Hey Morons, You're Too Late

From the LVRJ: Demonstrators rallied outside the federal building in Las Vegas on Saturday to protest U.S. Sen. Dean Heller’s vote against more extensive background checks for gun purchasers.
Speakers accused the Nevada Republican of caving in to pressure from the National Rifle Association and ignoring the majority of Nevadans who support the expanded background checks.
Johnathan Abbinett, a longtime hunter and gun owner, urged the crowd of some 150 at the “Shame on You” protest not to give up the fight for gun control embraced by families of victims of last winter’s school massacre in Newtown, Conn.
“The NRA lobby lied and bullied Dean Heller,” Abbinett said. “This wasn’t about taking away or even registering guns; it was about making sure the only people who can purchase a weapon are safe. That’s the vast majority of people.”
Heller communications director Chandler Smith did not immediately respond to a message for comment.
Protesters marched and waved placards at passing motorists before hearing speakers. One protester dressed as a chicken held a sign reading, “Dean Heller is Chicken,” while others waved placards reading, “It’s Still Easier to Buy a Gun than to Cancel Your Gym Membership.”  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/government/las-vegas-protesters-criticize-hellers-stance-gun-background-checks
You honestly think that Heller really cares about what these idiots think after the vote was taken?
And 150 people showed up and this warrants a newspaper article?  That means about 2,100,000 in the Valley approve what Heller has done.

May She Rest In Hell

From the LVRJ: A mother who was found dead along with her two children at their home on Friday afternoon stabbed the boy and girl before turning the knife on herself, Las Vegas police said Saturday.
The dead woman’s sister found the bodies inside the southwest valley home, police said.
The two children were Hope Stream Serra, 11, and Cory Yoon Serra, 9, according to the Clark County coroner’s office. Their mother was Hae Chong Serra, 40.
The boy had stab wounds to the neck, and his death was a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.
The girl had multiple stab wounds on her head and chest, and her death was a homicide, coroner’s officials said.
The mother had multiple stab wounds on her neck and torso, and her cause of death was suicide, according to the coroner’s office.
County records show Serra and Christopher Serra, 39, owned the house where the deaths occurred, buying the three-bedroom residence in 2005. The home is at 10226 Wolf Pack Lane, near Fort Apache Road and state Route 160.
The couple married in Clark County in June 2001. Christopher Serra’s whereabouts wasn’t immediately known.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/crime-courts/mother-killed-children-herself
I'm sorry, there is no reason whatsoever for a mother (or father) to kill their children and if they do, there is no place but hell that these parents belong.

Why I feel Like Crap Yesterday

stiff neck cartoons, stiff neck cartoon, stiff neck picture, stiff neck pictures, stiff neck image, stiff neck images, stiff neck illustration, stiff neck illustrations
That and the pain medication really slows you down.

Stupid Judge News

Maybe a judge appointed to the bench by Ronald Reagan needs to be declared senile.  How else to explain this federal judge's ruling.
From Philly.com:
Torturing animals and filming their painful deaths is an activity protected by the U.S. Constitution, according to a federal judge in Texas.
In an opinion issued this week, U.S. District Judge Sim Lake tossed out charges against a Houston couple accused of violating the federal “animal crush video” statute. Lake wrote that the law “abridges the freedom of speech protected by the First Amendment.”
Ashley Nicole Richards and Brent Justice allegedly created and distributed violent sex fetish videos -- nimal snuff films -- that depicted the torture of puppies, kittens, rabbits, and other animals.
In one of the videos, Richards was seen torturing a pit bull puppy. According to the Houston Chronicle, Richards bound the puppy’s mouth with tape, cut its back leg with a meat cleaver, slit its throat and severed the dog’s head from its body.
Other videos purportedly show Richards crushing crawfish, crabs and lobsters under her bare feet or stilettos. According to the Houston Press, Richards allegedly stomped a kitten then ground her shoe heel into the animal’s eye-socket.
After complaints from animal rights activists, Richards and Justice were arrested in August and charged with five counts of violating the animal crush video statute and two obscenity counts.
The statute, passed by Congress in 2010, outlawed “any photograph, motion picture, film, video or digital recording, or electronic image that: (1) depicts actual conduct in which one or more living non-human mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians is intentionally crushed, burned, drowned, suffocated, impaled, or otherwise subjected to serious bodily injury; and (2) is obscene.”....
In his opinion, Lake concluded that the acts depicted in the videos were “disturbing and horrid.”
But the federal animal crush video statute could not withstand “strict scrutiny and therefore abridges the freedom of speech protected by the First Amendment."
The judge is completely wrong on this case and hopefully, will be overturned.
Hopefully, these POS that committed these acts of horror will meet up with a PETA worker and the PETA worker will do the same thing to these POS couple.

Shock: Woman Pro Basketball Player Is Gay

Like this surprised anybody: It wasn't a big deal when Brittney Griner, the top pick in the WNBA draft, acknowledged this week that she is lesbian. ESPN radio’s Jared Max thinks that is very awesome.
“It was cool the way it just slipped out, and I think that tells us that we have become very comfortable with gay women in sports,” said Max, who came out two years ago. “I think it tells us that we are comfortable for gay men in sports, too.”
When Sports Illustrated’s Maggie Gray interviewed Griner and the two other top picks in the draft, Elena Delle Donne and Skylar Diggins, the conversation turned to sexuality in sports.
Griner casually acknowledged that she is gay.
“I wouldn’t say I was hiding or anything like that,” said Griner, the Baylor star who was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury. “I’ve always been open about who I am and my sexuality.”
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/baylor-star-top-wnba-pick-acknowledges-gay-article-1.1320676
I think it would have been more of a shock if she said she was straight.

Just Think If Were 7 People Or More

One 19 year old thug held the City of Boston and some of it's suburb hostage yesterday.
The city was locked down, flights were cancelled, mass transit did not run, schools closed and people took the day off of work.
Just 1 kid did this.
What would happen if a more well organized group decided to create more havoc?  Close down a state, a region or even the United States?
Just something to think about.

ICE Union Head Thrown Out Of Press Conference By Democrat

Chuck Schumer speaks on Thursday, April 18, 2013. | John Shinkle/POLITICO
Gang of 8 of Old White Men
You would think liberals/pro-union people would be pissed at this. From the Daily Caller: Chris Crane, head of the immigration officers union, was pulled out of a Senate press conference today when he tried to question Sen. Chuck Schumer during the televised roll-out of the 844-page immigration rewrite.
While reporters asked questions, Schumer ignored three requests from Crane, who sought to question him about aspects of the far-reaching law, which promises to tighten enforcement of immigration laws at borders, airports and seaports.
“Will you take a question from law enforcement?” Crane asked, repeating the question twice before being removed.
Schumer ignored the question, and repeated his advocacy for the bill. Crane’s union represents agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) service.
Schumer and the other Senators have struggled to control the debate about the bill, which was released this week after months of closed-door drafting. Supporters are now trying to win Senate approval of the far-reaching bill by June.
Critics say the bill has many loopholes and flaws that will allow political appointees to minimize enforcement of immigration law.
Crane, who heads the president of the National ICE Council, has been a vocal critic of the bill.
The border patrol, and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, are part of the Department of Homeland Security.

You would think The Gang of  8 Old White Men would want to hear from the union that has the most at stake and enforces the rules.
But Schumer, like the crack head he is, decided he didn't want to answer any hard questions, so he stuck to the media who threw 18 inch softball questions to him.
Just another reason to oppose the immigration law the Gang of 8 Old White Men is proposing.

1 Bombing Thug To Meet 72 Virgins, Other, A Judge

As you probably heard they caught the two brothers who are the main suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing.
During their last moments of freedom, they killed a cop, shot another officer, carjacked an innocent person committed a few more crimes.
One thug was killed in the shootout and is meeting his 72 virgins:

The second thug is in the  hospital and when he is released, he will be getting his court appointed attorney, free food for Muslims, the Koran and other benefits of being in jail.
One hopes he will be tried in federal court where he can receive the death penalty, otherwise, if he is convicted in a Massachusetts court, all he will get is life in prison without parole.
Another reason to support the death penalty.

Boston Marathon Bombing Suspects Are Russian

From Philly.com: One of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing is dead after the killing of a university officer and a shootout with police, and a massive search is underway for the other, authorities said early Friday.
Police are locking down some neighborhoods in Boston and its western suburbs as they search for the remaining suspect: known as the man in the white hat from marathon surveillance footage.
That man dropped the bombs at the race finish lane, Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis said, according to the Boston Globe.
Authorities have not named the suspect, though the Associated Press identified the surviving suspect as 19-year-old Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, of Cambridge, Mass.
The suspects are from a region of Russia near Chechnya and had lived in the United States for at least one year, the AP reported. The two are brothers, according to NBC News.
Officials urged residents in Watertown, Newton, Waltham, Belmont, Cambridge and the Allston-Brighton neighborhoods of Boston to stay indoors. All mass transit was shut down and businesses were asked not to open Friday. People waiting at bus and subway stops were told to go home.
"We believe this to be a terrorist," Davis said of the suspect on the loose. "We believe this to be a man who's come here to kill people. We need to get him in custody."
Television news footage showed police going door to door in the neighborhoods.
The Middlesex district attorney said the two men are suspected of killing a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer on campus in Cambridge late Thursday, then stealing a car at gunpoint and later releasing its driver unharmed. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/1_Boston_Marathon_bombing_suspect_dead_2nd_at_large.html
If they are from Chechnya, they are probably some bad ass dudes as the Chechen people have taken on Russia and at times, kicked their butt.

Update: Cop Killers Are Bombers?

From the Boston Herald:
An MIT police officer was shot dead late last night on the MIT campus and an MBTA officer was wounded early this morning in a second encounter in Watertown in a wild scene that involved explosives as well as gunfire, police said.
State police spokesman David Procopio said police were investigating whether there was a connection between the shootings and the Marathon bombings. By 2:30 a.m., Procopio said that two suspects were in custody in Watertown, but police were still actively searching for more suspects.
"We don't know how many suspects there are," Procopio said.
Dozens of police who had converged on the MIT scene near Kendall Square after the shooting there around 10:48 p.m. raced toward Watertown shortly before 1 a.m. this mornin,g toward an armed standoff with suspects in the Arsenal Street area, where heavily armed SWAT teams and uniformed cops with their handguns drawn were actively searching for suspects.
Police in Watertown were shouting warnings that the suspects were “throwing explosives, and warned about “unexploded ordinance.” They later shouted that one suspect was in custody and another was still at large.
Procopio said the MIT and Watertown incidents were believed to be related, and the watertown situation began as part of the search for suspects in the MIT officer's killing.
“We tried to stop a vehicle in Watertown. There was another officer shot in Watertown,” Procopio said.
At least one FBI agent was on scene. The initial incident began with gunshots reported at 10:48 p.m. at Building 32, Stata Building, on Vassar Street near Main Street, off Kendall Square.

Mom Of The Year Award?

From the New York Daily News:
Two children have been discovered living in a New Jersey storage unit.
Trenton police Lt. Mark Kieffer tells The Trenton Times newspaper officers went to a storage locker in nearby Ewing on Thursday after a woman arrested earlier in the day told them her two sons were there.
Police discovered a 5-year-old and a 10-year-old living inside a filthy, narrow, unheated unit at the Extra Space Storage facility.
The children were removed by police. The Mercer County prosecutor's office is investigating.
Police say the boys' mother was arrested for slashing the tires on her boyfriend's car. They say she told them about her children as part of routine questioning on whether she had any dependents.

Makes me wonder where the school was on this incident.  Didn't they notice that the kids were not being bathed, clothes not being washed etc.
Sadly, the 10 year old did not speak up.
Hopefully, the kids will receive the help they need and the mom will receive the help she needs.

NASCAR Seeks Revenge On Team Penske

Want to shut up a driver who is outspoken?
Fine, suspend and steal points from the team.
That's what has happened to Team Penske and Joey Logano and Brad Keslowski.
From ESPN:  NASCAR came down heavy Wednesday with penalties from inspections last weekend at Texas, suspending four members of defending Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski's Penske Racing team and three from teammate Joey Logano's team.
Keselowski and Logano were docked 25 points each, as were their car owners. Their crew chiefs -- Paul Wolfe for Keselowski and Todd Gordon for Logano -- were suspended for six point races and the All-Star Race and fined $100,000 each. The team engineers for each team, as well as team manager Travis Geisler, also were suspended for six point races and placed on probation until Dec. 31.
Penske Racing immediately announced plans to appeal the first major infraction with the new "Gen 6" car, which means all those suspended will remain with their teams for this weekend's race at Kansas Speedway and future races until that process is complete.  http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/9182346/nascar-punishes-penske-drivers-texas-missteps
If these rules violation were team violations, then why wasn't Roger Penske fined?
Unless Team Penske decided at the last minute to use illegal parts, then why did NASCAR wait until the last minute to check for it- why not inform the teams that the parts they were using were illegal?
NASCAR is run like a mini dictatorship in which the France family pretty much in charge of the sport.
If you suck up to the France family and their minions, you will do ok in the sport.  If you piss them off , like Keslowski and Logano have done this season and last, then NASCAR and France will get you and your team.

More Tragedy In Massachusetts

From the Cambridge Wicked Local: An MIT police officer was shot and killed at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, according to Massachusetts State Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
The shooting reportedly happened near Building 32 (Stata) on the MIT campus. Witnesses say several ambulances responded to the area at Vassar and Main streets. Massachusetts State Police patrols, K9, Air Wing, detectives, and crime scene techs responded to the scene.
“An MIT campus police officer responding to a report of a disturbance in the area of Vasser and Main streets was reportedly shot,” said a press release from the Middlesex DA’s Office.  “According to authorities, the officer was found evidencing multiple gunshot wounds.  He was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased.”
State Police said they were assisting Cambridge Police in the search for a suspect or suspects, processing the crime scene, and providing investigative support.
According to the University's website, "Responding agencies continue to investigate active shooter incident at building 32 (Stata). Please stay indoors and away from Building 32 (Stata) and surrounding area."
http://www.wickedlocal.com/cambridge/news/x1148864964/MIT-police-officer-shot-in-Cambridge-suffering-life-threatening-injuries#axzz2QsrLlhYG
One has to wonder if the bombings in Boston and the police officer's murder are related.  Would it shock anyone that the bomber(s) were college educated?

Private Citizens 1 Federal Government 0

From the LVRJ: Antonio Tucker’s family waited 10 months for closure.
Steve Schafer delivered it in less than two days.
The local dive instructor led the team that found the missing airman’s remains at the bottom of Lake Mead on Tuesday.
The search was launched Monday morning despite windy conditions. By Wednesday, Tucker’s body had been brought up from the dark, 280 feet down, to begin its journey back to his loved ones.
“It took less than four or five hours of actual search time,” said Schafer. “The biggest thing is to bring Antonio home. That’s what it’s all about.”
The Clark County coroner’s office positively identified Tucker’s body on Thursday. The 28-year-old staff sergeant stationed at Creech Air Force Base in Indian Springs is believed to have drowned, but the cause of his death has not yet been released....
Tucker was at the lake with a woman and a child on June 23 when he went under while trying to swim back to their boat in heavy winds.
As the National Park Service-led search dragged on, Schafer contacted the park to offer his help free of charge.
Schafer owns Earth Resource Group, a local environmental consulting firm with a marine division specializing in underwater survey and recovery work. He is also a dive instructor for dive instructors, with 20 years of experience exploring the deepest parts of Lake Mead.
After about a week of waiting for an answer, Schafer was told that the Park Service had all of the help it needed.
Vanover detailed that initial search effort Thursday, noting that the Park Service and three other federal and state agencies spent four days looking for Tucker over 11 square nautical miles.
When they couldn’t find his body using sonar and remote operated underwater vehicles, she said, “the decision was made to wait for the body to surface naturally, which is a process that occurs with the majority of unrecovered drowning victims.”
Vanover added that Lake Mead park rangers have conducted more than 200 search and rescues in the past three years, and Tucker was the only known missing person who hadn’t been recovered....
About a month after Tucker disappeared, Schafer tried to get information and approval to search for another drowning victim who went missing in Lake Mead in 2004. This time, he couldn’t get anyone at the park to answer his emails, so he hired a lawyer, filed a request for public documents and, earlier this year, applied for a special-use permit to search for Tucker on the family’s behalf.
Late last month, the Park Service finally cleared him for a search beginning Monday and lasting through April 26, excluding weekends.
Asked if he felt vindicated, Schafer said, “It proves the point. That would be an understatement I think.”...
As for Schafer’s team, Vanover said, “We should be able to utilize their services much more rapidly, if they express interest in supporting future search efforts.”
Schafer certainly hopes so.
“We’re absolutely on the table to help when we can. And certainly here at Lake Mead, we don’t want a dime — not for gas money or park entrance fees or anything else,” he said. “Whether they’ll pick up the phone or accept our help if we call, that remains to be seen.”  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/military/body-recovered-lake-mead-confirmed-missing-airman
The BLM ought to be ashamed of themselves and owe Airman's Tucker's family an apology.
Schafer has ben trying for months to get the BLM off their high horses and allow him to search for Tucker.
But the BLM refused because they had such huge egos and it prolonger the agony of the Tucker family.
Heads need to roll because of this case was a case of the BLM in Las Vegas having such a big ego and in the end, they were proved wrong.

Why Just The Boston Bombings?

From the White House:
HONORING THE VICTIMS OF THE TRAGEDY IN BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
- - - - - - -
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on April 15, 2013, in Boston, Massachusetts, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, April 20, 2013. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.  http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2013/04/16/presidential-proclamation-honoring-victims-tragedy-boston-Massachusetts
The bombings did not occur on Federal land.
There have been numerous fires, shootings and other violence that have killed more than 3 people.
Why haven't these incident's merited Obama's intervention and had flags flown at half staff?
We have had many soldiers and a diplomat die in the past several weeks and no flags ordered at half staff.
Why?
One thing I have noticed is that the media is going ga ga and drooling over Obama and the bombings.  They are telling us how he is engaged in the issue, how he is leading the investigation and trying to show us he is a leader while making very stupid speeches on the subject.
I suspect the vast majority of Americans would rather we catch the thug(s) that did this than listen to Obama. But Obama is trying to make this about him.  So far, the investigation and Obama has been a failure.
It will be interesting to see if Obama issues a proclamation regarding the Texas tragedy when dozens of people may have died and hundreds injured.
So, why Boston and not other incidents where more people have died?

Who Is The Biggest Loser with All The Tragedy?

Bombing in Boston.
Huge fire with a large amount injuries and deaths.
Gun control going up in flames.
Margaret Thatcher funeral.
Aside form the dead and injured, who is the biggest loser?
North Korea and it's fearless leader, Kim Jong Eun.
Who is talking about them now?
Does anybody care about them?
Nope.

Another Reason Why Defense Lawyers Are Scum

Defense lawyers have a job to do- represent the most vile people in the United States.  However, there are some lawyers who are so depraved, they have to be mentally ill or monsters, like the thugs they represent.
From Madison.com: A badly burned young mother sat in a wheelchair with tears flooding her eyes Wednesday in a Lafayette County courtroom as she watched her husband receive the maximum allowable punishment for intentionally killing their three young sons in a house fire.
They were tears of satisfaction from Sharon Wand of Argyle, who said she felt justice was served when Armin Wand III received three consecutive life sentences with no hope of parole from Green County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Vale....
There were many emotional moments during the sentencing hearing, including chilling details from prosecutor Roy Korte, who said Wand, 33, intentionally set fire to his rented house last Sept. 7 so he could kill his young children and pregnant wife, collect money from their insurance policies and start a new life.
The fire killed Allen Wand, 7; Jeffery Wand, 5; and Joseph Wand, 3; and left Sharon Wand, 27, in critical condition for several months. The couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Jessica, was the lone sibling to survive despite Armin Wand’s efforts to put her back in the fire after her mother saved her, according to Korte.
Wand pleaded guilty in February to three intentional homicide charges, one attempted intentional homicide charge, an arson charge and, as part of a pre-trial agreement, reduced charges for the attempts on Jessica’s life and the death of the fetus....
As Korte argued for Wand to receive the toughest penalties allowed by law, he said the pre-sentence investigation showed that Wand was a psychopath who has never shown remorse for killing his children. He described Wand as calculating, selfish and unhappy with his life and that he spent great time and effort planning to kill his family for money.
Korte described how Wand and his 18-year-old brother, Jeremy Wand — who is scheduled for trial on similar charges in July — stood and watched as Sharon tried to save her children as her clothes burned off her.
Sharon Wand ran out of the burning house with Jessica and handed her to Armin Wand and planned to go back to save the boys who were screaming for help, Korte said. But Armin told her to move their minivan so it wouldn’t burn and Sharon did as commanded. That’s when Armin Wand tried to put Jessica back in the fire, only to be spotted by a neighbor.
http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/crime_and_courts/update-armin-wand-iii-sentenced-to-three-consecutive-life-sentences/article_f5125f18-9c24-5e35-ac76-b476eaae8b78.html
This was a totally heinous creime where the father killed three of his sons and tried to kill his wife and daughter.  His daughter was out of the fire when this thug tried to shove her back inside.
So, with all the facts agreed to, what punishment did the defense attorney ask?
Wand’s attorney, Jason Daane, argued for parole and cited Wand’s low IQ and rough upbringing with an alcoholic, abusive father. He asked Vale to consider Wand for all he is: the good, bad, damaged and limited.
Seriously, parole for this thug?  Why?
And the understatement of the day:
Wand’s lead attorney, Guy Taylor, said Wand will be sent to the Dodge County Correctional Institute for evaluation and then expects him to head to one of the state’s maximum security prisons. Taylor said he was concerned for Wand’s safety no matter where he ends up.
“He’s a very vulnerable individual,” Taylor said.
Oh yeah, he will be targeted when he shows to prison.  The over/under on how long he lives in prison, I would put at 2 years.

If You Go To A Pharmacy, Look Out

Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni portrays Satan in History Channel's documentary The Bible.
Barry "Satan" Obama
I will be writing more about this later, but if you regularly use a pharmacy to fill prescriptions, this will apply to you, eventually.
This is happening in Las Vegas now.
If you fill a prescription, especially for pain medication, you are only allowed to use 1 pharmacy.  Not 1 pharmacy chain, just 1 pharmacy.
And if your pharmacy is out of your medication, too bad, you will not be able to go to another pharmacy that has your medication- you will have to suffer until your pharmacy decides it wants to fill you prescription.
This is not the result of ObamaCare but the result of the Drug Enforcement Agency and their Hitler like directives.
The DEA is now telling what pharmacy you can use and what prescriptions you can fill.  The DEA is overruling your doctor and the medicine he or she may prescribe.
In Las Vegas, numerous people who need pain doctors for pain because of cancer, broken bones, surgery, nerve problems, arthritis and other painful afflictions are going out their pain medications because of the DEA, Department of Justice and Obama because the Fed's are limiting access to the much needed pain medication.
Some of these patients will go through withdrawals.
Some of these patients may commit suicide because their pain is unbearable.
Some of these patients may resort to buying drugs off the streets, making law abiding citizens into felons.
Some patients may resort to violence and rob pharmacies or go after people who have decided that they know more about pain relief than the patients and their doctors.
It is my sincerest hope that President Obama and Eric Holder, the head of the DEA and the DEA agents all go out golfing, get hit by lightening, suffer severe burns and broken bones, suffer migraines and receive a broken back with their nerves stripped raw so that they feel every little bit of pain their injuries give them.
Then I would love to have them operate under the same circumstances those of us in Las Vegas have t endure and they don't receive their medication and they suffer their own little hell because of their medication policies.  I hope they suffer have to suffer like they are in hell.

An Author Of ObamaCare Sees Train Wreck A Coming

From the Havre Daily News: A senior Democratic senator who helped write President Barack Obama's health care law stunned administration officials Wednesday, saying openly he thinks it's headed for a "train wreck" because of bumbling implementation.
"I just see a huge train wreck coming down," Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., told Obama's health care chief during a routine budget hearing that suddenly turned tense.
Baucus is the first top Democrat to publicly voice fears about the rollout of the new health care law, designed to bring coverage to some 30 million uninsured people through a mix of government programs and tax credits for private insurance. Polls show that Americans remain confused by the complex law, and even many uninsured people are skeptical they will be helped by benefits that start next year.
A six-term veteran, Baucus expects a tough re-election in 2014. He's still trying to recover from approval ratings that nosedived amid displeasure with the health care law in his home state.
Normally low-key and supportive, Baucus challenged Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at Wednesday's hearing.
He said he's "very concerned" that new health insurance marketplaces for consumers and small businesses will not open on time in every state, and that if they do, they might just flop because residents don't have the information they need to make choices.
"The administration's public information campaign on the benefits of the Affordable Care Act deserves a failing grade," he told Sebelius. "You need to fix this."
Responding to Baucus, Sebelius pointedly noted that Republicans in Congress last year blocked funding for carrying out the health care law, and she had to resort to raiding other legally available departmental funds.
The administration is asking for $1.5 billion in next year's budget, and Republicans don't seem willing to grant that, either.
At one point, as Sebelius tried to answer Baucus' demand for facts and figures, the senator admonished: "You haven't given me any data; you just give me concepts, frankly."
"I don't know what he's looking at," Sebelius told reporters following her out of the room after Baucus adjourned the hearing. "But we are on track to fully implement marketplaces in Jan. 2014, and to be open for open enrollment."  http://www.havredailynews.com/cms/news/baucusseestrainwreckforhealthlawrollout.html
Of course, Baucus says this now, after he helped write the bill and voted for it several times.

Too Bad, Too Sad,Obama

This is what you get when you make the issue about yourself.
From Politico: Never before had President Barack Obama put the moral force and political muscle of his presidency behind an issue quite this big — and lost quite this badly.
The president, shaken to the core by the massacre of 26 innocents at Sandy Hook Elementary School, broke his own informal “Obama Rule” — of never leaning into an issue without a clear path to victory — first by pushing for a massive gun control package no one expected to pass, and then sticking through it even as he retrenched to a relatively modest bipartisan bill mandating national background checks on gun purchases.
It was a bitter defeat for a president accustomed to winning, a second-term downer that may — or may not — foreshadow the slow decline suffered by so many of his predecessors. Obama seems to have the public behind him, but it illustrated his less-than-Johnsonian powers of personal persuasion, the possible shortcomings of his decision to wait a month after the killings to present a plan and above all the limits of his go-to “outside” strategy of taking his case directly to the American people.
More than anything, it was an emotional blow to Obama, who was as irritated at the four members of his own party as he was at the 90 percent of Republicans who defeated the bill.
One administration official told POLITICO the White House was especially disappointed with Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D), the only dissenting Democrat not up for re-election next year, who refused to go along with the bill even after White House chief of staff Denis McDonough visited her office to make Obama’s case on Tuesday.

Obama made this issue about him.  by using the Sandy Hook parents in the most disgusting way, by going out campaigning instead of engaging in a discussion and by believing that because he won re-election, he could do whatever he wants. (Disregarding the elections of the House of Representatives)
Hopefully, this will give Obama a little slap in the face of reality.

Disaster In Texas

From CBS- Dallas Fort Worth: A fertilizer plant explosion in the town of West, north of Waco, has killed as many as 70 people and injured hundreds.  However, no official numbers have been released.
Meanwhile, the residents of the town of 2,700 are being asked to evacuate due to ammonia fumes after the explosion of West Fertilizer. The plant is located at 1471 Jerry Mashek Drive, just off Interstate-35.  School buses and ambulances are being used to evacuate residents from the area.
Firefighters had been called to the plant to battle a small fire around 7 p.m. Crews were working to bring the blaze under control when the explosion happened around 7:50 p.m.  Officials have said firefighters are among the missing.
Emergency crews from central and north Texas have been called in to help respond to the injuries and destruction from the explosion. Into the early morning hours Thursday the plant was still smoldering and active ingredients were still inside. The situation is still too volatile to have firefighters try and battle any flames.
Trooper D.L. Wilson of the Texas Department of Public Safety estimates that as many as 75 homes were severely damaged and an apartment complex with 50 units was gutted by the blast. West EMS Director Dr. George Smith said, ““We’ve got a lot of houses on one street especially there that look like a war zone. They’ve been collapsed, so there may be people inside those houses, either critically injured or deceased.

Prayers to the first responders and their families and to the workers who have died or were injured.
This sounds like a disaster of epic proportions.

RIP Pat Summerall

Another sporting voice silenced today.
From jsonline: Pat Summerall was the calm alongside John Madden's storm.
Over four decades, Summerall described some of the biggest games in America in his deep, resonant voice. Simple, spare, he delivered the details on 16 Super Bowls, the Masters and the U.S. Open tennis tournament with a simple, understated style that was the perfect complement for the "booms!" and "bangs!" of Madden, his football partner for the last half of the NFL player-turned-broadcaster's career.
Summerall died Tuesday at age 82 of cardiac arrest, said University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center spokesman Jeff Carlton, speaking on behalf of Summerall's wife, Cheri.
"Pat was my broadcasting partner for a long time, but more than that he was my friend for all of these years," Madden said in a statement. "Pat Summerall is the voice of football and always will be."
His final play-by-play words beside Madden were succinct, of course, as he called the game-ending field goal of the Super Bowl for Fox on Feb. 3, 2002, when New England beat St. Louis 20-17.
"It's right down the pipe. Adam Vinatieri. No time on the clock. And the Patriots have won Super Bowl XXXVI. Unbelievable," Summerall said.
Sparse, exciting, perfect. A flawless summation without distracting from the reaction viewers could see on the screen.
At the end of their final broadcast together, Madden described Summerall as "a treasure" and the "spirit of the National Football League" in a tribute to the partner that complemented the boisterous former Oakland Raiders coach so well.
As former teammate and broadcaster Frank Gifford put it in an accompanying video tribute: "America is very comfortable with Pat Summerall."
Summerall played 10 NFL seasons from 1952 to 1961 with the Chicago Cardinals and New York Giants, but it was in his second career that he became a voice familiar to generations of sports fans, not only those of the NFL.
"Pat was a friend of nearly 40 years," CBS Sports broadcaster Verne Lundquist said. "He was a master of restraint in his commentary, an example for all of us. He was also one of the great storytellers who ever spoke into a microphone."  http://www.jsonline.com/sports/national/super-voice-gone-pat-summerall-dead-at-82c83a2c69e59c48aeace1871744e5c101-203281931.html
I remember watching him broadcast Green Bay Packer games and he was such a force on the TV that at times, you were paying attention to him instead of  the game.

Hey, Heller Has A Backbone After All

From the LVRJ: Nevada Sen. Dean Heller will vote against the Manchin-Toomey amendment on gun control, his office announced Tuesday afternoon.
The announcement potentially seriously complicates Sen. Harry Reid’s efforts to get 60 senators to vote for what many have surmised is the best chance the Senate has to approve expanded background checks, an idea recent polls show has wide support — almost 90 percent — in the general populace.
“I believe very strongly that our current background check system needs strengthening and improving, particularly in areas that could keep guns out of the hands of felons and the mentally ill,” Heller said in his announcement. “At the same time, I cannot support legislation that infringes upon the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.”
Last week, Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Republican Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania struck a deal that would require background checks for all public sales of guns, but exempt private sales between friends and acquaintances. The change would close loopholes in the background checks law, such as that that exists for gun shows, where gun purchasers are not subjected to background checks before they are allowed to purchase firearms.
The compromise seemed to have a better chance of securing votes than the underlying Senate bill, which would have required background checks for inter-family firearm sales as well. Several Democrats — including Manchin — had said they could not vote for the underlying bill, absent the Manchin-Toomey amendment.

Last week, I had concerns about Heller being squishy about this bill and others, like the immigration bill.
So, thanks Sen. Heller for growing a backbone.

Reid Investigated By FBI

From the LVRJ: Federal prosecutors have disclosed a 2008 FBI investigation of indicted Nevada power broker Harvey Whittemore and his longtime friend, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid.
The investigation, conducted by the FBI’s Washington field office, was sparked by media reports about Reid’s role in helping Whittemore’s Coyote Springs master planned community north of Las Vegas clear of government hurdles. It did not result in criminal charges against either man.
Whittemore’s defense lawyers want a federal judge to allow testimony about the investigation at his federal trial next month on charges of unlawfully funneling $138,000 in campaign contributions to Reid in 2007. Prosecutors have said the Nevada Democrat was unaware of the alleged scheme.
Defense lawyers, led by Dominic Gentile and Vincent Savarese, argued in court papers filed this week that the 2008 investigation shows Whittemore had no criminal intent to make illegal campaign contributions.
Whittemore, 59, was once a top Nevada legislative lobbyist. He was indicted last June on four felony charges, including making excessive contributions and lying to the FBI and the Federal Election Commission. His trial is set for May 14 before Senior U.S. District Judge Larry Hicks in Reno.
The indictment alleges Whittemore met with Reid in February 2007 and agreed to raise $150,000 for him by a March 31 campaign finance deal
http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/crime-courts/fbi-investigated-reid-along-whittemore-2008
I wonder how many other times Reid has been investigated by Federal authorities?
I wonder how many times old senile, pathetic, cowardly Harry Reid should have been investigated.

You Don't Say

Has The Obama Administration caught the thugs who killed our Ambassador in Libya?
Has the Obama Administration put on trial the thug who killed all those people at Fort Hood?
And now the trail is already cold in the Boston bombings.
And here is what Obama says:
Obama Benghazi Statement: “And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.”
Obama Boston Statement: “But make no mistake, we will get to the bottom of this. And we will find out who did this; we’ll find out why they did this
Obama is just another empty suit.

Let Them Come And Get It

From the San Fran Chronicle: A small boat that washed up in Northern California after the massive 2011 tsunami that hit Japan has been claimed by a city that was devastated in the disaster.
The Triplicate (http://bit.ly/10XL5VE ) newspaper in Crescent City reports that officials in the Japanese city of Rikuzentakata are in a "giddy state of shock" and would love to get the boat back.
Rikuzentakata spokeswoman Amya Miller says hours after photos of the 20-foot boat were posted to Crescent City's Facebook page, a teacher from the Japanese high school's marine sciences program said the vessel was theirs.
Read more: http://www.sfgate.com/news/us/article/Japan-wants-tsunami-boat-back-from-N-California-4435691.php#ixzz2Qc2Sofxf
If they want this POS boat back, then let them come over and retrieve it and pay for it's return.

So, Who Did It?

So, who set off the bombs in Boston yesterday afternoon?
There is a short list.
Al Qaeda is on the top of the list.  It's a high profile event and the cops are holding a 20 year old Saudi man as a "witness".
North Korea could have hired someone to do this.  After all, they promised something big on April 15th and it would be an attack on the U.S.. Not quite a nuclear blast, but still quite damaging.
Name any Muslim terrorist group.  They hate the United States, despite our Muslim president.
When this bombing first took place the media kept on saying that this was a home grown terrorist.  I highly doubt it.  If it was a white supremacy group, they would have targeted the first place winners, who were mostly black.  At the 4 hour mark of the race, most of the runners were white, so why would they take them out?
Someone pissed at the people who run the marathon?  Would they set 5 bombs?
Or maybe the government did it, from Salon:
While most observers are witholding judgment about what caused the two explosions at the Boston Marathon this afternoon, right-wing conspiracy theorists already know what’s going on — the government did it and is going to pin the blame on them because today is Patriots’ Day, a special day in the militia movement.
Alex Jones, who has become the country’s preeminent conspiracy theorist, wasted no time. As with 9/11, Sandy Hook and other national tragedies, he sees the Boston explosions as a “false flag” attack committed by the government. The objective this time: Expanding the Transportation Security Administration’s reach to sporting events:

 http://www.salon.com/2013/04/15/alex_jones_labels_boston_explosion_a_false_flag/
My guess is that a Muslim terrorist did this and if not, then the North Koreans.
Of course, Obama, when he gave his horrible speech, did not mention terrorism.  He had to have his flunkeys in the White House to mention terrorism.

Pawn Stars UnReview: April 15, 2013

Once again, the History Channel is not showing any Pawn Stars tonight and pretty much the whole week, this week.
Not sure why the History Channel is doing this- are they trying to see who has the bigger audience to pair with Pawn Stars?
Are they doing this because they are thinking of a change in their line up and putting Pawn stars on a different night?
Or are they doing it to keep paying rerun fees to the guys on the show?
Whatever it is, it makes for an easy day for me.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week

Lawman, Not White Supremist Responsible For Texas DA's

From the New York Daily News: A former Texas court official will reportedly be charged with the brutal slayings of a Texas district attorney, that official’s wife, and an assistant district attorney.
Forty-six-year-old Eric Williams was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on Saturday after police searched his home. The ex-justice of the peace has been charged with emailing “terroristic threats” to county employees. Although murder charges have not yet been made, sources told CBS 11 that Williams is a prime suspect in the shooting deaths of District Attorney Mike McLelland; his wife, Cynthia McLelland; and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse.
Williams is being held on a $3 million bond.

The media was all a flutter that white supremacists groups were responsible for the deaths of the DA, is wife and another assistant DA.
And now, it turns out, they may not have been.  Just a crazy former judge who did the crime and not a wild eyed right wing conservative.

UNLV Graduate s Master's Champ

From the Las Vegas Sun: Adam Scott finished the job this time, and put an end to more than a half-century of Australian misery at the Masters.
With the two biggest putts of his career, the former UNLV golfer holed a 20-footer for birdie on the 18th hole of regulation that put him into a playoff with Angel Cabrera, and then won his first major championship Sunday with a 12-footer for birdie on the second extra hole.
“We like to think we’re the best at everything. Golf is a big sport at home, and this is the one thing in golf we hadn’t been able to achieve,” said Scott, who golfed one season at UNLV in the late 1990s. “It’s amazing that it’s my destiny to be the first Australian to win. It’s incredible.”
Scott leaned back and thrust his arms in the air after the putt dropped on the 10th hole, a celebration for all of Australia and personal redemption for himself. Also, he became the first UNLV golfer to win a major tournament championship.

It's good to see a UNLV grad do good.
And another major and another Tiger choke.
I still say Woods will not come close to Jack Nicklaus's record of major's won.  He may win 1 more major but that's about it for Woods.

What Would You Do?

At a high school I am familiar with, they had a contest in which a qualifying student would win a Quinceañera.
A Quinceañera is: Today's ceremonies embrace religious traditions, and the virtues of family and social responsibility. The custom is a celebration of the young girl (la Quinceanera), and a recognition of her journey from childhood to maturity. The celebration highlights God, family, friends, music, food, and dance.
In the Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central and South American traditions, the custom can be referred to as a Quince (XV) Años, a Quinces, or a Quinceanera. The celebration traditionally begins with a religious ceremony. A reception is held in the home or a banquet hall. The festivities include food and music, and in most, a choreographed waltz or dance performed by the Quinceanera and her court. The Quinceanera's court can be comprised of young girls (called a Dama), young men (called Chambelán or Escorte or Galán) or a combination of both - traditionally up to 14 persons in the court, which with the Quinceanera, would total 15 young people. The Quinceanera traditionally wears a ball gown, with her court usually dressed in gowns and tuxedos. Guests usually receive small tokens, cápias and cerámicas, to commemorate the celebration. It is customary for the Quinceanera to receive the following gifts for her ceremony: tiara
bracelet or ring
earrings
cross or medal or necklace
Bible or Prayer Book and Rosary

http://www.latinamericanstudies.org/latinos/quince-traditions.htm
But because this is a high school, the religious part is taken out and a more traditional party is offered.
At this school, they took the qualified students and put their names in a box and started pulling names.  One by one, the students did not show up.  Then a name was called and the student was there.  The student who won the Quinceanera is severely disabled student with a mental age of 3.
The student is unable to read, write, is non-verbal, count to two, participate in group activities and can pee or poop in his pants.
The student has no clue what a Quinceañera is, in fact the student was happy that he got a balloon as the prize. Of course, he then popped the balloon and had more fun.
It also should be noted the student is 18 years old and is a male, both of which goes against the tradition of a Quinceañera.
So, if you were the parent of the severely disabled student, would you:
1.  Accept the prize and celebrate with the family and their friends.
2.  Accept the prize and have the party with his classmates.
3.  Accept a downsized prize and allow another student who has a concept of what a  Quinceañera is, to have the Quinceañera.
4.  Decline the prize and have a redrawing.
Personally, if I was the parent, I would chose #3,accept a downsized award and celebrate with my classmates and give the full size award to a student who would appreciate a Quinceañera and was not able to afford it.
What would you do?

More Reasons To Oppose Immigration Reform

It looks like Harry Reid, the Gang of 8 and their ilk are going to ram down the throats of Senators and U.S. citizens the immigration reform bill.
Apparently, there is only going to be 1 hearing, at 2:30 in the afternoon, with only 1 witness.  Harry Reid and the Gang of 8's bill is 1500 pages long and probably growing.
Can you say ObamaCare part Deux?
From Jeremy Beck: On April 11, the New York Times reported that the Senate immigration bill to grant work permits and legal status to illegal aliens "would exclude any immigrants who arrived in the country after Dec. 31, 2011."
There is no word yet on what the Gang of 8 proposes to do with people who illegally crossed the border after that date, or with the people who arrived legally but violated the terms of their visa on or after that date. The bill is expected to drop on April 16 (which will give Senators approximately 24 hours to review the 1,000+ pages before the one and only Senate hearing on the legislation), but early outlines have made no mention of improving interior enforcement to detect and remove unauthorized aliens. Nor have there been any reports of the Senate bill ending the "prosecutorial discretion" policy wherein ICE agents are ordered to release illegal aliens who do not meet the administration's top criminal priorities. https://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/beckj/april-12-2013/amnesty-8-sets-amnesty-9.html
And then there's this from NumbersUSA:
Section 212 of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that legal immigrants demonstrate that they won't be a public charge before they're granted entry into the United States. However, according to Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) the bill being drafted by the Gang of Eight that will offer instant legal status and work permits to the 11-19 million illegal aliens living in the country won't subject amnestied illegal aliens to the public charge rule, which could cost taxpayers trillions of dollars.
Most welfare programs require the recipient to be a green card holder or a U.S. citizen, so illegal aliens that receive an amnesty won't be eiligible for certain programs. But they will be eligibile for Social Security if they've legally worked the required 40 quarters to receive the benefit and they'll be eligibile for beneifts under the Affordable Care Act.
Once they receive a green card, however, which the Gang of Eight's proposal will grant after a certain period of time, illegal aliens would become eligible to receive all forms of welfare. According to a statement released by Sen. Sessions office earlier this week, "once this status ends and they become eligible for green cards, those who illegally immigrated will have access to a wide array of public assistance programs. Green card holders are currently eligible for Medicaid, TANF, Supplemental Security Income, child care assistance, food stamps, and a variety of other welfare benefits and public aid programs. The Budget Committee Republican staff estimates that costs could be upwards of $40 billion in 2022 alone, just for Medicaid and Obamacare."  https://www.numbersusa.com/content/news/april-5-2013/flaw-gang-eights-plan-could-cost-taxpayers-trillions.html
And Beck concludes this: But let's assume that the anti-enforcement lobby surprises everyone, lays down their arms, and accepts E-Verify in five years. By that time, the illegal aliens excluded from the Gang of Eight bill will have been in the U.S. for five to seven years, which is plenty of time to "put down roots," "work hard," "become 'American' in all but documentation" and all of the other bromides used to justify turning a blind eye to illegal immigration. Is there any doubt that the same anti-enforcement lobbies won't be calling on the Gang of Eight to fix our "broken" immigration system all over again?
In their attempt to pass amnesty number eight, the Gang of 8 and the lobbyists writing their bill have constructed a perfect path to amnesty number nine.

More Global Warming Up North

5 states have winter weather warnings, from Idaho to Wisconsin.

What's Up With Brad Keslowski?

From Jayski's: Keselowski lashes out at NASCAR: #2-Brad Keselowski lashed out at NASCAR officials after Saturday's race at Texas Motor Speedway because of NASCAR inspectors forcing his team to change the rear-end housing in the #2 Ford before the race. Both cars for Penske Racing, including teammate #22-Joey Logano, had to make the change moments before the race. Logano barely made it out in time for the green flag. Logano started in the back, but finished fifth. Keselowski finished ninth. "I have one good thing to say," Keselowski said. "That's my team and effort they put in today in fighting back with the absolute bull that's been the last seven days in this garage area. The things I've seen over the last seven days have me questioning everything that I believe in, and I'm not happy about it. I don't have anything positive to say and I probably should just leave it at that."
But he didn't. Knowing major penalties are likely for his team, the defending Sprint Cup champion made his feelings clear. "There's so much stuff going on ... you have no f------ idea what's going on,'' he said. "And that's not your fault and that's not a slam on you. I could tell you there's nobody, no team in this garage with the integrity of the 2 team. And the way we've been treated over the last seven days is absolutely shameful. I feel like we've been targeted over the last seven days more than I've ever seen a team targeted. But my guys kept their heads on straight and they showcased why they are a winning team and championship team. We're not going to take it. We're not going to be treated this way."(see more at
ESPN.com)(4-14-2013)
And
NASCAR takes parts from both Penske cars UPDATE: Sprint Cup champion #2-Brad Keselowski, teammate #22-Joey Logano and their Penske Racing teams face potential penalties as NASCAR confiscated rear-end housing parts and pieces from their cars during prerace inspection Saturday at Texas Motor Speedways. The teams frantically worked to replace the pieces an hour prior to the scheduled start of the NRA 500. "We're taking (rear-end) housing and some other things. & It's a group of pieces that surrounds the rear suspension area," NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton said. "It's just something that is not in the spirit of the rules." Pemberton said the sanctioning body would not eject the crew chiefs from the speedways and the drivers would keep their starting positions for the race Saturday night. Any penalties could be announced as early as Monday, although NASCAR typically waits until Tuesday to announce penalties. Possible penalties typically could include points penalties, fines and crew suspensions. (Sporting News)(4-13-2013)

I don't know if this a holdover from last week when an official called Keslowski out of the box last week and could have been a mistake.
But it will be interesting to see what is going on.

Apple Doesn't Fall To Far From The Tree

From the Houston Chronicle:  Hey, Robin Prince, write your mother. She's aching to hear from you.
The only time Prince writes, his mother says, is when he's in a jam. Now he's in the biggest jam of his life. Late last month, a Houston jury sentenced him to 50 years in prison for fatally slashing his former girlfriend's throat.
Carolyn Bailey isn't expecting good news from her son, nor is she looking for a letter's speedy arrival. She has time to wait. At 56, she is serving a 50-year state prison in Gatesville for fatally smashing her ex-boyfriend's head with a 40-pound concrete block.
Prince's conviction for the September 2009 murder of Christina Lewis, a 30-year-old mother of three, was the low point in a life of crime. In his 40 years, Prince has been convicted of more than 20 offenses and sentenced to almost eight years in state prison.
For Bailey, word of her son's conviction was just more bad news for a family afflicted by hard times and untimely ends. Bailey, who was convicted in the June 2000 murder of Curtis Maserang, says she was only 3 when a relative killed her father. One of Prince's siblings, she adds, died of a heroin overdose.  http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Like-mother-like-son-Mom-son-serve-50-years-for-4432677.php
Family of the year award winners?  Nope, unless the Manson family is the only family competing against them.

No To Senate Immigration Bill

From the Chicago Tribune: The U.S. admits about 1 million legal immigrants per year, more than any other country. That number could jump by more than 50% over the next decade under the terms of the immigration reform bill that a bipartisan group of senators expects to unveil as early as Tuesday. The impact would be felt nationwide, but areas that already have large immigrant communities would probably see much of the increase.
The immigration package includes at least four major provisions that would increase the number of legal immigrants, according to people familiar with it. Some of the parts could generate as much controversy as the provisions dealing with those who enter the country illegally or overstay their visas, according to those with long experience of the politics of immigration.
Supporters say that higher levels of legal immigration would meet the U.S. need for certain kinds of workers. Increased legal migration also would reduce most of the incentive for illegal border crossings, backers of the plan say, and would allow border agents to focus on smugglers and people with violent criminal records.
Opponents such as Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), who has long opposed measures to increase immigration levels, say new workers would depress wages and crowd out Americans looking for work during a time of persistently high unemployment.
"The masters of the universe in glass towers and suites, they may not be impacted by this, but millions of struggling American families will," Sessions said in an interview Friday. "We do need to be sure we aren't exacerbating unemployment and wage erosion in America."
The surge would come in several ways: The bill aims to eliminate the current backlog of roughly 4 million people waiting to be reunited with family members in the U.S. The 11 million now in the country without legal authorization would be eligible for citizenship only after that backlog was resolved. Reunification efforts would require boosting the number of visas issued each year. To keep the additional inflow under control, the bill would stop allowing adult siblings of immigrants to qualify, but children and parents would continue to be eligible.
In addition to family unification, which allows people into the country permanently, the bill also aims to increase temporary visas for both high-wage and low-wage workers. The number of visas for high-tech workers could nearly double to more than 120,000 per year. At the other end of the wage scale, a new visa system would allow businesses to bring in workers for jobs including janitors, housekeepers and meatpackers. The numbers would start small, but as the unemployment rate declined, it could reach 200,000 a year by the end of the decade. And growers could bring a total of about 330,000 new farmworkers into the country during the decade. At least some of those low-wage temporary workers eventually would be allowed to seek permanent residency.  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/la-na-legal-immigration-20130414,0,7889750.story
As far as I am concerned, we need to arrest all illegals who break the laws and deport in the following order:
1. Criminals, including those arrested for minor misdemeanor's.
2.  Anyone who seeks free health care.  Stabilize them and then send them back to their country of origin via a medevac plane.
3.  Any illegal who applies for any kind of welfare or government assistance.  Why should taxpayers support those who are here illegally?
4.  Any illegal who is taking a job away from an American.
And finally, highly penalize any employer that hires illegals.
If illegals choose to stay, they have to prove themselves worthy of being here, like regular immigrants who do it legally.
You do this and you will have very little illegal immigrant problem.  Most will either obey our laws or leave.

Guess Where We Were Tonight

The family went to the Clark County fair in Logandale tonight.  Logandale, located about 60 miles north of Las Vegas on I-15.
The Fair, like most fairs, had a carnival, music, animals, rodeo and other entertainment.
While it was a Clark County fair, we had exhibits from Pahrump and Alamo, outside of Clark County and we also had exhibits from Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.
The one thing missing was the fresh bakery for judging, like pies and cakes.
But the fair was bigger than most county fairs I have been to in Wisconsin and other cities but obviously smaller than a state fair, which Nevada does not have one.
The Fair is open on Sunday, for it's last day of the season.
And A celebrity was there, a whining, demanding swine, just like Kim

Classy Liberals

From the LVRJ:  Hundreds of opponents of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher partied in London’s Trafalgar Square to celebrate her death, sipping Champagne and chanting “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead.”
Thatcher’s most strident critics had long vowed to hold a gathering in central London on the Saturday following her passing, and the festivities were an indication of the depth of the hatred which some Britons still feel for their former leader.
“We’ve been waiting a long time for this,” Richard Watson, a 45-year-old from eastern England wearing a party hat, said. “It’s an opportunity of a lifetime.”
As a huge effigy of Thatcher — complete with hook nose and handbag — made its way down the stairs in front of the National Gallery, the crowd erupted into cries of “Maggie! Maggie! Maggie! Dead! Dead! Dead!” and sang lyrics from the “Wizard of Oz” ditty “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead.”  http://www.reviewjournal.com/buzzworthy/hundreds-gather-anti-thatcher-party-londons-trafalgar-square
If Obama should be killed tonight by his mistress, I would not out and and party.
If Bill or Hillary Clinton were to be attacked by an angry prostitute and killed, I would not sing "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead".
Once again, this shows that liberalism is a mental illness.

But, I Thought It Was Supposed To Close 4 Years Ago?

From Fox News: Guards and prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay prison clashed Saturday as the military attempted to move hunger strikers out of a communal section of the detention center on the U.S. base in Cuba, officials said.
The violence erupted during an early morning raid that military officials said was necessary because prisoners had covered up security cameras and windows as part of a weekslong protest and hunger strike over their indefinite confinement and conditions at the U.S. base in Cuba.
Prisoners fought guards with makeshift weapons that included broomsticks and mop handles when troops arrived to move them out of a communal wing of the section of the prison known as Camp 6, said Navy Capt. Robert Durand, a military spokesman. Guards responded by firing four "less-than-lethal rounds," he said.
There were no serious injuries from the rounds, which included a modified shotgun shell that fires small rubber pellets as well as a type of bean-bag projectile, said Army Col. Greg Julian, a spokesman for Miami-based U.S. Southern Command, which oversees the prison at the U.S. base in Cuba.

Maybe if the Obama administration would give these guys military trials instead screwing around and give them some finality, maybe things like this would not happen.  But nope, the Obama administration just keeps screwing around with these guys lives and you have incidents like this.

Seriously?

From World Net Daily: What does the federal hate crimes law inspired by the murders of Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. have to do with an internal dispute among the Amish in which the beards of men and the hair of women were forcibly sheared?
“The scissors used to cut the hair were manufactured in one state and used in another,” explained Edward Bryan, defense lawyer for Amish bishop Samuel Mullet Sr., who was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.
Bryan, in an interview with radio host Michael Savage Thursday night, said the Commerce Clause is one of the federal government’s primary justifications for intervening in the dispute in eastern Ohio among members of the Christian sect.
U.S. Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach, of the Northern District of Ohio, argued in the indictment that the “Wahl battery-operated hair clippers” used in the assaults “were purchased at Walmart and had travelled in and affected interstate commerce in that they were manufactured in Dover, Delaware.”

So, if you buy a product and cross state lines with it and it is used in a crime, you can be prosecuted with a federal crime?
So, if a product is made in New York, shipped to Nevada and may have been used in a crime, the Fed's can prosecute you on an interstate commerce crime?
That is just plain draconian and insane.
And you wonder why people want to take out the federal government and it's agents.
No wonder many people dislike the federal government.
And this time, it's not even Obama's fault.

Stupid Pastor News

The other day, a firefighter was killed in the line of duty when a floor collapsed beneath him and he fell into a burning building.
Yesterday was his funeral and the usual tributes were given to the firefighter, Captain Michael Goodwin, that was, until the pastor officiating the funeral said this:
From Firehouse.com:
Goodwin's outspoken nature was invoked by the Rev. Marjorie Neal, St. Michael's pastor, when she called on Mayor Nutter during her funeral remarks to "do whatever is necessary to provide a contract for our firefighters."
The reference to the city's long-running contractual battle with the firefighters union led the hundreds of firefighters inside and outside the church to erupt in applause.
Nutter said in an emailed statement later in the day: "I have nothing to say about a comment that was so inappropriate at the funeral of our hero, Capt. Michael Goodwin. We love him and we respect him and we will badly miss him."  http://www.firehouse.com/news/10919355/scores-give-philly-captain-final-salute-pastor-calls-for-contract
What a shame that some stupid pastor who apparently had an axe to grind, decided to get political at a firefighter's funeral.  Shameful, even if you agreed with her.
Geez, and she's a blonde also, who would have thought.

I'm Sure The North Koreans Are Shaking In Their Boots

From the Detroit Free Press:  U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry delivered a stark warning Friday to North Korea not to test-fire a midrange missile, while tamping down anxiety caused by a new U.S. intelligence report suggesting significant progress in the communist regime's nuclear weapons program....
"If Kim Jong Un decides to launch a missile, whether it's across the Sea of Japan or some other direction, he will be choosing willfully to ignore the entire international community," Kerry told reporters. "And it will be a provocation and unwanted act that will raise people's temperatures."  http://www.freep.com/article/20130413/NEWS07/304130047/Secretary-of-State-John-Kerry-to-North-Korea-Don-t-test-fire-the-missile
Seriously, raise people's temperatures?
Kerry said the test would be a "huge mistake" for Kim.
And Kerry and the U.S. would do what to stop it?
"It will further isolate his country and further isolate his people who are desperate for food and not missile launches," he warned. "They are desperate for opportunity and not for a leader to flex his muscles."
North Korea is the most isolated country in the world. How are you going to make them more isolated?
"It's up to Kim Jong Un what he decides to do," Kerry said.
No shit, Sherlock.
And Kerry is the best choice for Secretary of State?

Athiests Beware

Another miracle confirmed.
From the Denver Post: The wheels of canonization grind slowly, but a German nun who lived 100 years ago could be named a saint because the Vatican believes a Colorado Springs boy experienced a miracle in 1999.•Mother Theresia Bonzel, who founded the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in Olpe, Germany, in 1863, is scheduled for beatification in November — a step toward sainthood — as a result of the boy's miraculous recovery.•Two Colorado Spring nuns prayed to Bonzel on behalf of 4-year-old Luke Burgie, and the events that followed — over the next 14 years — have been closely scrutinized and investigated by church officials and doctors.
In 1998, Luke had just completed one day of preschool when he fell ill with a severe gastrointestinal condition his doctors couldn't relieve or even diagnose.
He suffered for six months. He experienced violent episodes of diarrhea eight to 10 times a day, Jan Burgie said.
Luke couldn't go to school. He stopped growing, his mother said. He was wasting away. And his doctors were at a complete loss. They began to suspect a tumor in his colon.
"He was the sickest child or person I'd ever been around," Burgie said.
But the test was never conducted because the illness vanished suddenly on Feb. 22, 1999, just as two members of Bonzel's order finished praying a novena. Sister Margaret Mary Preister and the late Sister Evangeline Spenner had just recited a series of prayers over nine straight days asking Mother Bonzel, who died in 1905, to intercede for Luke.
Doctors couldn't explain Luke's sudden recovery, and the Vatican machinery for investigating alleged miracles began to churn.
"We were just an ordinary family — not ultra-holy," Burgie said.
She teaches yoga. Her husband, Mike, is a mechanical engineer.
The family also would be investigated, as Vatican officials and medical personnel would try to ascertain whether the parents had given their child something, such as laxatives, to make him so sick for so long.

If not a miracle, how do you explain it?

Some Newtown Parents Seeking Their 15 Minues Of Fame?

I realize I will be thought of as a jerk, an as**hole, un caring, but it has to be said.
It seems that there are some Newtown, CT. who are seeking their 15 minutes of fame off the backs of their dead children.
They are being treated like royalty by President Obama, including flying on Air Force 1, treated at the White House, taking over Obama's radio spot, being the toast of local and national media etc.
No other family members of crime, especially murder, have gotten treatment even close to what the Newtown families have gotten.
Now, not all the families have gone out of their way to hang around the president and would rather sy what they want to say out of the spotlight.
The families deserve our respect for what has happened to them but some families seem to be enjoying the attention, which is kind of sad and freaky.

RIP Jonathon Winters

From the San Fran Chronicle:
Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87.
The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime friend. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy. Facial contortions, sound effects, tall tales — all could be used in a matter of seconds to get a laugh.
"Jonathan Winters was the worthy custodian of a sparkling and childish comedic genius. He did God's work. I was lucky 2 know him," Carrey tweeted on Friday.
On Jack Paar's television show in 1964, Winters was handed a foot-long stick and he swiftly became a fisherman, violinist, lion tamer, canoeist, U.N. diplomat, bullfighter, flutist, delusional psychiatric patient, British headmaster and Bing Crosby's golf club.
"As a kid, I always wanted to be lots of things," he told U.S. News & World Report in 1988. "I was a Walter Mitty type. I wanted to be in the French Foreign Legion, a detective, a doctor, a test pilot with a scarf, a fisherman who hauled in a tremendous marlin after a 12-hour fight."

If there was someone funnier than Jonathon Winters, I certainly don't know who it would be.
