Classy Liberals

From the LVRJ:  Hundreds of opponents of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher partied in London’s Trafalgar Square to celebrate her death, sipping Champagne and chanting “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead.”
Thatcher’s most strident critics had long vowed to hold a gathering in central London on the Saturday following her passing, and the festivities were an indication of the depth of the hatred which some Britons still feel for their former leader.
“We’ve been waiting a long time for this,” Richard Watson, a 45-year-old from eastern England wearing a party hat, said. “It’s an opportunity of a lifetime.”
As a huge effigy of Thatcher — complete with hook nose and handbag — made its way down the stairs in front of the National Gallery, the crowd erupted into cries of “Maggie! Maggie! Maggie! Dead! Dead! Dead!” and sang lyrics from the “Wizard of Oz” ditty “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead.”
If Obama should be killed tonight by his mistress, I would not out and and party.
If Bill or Hillary Clinton were to be attacked by an angry prostitute and killed, I would not sing "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead".
Once again, this shows that liberalism is a mental illness.

  1. Hey, hey! These are not US liberals, and I don't think that "Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead" is climbing the charts here. Maggie Thatcher was NOT even close to universally loved in her day or after. She's gotten a revisionist history (and Meryl Streep to play her), kind of like Ronald Reagan who has been stripped of any liberal ideas he really did have (gun control, immigration reform), and painted as a beloved figure in his day. In reality, he wasn't very popular toward the end, and could have been impeached for Iran Contra.

Anyway, I don't think you've seen this sort of spectacle over over the death of a US politician. Though we might be saving up for Cheney. . .
