More Tragedy In Massachusetts

From the Cambridge Wicked Local: An MIT police officer was shot and killed at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, according to Massachusetts State Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
The shooting reportedly happened near Building 32 (Stata) on the MIT campus. Witnesses say several ambulances responded to the area at Vassar and Main streets. Massachusetts State Police patrols, K9, Air Wing, detectives, and crime scene techs responded to the scene.
“An MIT campus police officer responding to a report of a disturbance in the area of Vasser and Main streets was reportedly shot,” said a press release from the Middlesex DA’s Office.  “According to authorities, the officer was found evidencing multiple gunshot wounds.  He was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased.”
State Police said they were assisting Cambridge Police in the search for a suspect or suspects, processing the crime scene, and providing investigative support.
According to the University's website, "Responding agencies continue to investigate active shooter incident at building 32 (Stata). Please stay indoors and away from Building 32 (Stata) and surrounding area."

One has to wonder if the bombings in Boston and the police officer's murder are related.  Would it shock anyone that the bomber(s) were college educated?
