Goodby to NASCAR and IRL at the Milwaukee Mile?

According to ESPN, the promoters at the Milwaukee Mile at the State Fair park are in danger of losing their races because they have not paid fees to the racing leagues. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/racing/indycar/news/story?id=4297770
"Promoters have paid prize money to teams but they have not fully paid sanctioning fees owed to NASCAR and the IRL, according to reports in the Charlotte Observer and Indianapolis Star. Both leagues confirmed those reports to The Associated Press on Tuesday."
"IRL spokesman John Griffin acknowledged the league's issue with the Milwaukee promoter, and said league officials are trying to set up a meeting to work things out. Until they do, the track's date on next year's schedule is in limbo.
"We've really got to clear up these outstanding issues from 2009 before we look at 2010," Griffin said"

It's a shame. I've been to several races at the Milwaukee Mile, in West Allis. If they lose those races, not only will Milwaukee area race fans lose out, so will local businesses who provided services to the race teams and the fans. Of course, they can still collect parking fees from the track during the State Fair.
