then there were three shots fired, and then we crossed the road and looked over. The man was on the floor with blood.

'He had a lightweight jacket on, dark trousers and a shirt. He was running through those gates, towards Parliament, and the police were chasing him.'

Her partner David Turner added: 'There was a stampede of people running out. You saw the people and you thought 'what the hell is going on'.' 

Foreign Office minister Tobias Ellwood was among those who rushed to help the policeman who had been stabbed.

It's a sad day for Britain, but not surprising since this was a muslim attack inside a city where there is a muslim mayor and who has said that terrorism is thing that can happen in a big city so deal with it.

The Shame Of Sanctuary Cities

From the Washington Times: Homeland Security officials have identified 118 different sanctuary cities across the U.S., according to the first edition of President Trump’s new name-and-shame policy, released Monday, that suggested Clark County in Nevada and Nassau County in New York were likely the worst offenders in the first week.

During that period, from Jan, 28 through Feb. 3, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it became aware of some 206 illegal immigrants whom sanctuaries refused to turn over. ICE said it expects that number to grow as it learns of more names.

Los Angeles refused to turn over a convicted arsonist from Mexico, while Philadelphia balked at cooperating on a Jamaican man accused of murder.

The numbers in the new report already show a major change from the Obama administration, which required illegal immigrants to have major convictions on their records to be a target for deportation. Instead, under Mr. Trump those charged with crimes — but not yet convicted for them — are being targeted, and the bar for criminal behavior earning deportation is lower.

Of the 206 people known to have been shielded by sanctuaries, just 87 were convicted of their key charges at this point. The rest were at the level of charges.

“There’s a clear public safety issue here,” said one Homeland Security official, briefing reporters on the numbers ahead of their release.

Domestic violence, drunken driving, drug offenses and sexual or aggravated assaults dominated the list. There were some striking cases as well, including the Riverside Regional Jail in Hopewell City, Virginia, which released a convicted rapist, and three men — two in Texas and one in Oregon — convicted of indecent exposure.

In Maryland, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County each released men from El Salvador charged with assault. Both counties are on ICE’s sanctuary city list.

Not only are these sanctuary cities endangering their own citizens, they also endanger the rest of us if these criminals decide to move elsewhere and their criminal past is not known until they break another law, which probably will happen.

Not All Illegal Drug Sellers Are Young Gangbangers

From the Kingman Daily Miner:  MAGNET executed three search warrants resulting in six arrests on Thursday.

The Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team, part of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area initiative, started the day by serving a search warrant in the 3700 block of Lum Avenue.

Lenore Conrique, 52, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies. Frank Conrique III, 57, was arrested on active warrants. A 58-year-old man was arrested on a failure to pay misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court. During a search of the property, about a half-ounce of methamphetamine was allegedly located along with other items of paraphernalia.

And this: The Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested a 59-year-old Kingman man Thursday afternoon on felony drug charges.

Tony M. Anderson Sr. was taken into custody at a resident in the 5000 block of W. Camelback Loop in northeast Kingman. The felony charges include possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

We think that young gangbangers are the ones dealing in meth, pot, coke and other illegal drugs but it seems like there are more older people who are also doing the selling and getting caught.

Perhaps, here in Kingman, we have an older population and that is why the older people are selling but I suspect it is happening in other cities as well.

It's truly a shame that these older adults may die in prison for doing the selling and dealing, but it serves them right.

RIP Chuck Berry

From the LVRJ: Multiple speakers told a Senate panel on Friday that they would be proud to fly through Harry Reid Las Vegas International Airport if a name change proposal became a reality.

Speakers ranging from Assemblyman Nelson Araujo to DREAMer Astrid Silva testified in support of Senate Bill 174 before the Senate Government Affairs Committee.

Letters of support were also submitted from MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment, as well as from congressional representatives, including U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and Representatives Ruben Kihuen and Jacky Rosen.

There were opponents, as well, with several focusing not so much on Reid as on the attack on current airport namesake Sen. Pat McCarran, who served Nevada for decades in various public offices....

Las Vegas resident Rob Lauer said Nevadans should be ashamed for attacking McCarran, who served the state for 50 years in the state Assembly, as a member of the state Supreme Court and as a U.S. senator.

McCarran served in the Senate from 1933 to 1954, when he died of a heart attack.

In a statement after the hearing, Assembly Minority Floor Leader Paul Anderson, R-Las Vegas, said others are more deserving of such an honor.

I've been reading a book this past week, and it was hard to put down, "The Few and the Proud: Marine Corps Drill Instructors in Their Own Words" by Larry Smith.
It's a book about the drill instructors at Parris Island, which is where about half the Marines receive their basic training.
The book tells stories about drill instructor life, from about World 2 to about 2006, when the book was written.
The D.I.s were proud of their work and their job, even if we, on the outside world, for the most part, don't understand it.
It also talked about how they instilled professionalism and morals into the soon to become Marines.
Having read this and seeing the scandal the Marine Corp is going through has to be tough for the D.I.s who instructed these Marines.
From the Wall Street Journal:  A small group of Marines that contends the official military response to a nude-photo and cyber-harassment scandal has been too slow is pursuing a vigilante-like name-and-shame campaign in hopes of forcing swifter action.

Both active duty and veteran Marines said they have for days been providing names to investigators, or publishing them on the internet, identifying service members allegedly associated with websites that have posted nude photos of female Marines and harassed other service members.

“Marine leadership hasn’t done much of anything the last six years of this,” Marine veteran Shawn Wylde said in an email to The Wall Street Journal.

Marine Commandant Gen. Robert Neller said he first learned of widespread sharing of nude photographs by Marines in January, and then moved to shut down the main site involved and launch an investigation. Since then the Marine Corps and other branches have broadened the investigation and Gen. Neller has testified in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee about the matter, drawing the ire of some lawmakers who said he hasn't done enough to punish wrongdoers or their supervisors.

Mr. Wylde, who has a Facebook page with tens of thousands of followers, has been posting names of people allegedly affiliated with controversial social-media sites, including the group “Marines United,” attracting attention from investigators.

Mr. Wylde said he is acting now because of a March 10 statement of condemnation about the cyber harassment by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, a retired Marine general.

“Once General Mattis came out the other day against this online harassment we took it as a signal to move forward in exposing these creeps,” he said.

Other social media users have begun to follow his example by posting names and photos of Marines and veterans suspected of involvement in the offending online sites.

I haven't blogging much, partly because I going to work today for the 12th straight day with many more days in a row to work.
But also, there isn't much to write on.
The Democrats hate President Trump and everything they find or say is an impeachable offense against Trump.
The Republicans in Congress are a bunch of weak kneed, media loving incompetent bunch of fools ever elected.
The media makes up things, distorts the truth and every news item is a Special Report.
President Trump is kicking everyone's ass-Democrats, Republicans, the media, conservatives and liberals in general. They don't know what to do with him because he is so unpredictable.
So, it's the same old same old.
And it will be for the next 4 8 years.

Even A Democrat Is Pro Trump

Not all Democrats are evil, stupid or a combination of the 2.
There are actually some good Democrats who care about the United States and Democrat Henry Cuellar is supportive of President Trump, in some ways, at least.
From the Daily Caller: Approximately 30 countries are refusing to accept the deportations of illegal immigrants who have committed serious crimes in the U.S., according to Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar.

While these countries are refusing to accept the deportations of these criminals, the U.S. government is still issuing visas and student visas to citizens of those countries, according to the Texan congressman. There is already a law on the books which allows the U.S. to hold visas from a country that is not taking back its criminals, but according to Cuellar, the U.S. is not enforcing it.

“We’re not enforcing it, which is amazing. So now my intent is to go back to our committee on appropriations and affect their funding until they do that,” Cuellar told Sharyl Attkisson, host of Full Measure, in an interview.

Cuellar, a Democratic member of the House Committee on Appropriations, told Attkisson that the Supreme Court has ruled that illegal immigrants arrested for criminal activity can only be held for a certain period of time before they must be released.

On Wisconsin: Badgers Defeat #1 Seed To Go To The Sweet 16

Villanova must hate the State of Wisconsin.  First, the Marquette Warriors defeated Villanova who were #1 at the time and undefeated earlier this year in mens college basketball.
And just now, the Wisconsin Badgers, my alma mater, defeated the Wildcats, who were the #1 seed in the entire tournament, 65-62.

Investigative journalist David Cay Johnston obtained what he claims to be the first two pages of Trump’s federal income tax returns.....

The documents show the President and his wife, Melania, paid $5.3 million — less than 4% of their overall income — in taxes, along with $31 million under the alternative minimum tax. That’s comes to a rate of roughly 25%. The top federal tax rate on regular income in 2005 was 35%.

Heavy.com identified Mr. Spicer’s attacker as Shree Chauhan, a former educator and a child of Indian immigrants. She filmed the unrelenting verbal assault and broadcast the video on Periscope.

“You work for a fascist, how do you feel about that?” she demanded to know. “How do you feel about destroying our country, Sean? How do you feel about that? “That is racism and it is an implied threat,” she wrote. “Think about the sheer audacity of Mr. Spicer to say that to my face with a smile, knowing that he is being recorded on video and the position of power he holds in our government.”

She's Back!!

Just over a year ago, I wrote about a new driver, Sarah Cornett-Ching (http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2016/02/the-new-danica-patrick.html)
She drove in the ARCA races and did a nice job until she got a concussion, just like Dale Earnhardt.
She did not get the publicity like Dale Jr.,, which I am sure is fine with Sarah.  With Dale Jr., it seemed like every time he had to do to the bathroom, NASCAR.com broke in with a live report.
Well, here is an update on Miss Parker-Ching from ESPN:  Six months after Sarah Cornett-Ching suffered a debilitating concussion in an ARCA race at Kentucky Speedway, the 25-year-old driver returned to competition with a record-tying sixth-place finish in a super late model event at a North Carolina short track. It was a performance that left the Canadian excited once again about racing.
"The race itself went really well, better than I expected and better than I think a lot of people would have thought," Cornett-Ching said. "That's reassuring and I'm super excited to get to the next race."In Saturday's Pro All Stars Series race at the four-tenths-mile Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama, North Carolina, Cornett-Ching battled Tanner Thorson for fifth in the closing laps before settling for sixth. Her sixth-place finish equaled the performances of Tayla Orleans and Kenzie Ruston, making them the highest finishing female drivers in PASS history....
Since her ARCA accident in late September 2016, Cornett-Ching has worked with Dr. Jerry Petty, a Charlotte-based neurosurgeon. Petty is affiliated with the International Council of Motorsports and is an independent neurological consultant for the NFL and NFL Players Association.
"Thank goodness for Dr. Petty. He's been a godsend," Cornett-Ching said.
During her recovery, Cornett-Ching used iRacing, the premier online motorsports racing simulation Website. She also had numerous private test sessions at the 0.363-mile Hickory Motor Speedway, located about 30 minutes from her team's Denver, North Carolina, race shop. For the past 8 years, ex-president  Obama wowed the world with his picks and filling out his NCAA men's basketball bracket.
Now, what will the mainstream media do, since President Trump probably won't fill out a bracket Will they:
1.  Mock Trump for not filling out a bracket?
2.  Beg ex-president Obama for his picks?
3.  Run "breaking news" if Trump does make picks?
4.  Completely ignore Trump for making the picks?
5.  If Trump does make a bracket, he will be laughed at and mocked if he misses just 1 pick during the entire tournament.
6. Say Trump is a wimp if he doesn't fill out a bracket and that the future of the United states is at risk because he didn't fill out the bracket?
7.  If Trump fills out the bracket, he will be ripped on for wasting taxpayer money because he did it on the taxpayer time.

Somehow, I think all have possibilities of happening, no matter what Trump does.

It's Like God Said "Let There Be Spring"

2 days ago, in hour hamlet of Kingman, AZ., we had to turn on the heater at night to stay warm.
Yesterday, we had to turn on the swamp cooler to cool off.
We had a colder than average winter this year and seems like God said "enough" and created our Spring for the year.
Of course, if you like about 40 miles to the West, in Bul Head City, AZ, they skipped Spring and just went into Summer, with highs in the 90's.

The charge was lodged against 30-year-old Shane Allen Schindler at a hearing in which a justice of the peace ordered him to undergo a mental competency evaluation.

Clark County Public Defender Phil Kohn derided the charge of attempted murder as "a legal impossibility," saying someone can't kill an inanimate object.

First, the good news.  You beat a murder and other charges and you are released from jail.
And the bad news: Someone really wanted you dead and you are shot down within minutes of being released from jail.
From the Chicago Tribune:  A Chicago man accused of murder who beat his case when prosecutors couldn't give him a speedy trial was killed after leaving Cook County Jail on Monday night, according to authorities. 

Kamari Belmont, 23, was being held on separate murder and robbery cases stemming from a single night in 2015 in which he was accused of shooting one man during a robbery who later died and robbing another man a couple of hours later.....

At 5:30 p.m. Monday, a friend of Belmont’s posted $10,000 bond. Belmont was released at 11:12 p.m. 

Someone pulled alongside him in a white SUV on California Avenue a couple of blocks south of Cook County Jail on Monday night before midnight and started shooting. The 6-foot-3 brute, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was on a southbound J train at about 5:30 p.m. on March 1 when he confronted the victim at the Crescent St. station in East New York.

“F-----g Mexican,” the suspect said. “Go back to your country.”

It's Official: Vegas Gets 2nd NASCAR Race

From the LVRJ: A proposal more than 10 years in the making is expected to become reality Wednesday with an announcement the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will receive a second NASCAR Cup Series race.

A news conference has been called for Wednesday afternoon, at which officials from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and local government will attend. The news conference will follow a special meeting of the LVCA board of directors at Cashman Center.

NBC Sports reported Tuesday the road course at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be used for its fall playoff race in 2018, fueling speculation the playoff race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway would be sacrificed to accommodate Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway, along with those in Charlotte and New Hampshire, are owned by Speedway Motorsports, Inc. In recent years, the only way for a track to add a second Cup Series race has been to transfer an exisiting date from a sister property.

In 2018 or Vegas will get a 2nd NASCAR race, and NHL team and get the Oakland Raiders in addition to all the other sports in Vegas such as the bull riding and rodeo, thevNHRA drag races 2 times a yearnPGA golf, all the soccer and rugbytournaments, the college basketball tournaments, the major boxing and MMA major events  and other major sporting events.
